- In this video I’m fishing late spring into summer and wanted to share my insights into how (and why) to fish a chatterbait along with some insights into the staging patterns of fish and the affect that wind has on positioning fish.

Man. These videos are a breath of fresh air on RUclips. Glad to see you back to what’s important.
Thank you! 👊🏻
I love these style videos from you. Just fishing, teaching techniques, rambling and catching fish.
Glad you like them! Plenty more of these coming
Great video! I really learned a lot of this video. The shadow and wind direction are two tips i will remember. Thanks for your channel!
The rambling at the end was great🤪😂😂
Thanks Tom
Thanks for looking out for the big dudes. I'm slimming down myself but when you're 6'6" there's only so much I can do to fit in a good boat/PFD.
For sure, thanks Lex
Hell ya .. wife and I would buy one .. I'm sure with your knowledge and know what fisherman would need it would be worth it ..
LMAO, inside the head of Chad reel is GOLD. thanks for sharing MC Had
Thanks brother
A lot of meat in this video, Bro. Excellent tips.. You put the hammer down. 💪
We agree wife and I bought 2 Oldtown AP120's best thing we ever did .
I'd buy an OG PFD for sure thanks for the content video qaulity is awesome
awesome video! Keep up the awesome content!
Experience on what is comfortable and what works goes a long way. Build it Chad.
Thanks Walter
Love the va content ..living close to sandy river and briery creek is awesome . . I would love to see a good group of kayak bass guys come to one of those locations
Chad my man! I love your videos! I am a starting RUclipsr who loves the outdoors, camping and especially fishing. I’m far from experienced with the fishing aspect, but I’m working on it. Anyways, my channel is planned to be a motivational channel for larger figured people to show we can still get out there and enjoy! I love that you show love for us larger mammals lol. Keep up the great work/content 100% support from me!
😂😂😂 Freakin awesome video!!! A ton of educational content and humor too. Your timing was crazy when you mentioned your pfd in this video, because I was just thinking how cool it looked with the patches you have on it, lol. 👍🏻👍🏻
Even if it was a short trip. Looks like it was a fun one.
I’m a big guy also and been trying to get into kayak fishing for while and I’m just now finding things in my size.
A few more steps and I’ll be joining the kayak bass fishing world
Dude I have asked myself that question so many times. “ what does these folks do for a living “ 6 or 7 thousand dollar mortgage per month. Anyway awesome video!!!!
I am 250 lb. and 6 foot tall. I vowed to myself if I got any heavier I would just stop eating. I can't imagine being 3x sized, I feel it's everyone's responsibility to control their weight.
That’s how people that are 175 to 200 lbs feel about someone that is 250. It’s all relative
@@ChadHooverFishing True, my theory is based on health matters. I've been holding at 250 but would love to see 200 again. That's 50 more pounds of fishing goodies I can carry. LOLz
I always admire the patches you display on your pfd. Do you sale the kbf patches and the mission 22 patches?
I do sell the KBF Patches
you can get the Mission 22 Patches on their website
Id buy a pfd if you made it. Currently still using the nrs chinook.
Thank you. It’s coming
Love the vids man thinking about joining the kbf I live on the line of de and md and I’m 30 mins from va looking into the tournaments I could compete in around my area
Academy sports offers 3xl in their kayak pfd’s Magellan brand. I have one
Uncancellable is a word buddy. 😄👊
What reservoir/Lake are you fishing? I live just outside of Stafford Va myself and my biggest issue is places to fish. I started off fishing mainly farm and private ponds (little on the smaller scale)but would love to explore other fisheries.
Hunting Run and Mooney
😂, fishing for life! word to your mother!
Nice vid!!
Waiting for the Ohio videos
Hey chad just curious man because your a expert at this I fish the same way with the bait caster how come you don’t just use a left handed reel so you could use your power arm to set the hook? I cannot find any in my local stores and they never have any when I have the extra money :/
I throw a baseball right handed and bat right handed. I write left handed and do most other things left handed, but my power hand is actually my right hand.
@@ChadHooverFishing o cool I was just curious, clearly you have all the gear anyone needs plus some so I was trying to figure out why you wouldn’t set the hook with the arm you cast with for me I can’t find a reel with a left handed reel unless I snag it online appreciate the comment man thank you !sorry for the weird question hope to meet you some day when i get in the kbf!!
Do you ever use your chatterbait/ spinner/ crank to help you reposition? Like when your kayak starts turning into the bank too much, I've played around with casting out the other way and burning the crap out of it to turn my boat back out and help me stay out a little longer. But I'm still new on the yak, like maybe 10 trips
Yeap and I’ve even talked about it in past videos. With the motor it doesn’t come into play but for years I’ve used a chatterbait, Whopper Plopper, Colorado Blade Spinnerbait and wake baits to position my kayak. 👍
Have you ever did striper fishing out of a paddle fishing kayak if so can you give me some tips ? I will be fish lake Norfork here in north Arkansas
Hi there. I am in the market for a fishing kayak. I’m a bigger guy about 260. I’m 48 years old. And am looking for a high seat.
I live in Richmond Virginia. I’m looking to take it to rivers to small mouth fish. But also want ti get into tournaments as well. Can you recommend a first one to get. Budget is under 2000.
Bonafide SS127
@@ChadHooverFishing Thank you. Hoping to find one in stock. Once I get it. I will have a few questions about getting into tournaments. Thanks.
Squirrel mode lol
Hey chad, what paddle are you using?
He used to rock Bending Branches - good paddle. Chad's got a video on his channel dedicated to how he paddles. I'm watchin his PFD reviews atm.
I still use Bending Branches. I use the adjust Pro model that goes from 240 to 255 and for the most part I’m using it from 240 to 245. Occasionally I will go longer for maneuverability and leverage but when it comes to actual paddling I want to get my paddle as short as possible. With the Bonafide SS127 seat in the high position that usually 240CM. In the RS117 when I’m a lot lower (especially in the river) I switch to the 230-245 CM model and I usually have it right at 230 CM.
Bending Branches Angler Pro Carbon
Although this is great content. When you're pointing places it might be a good idea to edit in the other cam from behind you so we know what you're talking about. A lot of fishing is about the scenery and what things looks like to your minds eye on presentation. Otherwise we are just looking at you talking, which I'm fine with because you have good things to say.
Hey, Snoop Hoover! I say follow your dreams! If by chance your rap career does take off, I would be forced to sell my kayaks and buy a boat. Don't make me buy a boat.
😂😂😂😂😂
Rap career LOLLOLLOL
Ha: y’all wait until the album drops
I don't see any summer :-)

That’s what I was thinking too!
