We redesign our outdoor space every year. Unfortunately, we have already got everything you showed in the video. So, this year I am afraid we'll go with the same style as the last year. But our trip to Ikea is still due for the season. Besides, we are yet to get proper summer weather.:(
Boy, do I need that balcony umbrella! I've wanted one for my east facing small balcony for years. I've even considered a half umbrella. This one looks to be just the right size and color. Hope it is really secure.
I have the balcony white screen is also a great way to help cast a shadow on your deck in the late afternoon. I add that with the umbrella tipped on an angle to create even more coverage so my kids can play with out looking directly at the glaring lowering sun.
Omg!! Yes!! I love the tile part we are doing a project to make our pool side look a little more attractive right now we just have a little bit of grass , a little bit of concrete but it need a little more because the rest is dirt and when is windy a lot of dirt end up in the pool 😒🥴😵💫😳
wow! I need to run to ikea! I need those candles, that umbrella and the lights, & maybe the table too. I have a long narrow patio that gets full sun all day.
Hi Kristen, although I appreciate this video, there does seem to be a lot of black items in it. Keep in mind that black absorbs heat. I'd never consider putting down black tiles on a balcony floor. And although I love the black lanterns, you could get a serious burn from touching them at midday. Just some practical things to keep in mind for future videos.
We just bought those dark grey Runnen tiles for our screened in sunroom to cover old boards. My goodness! Such a huge difference it made! It looks fantastic! They do look plastic-ky, but give great results. We laid them parquet style. Absolutely love it ❤ We looked at all the big box stores and they were all at least twice as expensive, so at Ikea, it's a steal! Our space was 13x14, so we needed 16 boxes, so keep in mind bigger spaces will cost more to cover.
I've got to get some outdoor lanterns & battery candles for the front stoop of my townhome. I think this is what is missing, now that you've made me realize that the lighting is what is making the space look "off". THANKS for the great idea! And thanks for showing the prices of the items too.😊👍👍

I will be using most of your great ideas for a giant screen room on the back of my house. It has good bones but has been abused for years by previous owners and tenants. It looks like a ghetto and it's overrun with spiders YIKES. After giving my broom a good workout sweeping webs, I plan on painting, painting and more painting. Then on to "prettying it up!" Thanks for the ideas!
I really loved this video it came at a great time I did my balcony recently with turf it turned out so good now I want a balcony table to have my breakfast out there , next I want to work on my covered area by my front door it's the first space every one sees coming into the house , I love the tiles and lights you showed 👍 they will perfect for that space
Great compilation for outdoors. All ideas listed makes for a perfect outdoor setting. I love the TORPARÖ table. It's one of DIY listed in Pinterest too. We have 18x5 feet balcony. It's a good table. If this was foldable it would have been a perfect item to buy , for addressing space saving concerns.
I have a deck that needs to be refreshed. I will look into those floor tiles and maybe put them in one area of the deck. Thank you for sharing all the outdoor tips.
Hi Kristen, I quite enjoy your videos however, this video had some misleading information. The floor tiles (I installed them three years ago) cost me over $100 for the entire small deck floor II have, ( know you said a 3x3 area for $19.99) but most decks would need more than one box and in Calgary they are $22.99. The umbrella which I rushed to get yesterday was discontinued last year said the IKEA the floor manager I spoke to. He said it was designed to be a kids umbrella. The balcony table at the Calgary IKEA is $25. I now know that the IKEAs across Canada can have varying prices. Thanks Kristen. You always do such a great job.

Recommendation on keeping dirt, "water" from upstair neighbors porch coming down. I currently just put a tarp up temporarily, does the job but it's hideous. 😬

Thanks for showcasing these items, I would have loved the balcony stuff when I lived in apartments! I'm most interested in the floor "tiles" as my deck looks pretty bad, but the sanding and staining or painting isn't happening this summer, the patterned one really caught my eye! Oh, and the battery lights, my big maple needs these.
