Hey guys! Sorry if the background is too dark. I'll need to fix that for next time. I hope you enjoyed the video!
will you do a 20k give away
maybe
i liked the background
Why? I really like the background, it kind of fits the mood.
Nah its great
The production on this video is so professional - depth, lighting, space for the embedded clips and titles. Very nicely done!
Great advice, too!
I have a comp in 5 hours and this is amazing it helps...Thanks a lot!
On the contrary I could also say don't focus too much. At my last comp I went into my 3x3 average with some expectations but not much pressure, I didn't really concentrate too hard, but I kept myself aware of pretty much only the current solve. I did ask my friend about their times and stuff, and that kind of helped me not think too much about my solves. That was an official PB avg. These are two ways to tackle comp pressure and I would say yours would work better in a finals like scenario where as mine is better for preliminary rounds. Great advice, Brody!
P.S I really like that kinda 'wipe away your thoughts' gesture
If you ask your friends about their times, and you know that you're doing it in a casual friendly way instead of a competitive way, then that could definitely help. So you're right, my strategy is most fit for finals and things like that
Your are 20 years old but are giving tips like you were 40, and being in comp for the last 20 years.. Great job, keep it up. :)
says a guy that is 53, and only on rare occasions comes under 1min,
Thank you!! Hopefully you can improve more in the future! And by the way, I'm not even 20. I'm 16 :)
HAHA :) Even better :)
Maybe i misunderstood this article ,
bestofsno.com/29676/arts-entertainment/from-a-kid-with-a-toy-to-a-champion-with-a-platform/
Doesn't it say your 20.
But again, english is not my native language.
What that was saying is that I'm going to graduate from high school in the year 2020. That's what '20 meant in that case
@@BrodytheCuber ahhh haha 😊
Sorry for my misunderstanding.
BTW, merry Xmas to you and your family. 😊 Keep up the good work.😊
I have a competition today and you uploaded it. This video will definitely help me. Thanks brody
good luck!
@@BrodytheCuber Thanks!
Loves this video! Im into learning about and applying this kind of mindset stuff in general. Its awesome to see it being talked about in cubing :)
If you like this, I've got another video planned that you're going to love!!
@@BrodytheCuber oo cant wait! 😊
Normally Im a pretty nervous guy when performing or doing similar stuff, but I was only the slightest but nervous at my first comp. I actually performed a 2hople 3 seconds better than normal, thanks to your advice
Hey, I've been depressed as hell (holiday stuff and all that) but I didn't know you'd won Wiscube. So happy for you! That gave me a little pick me up to hear about that. Your solves looked pretty clean and your turning and fingertricks were looking pretty crisp! Congrats!
Thanks man! I hope you feel better soon, and please don't hesitate to reach out for help if you need it
@@BrodytheCuber Thanks for the kind words. Christmas turned out ok. Working on finally learning full OLL!
I think it's great that you post on the mental aspect of cubing (which affects many other endeavors, not just cubing). Most people do tutorials or unboxing or opinion pieces, so it's great to see something new. Like the hair. Great job winning 3x3 and OH.
This was your best video by far. Great job at Wiscube!
Thank you so much man!!
Extra E P I C haircut, I saw you at woscube
This helps me a lot. My experience is to set the expectations very low so you wont have pressure.
You're very lucky to have such a dope dad Brody, he seems to help you out a lot with inner issues.
Thank you dude, sometimes I really get nervous in events I am good at, and when I get a bad solve, I always think about how bad my average is, and that I can't mess up another solve, etc.
Cool video! I don't compete a lot (going to in January though!), but I'll have to try and recall some of this stuff later on!
Also, the video looked really professional! Nice work on that!
Thanks! I'm very happy with how this video turned out
Wow. Wish I had this advice when I was cubing
Getting ready for my first competition!
good luck man!
have fun!
f96, good luck but dont expect anything really good, alot of people dont do great in their first comp
BrodytheCuber OMG! I got a 9!
Good luck! I'm going to my second one in jan!
thank you so much for this vid, this is really inspirational me cause i have a problem looking at the timer, and that really screws up my solves sometimes, and this video just helped me a lot to just focus on the CUBE, and that really helps too because i have an upcoming comp that i actually have a chance of getting into finals, so thank you.
