I have waited 16 years for this release. Bring it on horrors of the universe, I played Fusion as a kid. Getting traumatized by parasites and aliens is routine for me!

I'm glad to see nintendo put so much effort into marketing a Metroid, especially in 2d. With this episode and the future Metroid prime 4, I have the impression that Nintendo is going to want to put this licence, more forward for years to come.

I'm so beyond terrified of this game. This'll be my first Metroid, and never before have I felt so much excitement yet so much Dread for a game in my entire life. I love it.
The metroid series is a must play if you like action and scifi games
You should consider playing Super Metroid on Nintendo Switch online.
I'd very highly recommend emulating metroid fusion to prepare for Dread. Dread is after all the 19 year sequel to the brilliant game that is Fusion. Fusion puts the "Dread" in Metroid Dread, it is responsible for a lot of the decisions made for Dread.

+1 for emulating Fusion. It's what I did a couple months back in preparation for Dread. Dread's story follows directly from Fusion.

Yoo this soundtrack is straight selling it for me, even though I'm excited for the game itself.
The faster pace fight music perfectly matches the thriller quality that the "DREAD" vibes emit.

It’s like this weird mix of orchestral and experimental, like metroid has always been horror orchestral to a degree, with some synthesized instruments or sounds, but this is so good
(I don’t like orchestral but metroid does it well is what im getting at).

The sound design is crisp, snappy, and extremely satisfying. The art and graphical style is fantastic for the first console release of 2D Metroid in many years.
I am so ready for this, and super happy that Nintendo is putting so much effort into this so that this time, sales will reflect the quality in the way this series truly deserves.
As a huge Metroid fan I’m beyond ready for this game

I'm not generally a sci-fi guy, but this might be an exception.
never been a sci fi guy either and Metroid has always been the exception for me. it's more Alien than Star Wars

The whole thing is filled with horror and simply surviving something bigger than us.
It's also like Game of Thrones when it was good.

honestly i'm glad to see that Nintendo is putting more of the initiative for marketing a Metroid game of this caliber especially in 2d, like finally a Metroid game i can root for since like the 2000s when they had Prime and Fusion on the Gamecube and Game Boy since Other M pretty much flopped and it was a disaster
what they sould be doing instead is serving us fans and make more of those special edition, nintendo should open the preorder window again for unlimited time , who cares is scalpers keep buying as long as nintendo get their share, give us fans the oportunity to get one directly from you at a reasonable price. and at the end of the day I'd love to see what scalpers end up doing with 100 copies of the game. once there's no fans looking for that game.

@@TheEmperorHyperion literally, metroid other M... is an spin off to say... between super metroid and metroid fusion. There is too many emphasis on Samus' personal sight in which doesnt fit her character we always saw from other games... fragile, too sentimental, unsolved trauma (yes ridley, as if she didnt overcome him), the plot of limiting her power due to "orders", the assassination plot... the final boss literally beaten by just ONE SCAN.

There is no Other M. I actually stopped playing that game perhaps a third into the game because I felt they were destroying Samus.

Metroid Fusion was my first Metroid game. Back then, I didn’t understand what was going on in the story. Here we are 19 years later and we finally have the sequel to it releasing in the next few weeks and…Damn I wanna play Fusion again.

Yes, Super Metroid (Metroid 3) is the best in the series. I cannot understand why so much people has Metroid Fusion for them the best title...? For example it has not so good OST as Super Metroid..

Yeah, Metroid Dread is a combination of Metroid’s classic 2d platformers and it’s modern 3d roots. I’m hyped for this game, the Metroid franchise has a ton of places to explore, bosses to find, and many more.
2d adventure, with 3d angles occasionally to help tell the story or land final blows.

Luckily I was offered a switch to borrow so I wouldn't have to wait till november to pick up a switch.
Either way I was gonna buy Dread opening week (unless it turned out to be terrible) to support this game. Metroid needs all the support it can get. I hope it has some kickass sales in the opening week.

Patience is virtue! I am so glad that the past periods (eg GameCube) that you have to wait between JPN, US and EUR launch dates were between months and months, is OVER!
This is probably the best Metroid game ever made, after beating this, I can say that with full confidence.

That BOTW trailer was epic! It's almost 25million views! Unbelievable! I had cried! Sad that I cannot see this Metroid trailer because of spoilers. I have only listened to it. It has great music :-)

All jokes aside, I’m very hyped for this. This is the most I’ve been hyped for a new title in a franchise since what now feels like forever. Cannot wait to play this, I really hope Nintendo gives us the Trilogy to the switch if this succeeds and Prime 4.

That was what Metroid Fusion did to me when I was a kid. Can't wait to see how Dread expands on the concepts established by Fusion.

I've only just recently finally felt like getting into Nintendo Games for the first time and this is definitely the first one I'm getting alongside my OLED. The game looks good and that ost is hitting different.

It's not straight up horror though. It has a few very light horror elements, yes, but that's not the same thing.

Nah, she won't be in smash, although she is... What I want is the Emmi from Metroid dread to be the last fighter! I mean it's final smash is right there, it extracts Metroid DNA from Samus? well let's just say it's Also Extracting some Fight.
Metroid fusion was my first entry into the franchise when I was 10, spawning an ungodly fascination with the series and all its titles. As I recall the fear I felt being chased by SA-X amplified by the audio of the game, I'm hopeful, anxious and grateful in my anticipation for this title and I'm glad they're continuing the X parasite storyline... cannot wait!
