  • Blues Creek Guitars presents In the Shop with John Hall. This is another video documenting how to bend figured woods, taking 1 species at a time, and going through the procedures, temperatures, etc. for each. This video focuses on Non Figured Mahogany. Note, this procedure will work with most Non-Figured woods.

I was taught to bend the waist first, then lower bout, then upper. Your thoughts please?

the reason I do it this way is simple, when you do the waist first then the bouts you don't get a good reproduction of the pattern. I do it this was and, after doing the lower and upper bout , you can see the sides really pull down on the pattern and you get a much better bend to the bend pattern and it fits the mold better.