Hey brody am cubing for like 2 and a half months and i average around like 23 to 24 seconds. My times dropped really fast but now am kinda struggling to break the sub 20 barrier
I use advanced and efficient f2l.My lookahead is kinda bad so i solve on a tps of 3.i use 2look oll and full pll except ga gb gd and n perms. Also my finger tricks are good and i solve the cross in under 8 moves and till then i lookahead to my first pair.
I practice everyday and at least do a ao50.
What should i do now?
Also congrats for your win and thanks for such a important video.😄😃
It sounds like you're making good progress! If I were you, I'd go over all of my F2L solutions and make sure I'm being super efficient
also 3 tps can be sub 20 but i recommend 4-5 for sub 20, also work on LL tps and recognition
Thanks brody and j perm
Thx! This is really helpful and I will be sure to use it for my upcoming competition in January.
I sure hope so! Good luck at your competition
@@BrodytheCuber Thx
Bro thanks for this video! This will help me in comp. And it can also help me for the sports that I do as well!
(edit) Thanks for the heart!
Yeah it'll definitely help with all of that stuff!
Great video. That is what got me placed 8th in comp.I was constantly looking on other guys solves i got lik 17 avg but i average 14
Congrats Brody !
And the new hairstyle looks cool too.
Thank you!!
Bro you help me a lot! Thanks! Nice hair cut!
in my last comp, i didn't care about my times in 3x3 and oh yet for oh, i placed 7th overall in the finals
and this is why I love your channel 😀👍
This guys vids are too good.
Thank you for this series because i got a pr 3x3 single after this!
Brody, do you know if I can still order from thecubicle.us instead of thecubicle.com if the items aren't available in thecubicle.com?
I'm biased but I love your ideas on the mental aspects of competing Brody! Great video!
I got a theory why kids are faster than adults/teens. In my theory I find that as a kid you don't that have that many things to care about and your mind isn't that full of school yet, also when you're a kid and solve in a classroom you're gonna get attention and that leads to teaching others and having a race with them. Somehow racing with other people is more productive than solving by yourself
You're right, but it's also harder for a young kid to have the discipline to learn F2L and learn everything else. So kids can be faster, but it's harder for them to get to that point
@@BrodytheCuber the difference between the two are the adults/teens are more likely to have their own method and more knowledge about the cube. Tnx for replying to my comment
@@BrodytheCuber It was actually really easy. I'm 12 and I know full pll, half of oll, intuitive f2l+4 algs for stupid cases. Started cubing mid July.
Congrats winning that competition
Thanks! It was awesome
Hair looks great, B!
Nice video it really helped me a lot
Cool, great video!
Congrats!!!!!!
Awesome!!!!
Very good vid!
Great video! Thanks!!
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
Spicy new hair
What's up, man? Remember me?
Btw at Arkansas cubing drive 3x3 finals (head-to-head as well), after the first solve the cube fell in my lap, so it was a +2, and because of that one penalty I missed podium
Ouch! In head to head as well. That must have been really tough. You'll get 'em next time!
Yeah, thx man, maybe next time
I placed 4th with an 11.06 avg, and the 3rd place average was 10.99
Rip
You have GAN 356X as your new main? Nice.

Thanks Timothy! I'm glad you liked it!!

Your haircut looks better
I think so too!
I like your new haircut
thank you!
even though I will not make it to finals any time soon (cuz of what I average: 15-16) this is still great!)
You'll get there someday!
@@BrodytheCuber Thanks for the encouragement!
Means a lot coming from you!
At my first comp (about 80 competitors) I missed 3x3 finals by 1 place with a 16.04 average, it could happen!
No problem! I was at your speed at one point, and I know how much a little encouragement can mean!
@@BrodytheCuber how long did it take you to get to where you are now?
Thanks brody:)
i switched to roux a month ago ( just saing )
Q. Y do smile with no teeth
Aw, why´d you cut your hair it was so iconic! But no shade, if that´s what you want
