What are the differences between Recovery Straps and Towing Straps?
Our recovery straps are made from industrial-grade nylon for a higher stretch value and are available in a wide variety of widths, lengths, and plies, so it's easy to find the right one for your application. They're used for "recovering" a vehicle that's immobilized and are also known as snatch straps for the ability to "snatch" a vehicle from a stuck position.
Tow straps, on the other hand, are made from polyester, a material with less stretch than nylon. This reduces the chances of the car or pickup sling-shotting on the road as you tow it. They're used for towing a "free-wheeling" vehicle behind another, and usually has a hook on each end. These should NOT be used for recovering a vehicle because of the lack of stretch increases the chances that the strap could snap.
