Just bought a 392 Durango. Want to make sure I have this right . Upgrade rods, buy a hellcat supercharger, and then buy a conversion kit. Is that all I’ll need? I’m just trying to get up to 700 hellcat power.
i just bought one of these 392s in black last saturday as my winter car. not even fully broken in yet.. love it so far and havent even used the get away button yet. still got like 900 more kms left until its broken in
The weak point in these bad boys is the transfer case, literally saving up right now to get a built transfer case and trans then make a trip to GForce these things are dig monsters
I love the Durango with high power numbers, but even I must say, there is NO reason for a 7 seater SUV to have more power than what the hell cat version already has, let alone 1,400 HP!💀
Procharger claims that they can add 230 hrsprs by simply installing their "basic" bolt-on kit for the 392. That's with stock internals, & a mere 5 lbs of boost. 🤷🏻♀️
Same core engine. Cam & tune are different I think. The trucks also have a different intake manifold than the cars. Not sure if the Durango has the truck or car intake manifold. I do know that the Ram 2500 has a way different rear gear ratio. They have 4:10 gears, while the Durango I'm sure is more like 3:09.
What would you recommend for a 2005 Chevy Suburban Z71 5.3 4x4 that I just picked up? Not trying to race anyone with it, I actually plan on lifting it, throwing on some 37" mud tires and turning it into an overland/camping/family hauler. Paid only 2300 for it and the transmission was rebuilt less than a year ago.
I just bought a srt Durango I wanted to procharge it but have heard the rods are shit so guess I’ll build it then throw something on after good video! It’s a fast suv just want more power out of it !
Not at all. The Hellephant create engine is an entirely aluminum engine. The 392 is a cast iron block. The Hellephant blower is also different. It's more like what's in the Demon 170.
Mod wise? Yes. The Durango & Grand Cherokee are on the same chassis. That's why the battery is under the passenger seat in the Durango. Engines are the same.
That's actually pretty impressive given its size & weight. That's as fast as a Challenger Scat Pack, which has the same engine & over a 1000 lbs lighter.

Or just add a Procharger. Over 200 hrsprs gain with a single, simple "bolt-on" mod. Don't even have to mess with the engine. You're welcome! ✌🏼

Is there a difference between the SRT 392 and the Ram Heavy duty 6.4? Colud this be done with the ram engines?
Probably just a different cam if that, they make enough torque as is
