    In the sentence 'я умираю с голоду', Why do we use 'голод' in the dative case with the c prefix which is genitive/instrumental preposition?
    Cheers

    • @RealRussianClub
      @RealRussianClub  7 лет назад +7

      grammatically it would me correct to say "умираю с голода", but 99% of people use "у" ending. Same with the word "народ" - "много народа" is correct, but everyone says "много народу"

    In the 1st phrase, what is the case that "hunger" is declined in? Does "hunger" (golod) have a unique declension like garden, Hell, Crimea, forest, etc? Thank you.

    Знаете (по-моему) ваш характер совсем не показывается таким же на русском как на английском. Maybe I don't know how to write it in Russian, sorry... I'm trying to say, your personality doesn't come across to me the same in both languages. In English you sound like a bookworm, a girl who keeps to herself, ultra conservative and is very concerned with academics and her career. In Russian, your eyelids drop into this sultry, serious look and it sounds to me like you're just a social butterfly and a bit of a drama queen. Of course it is very difficult for me, growing up in a French/English environment to pick up on your Russian speaking traits. I'm not necessarily focusing on what you say, but how you say it, and it doesn't help much.

      I don't understand. Are you talking about me personally? Or Russian women in general? If it's about me, I'm surprised that you could find all that "bookworm/social butterfly" stuff in my videos. I never even talk about myself here

      Real Russian Club Hi ) Thanks for reading my comment, I never get a response. Yeah, I was trying to read into your personality by how you speak English. If you spoke like that in a movie, that's the type of person you would come across as... I'm sure others would agree. Not sure about your personality in Russian, it's harder to pick up on even though I lived in Ukraine for 4 years.

      haha maybe you just shouldn't perceive people by the way they speak?:) especially in the foreign language
