I wouldn't say it exceeded expectations. It gave me everything I wanted and everything I wasn't sure they would do, which was everything I wanted. So I think its safe to say everyone and their mother knew Tobey and Andrew were in it. It was the worst kept secret.
The floating orbs at 8:38 look a lot like the floating orbs in the dark dimension. Strange could be drawing power from the dark dimension as the ancient one did.

observations:
-the Sanctum at the begining of the trailer is not the NY Sanctum. You can tell that the stairs are different and have different decorations
-the floor design you see Wanda meditating on is the same design seen in the center of Karma Taj, getting blown up by something
-when Mordo is swinging a blade at Strange, you mention that it looks like Strange conjured something to block the blow, but it was obviously some kind of restraint being used on him. Possible that Mordo got the drop on Strange and shackled him (Strange doesn't know that Mordo is hunting magic people yet, most likely)
I was just about to comment something similar to your last bullet point. I too noticed that’s definitely some sort of “magic restraint/handcuffs”. Wasn’t there a leak of a image of doctor strange getting taken to professor X by drones? this could be wear Mordo comes to ambush them

I think that the evil doctor strange could be one from a universe where he embraced the power of the dark dimension rather then oppose it.

He's from What If...? There were clues to it throughout the trailer.
At least, that's what we're being lead to believe, so...
idk he is the evil strange from what if series,it could be another evil strange with the same back story like evil strange in what if.., but with different fate. what we need is just confirmation, not just assumption

In Wandavision Agatha says that the Scarlet Witch possesses powers greater than "The Sorcerer Supreme" but in that moment the sorcerer supreme was Wong, not Dr Strange. Maybe worth thinking about.

Yeah that same thought logic hit me the other day. It makes me question if Wanda and Strange are about equal in power? Or perhaps Strange might actually have greater power than Wanda?
I imagine the MCU would put them on equal footing in terms of power level.

It is funny to see how we are missing how many nexus points Dr. Strange broke during NWH. If Strange Supreme was punished by trying to stop the death of his love one, please imagine stoping the deaths of several villains in two universe of Spiderman
nwh might be happening the same time the end of Loki scene so I doubt they'll have the tva there immediately when they are all panicking or figuring out what's happening or something at that time, and then the next movie MoM coming up just after nwh sooo chaos all around lol I'm sure they'll slip in an explanations in some conversation from future movies

Yes, this is an "upgrade", but I honestly liked the WandaVison one pretty well. It seems everyone's costumes get at least a minor change each film.
The one in Wandavision looked like the traditional garb handed down to each Scarlet Witch since the first one walked the earth. This one looks like it’s designed for combat and I keep imagining Wanda kicking a fool

I'm surprised you didn't point out the hand that was on the railing. We see Doctor Stange's hand all scared from the accident, but in that quick scene it's not scared at all, so I'm thinking that's an alternate Dr. Strange. I certainly will be watching his hands. Similar to Inception when I wanted to see if Leonardo was wearing his wedding band or not, to determine if he was in reality or a dream

C'mon, guys. That "horned minotaur-like being" is Rintrah, a pretty major Dr. Strange character (about as major as Dr. Strange characters get). He even has an action figure in Hasbro's upcoming Multiverse of Madness toy line.
The eye of Aggamotto is more than just a casing for the time stone, it has powers imbued upon it like being one of the few items that can be used in the users normal or astral states, magical telepathic powers, similar to telepathy but magical in origin like being able to peer into your soul (magical perceptions) along with being able to radiate a mystical light that allows the wielder to see through any and all disguises and illusions to reveal all truths whilst weakening mystical beings. It has powers of teleportation and banishment as well just to name a few things it can do. Pretty cool.
This might be unpopular but i like the nerf they did to Eye of Agamotto. The Eye of Agamotto is hella op. If it stayed to its comical roots i doubt IW would have been a movie. So , i think its better that keep it as an seal for Time Stone

If Multiverse of Madness has fight scenes as visually stunning as in that What If episode, I’m all in.
One thing you didn't notice is that strange says a very similar line strange supreme says when his reality is breaking down
"I never meant for any of this to happen" in comparison to "I didn't mean for this to happen"

Knowing that the What If series is essentially Cannon the Dr. Strange episode truly was amazing and it gave me more of an expansion of mind when it comes to the multiverse
On Disney + it had it on marvel timeline order so we could have guessed that it’s canon but the time it’s set could be important

With Gargantos, I feel like they're going to do something that the MCU often does and sort of just merge Shuma-Gorath and Gargantos into a single entity for the adaptation, but with the character having more in common with the comics' Shuma-Gorath than with the comics' Gargantos. I think they're just using the name Gargantos because it's shorter, easier to say, and is wholly original to Marvel comics, as opposed to "Shuma-Gorath," which originated in a story by Robert E. Howard.
Yeah, why step on the copyrights of a book written by not-Marvel when you can keep it all in house? When you are making a movie that is going to rake in half a billion dollars in profits at least, No reason to pay out royalties if you can avoid them.

well you speculate the relation to Shuma Gorath all you want, but because of copyright issues now, you will never hear that name in the MCU
I like how the red chaos magic orbs when Strange uses the Darkhold look just how Steve Ditko depicted some dimensions with orbs in his run with the character
If you look at the “variant” strange’s complexion, he looks green, could that be a form of Nightmare from the comics? I mean Vision basically played his own Villain so why not Dr. Strange!

Benedict Cumberbatch technically played his own villian in Doctor Strange since he voiced Dormammu
Nightmare has been rumored to make his MCU debut with this film, so I could see them playing around with the idea of him taking the form of Strange as a way of getting inside his head. Plus with this film taking on a more “horror-esque” feel, it would seem like a good opportunity to bring in the character.

Around 8:52 and 9:38, the different “more evil-looking strange” seems to not have the hand injury anymore. So maybe, this is a version which he uses dark magic to heal his hands
Or never had the hand injury to begin with, which was the case for the What-if Dr Strange.
Maybe this evil strange came from 2016 version, the part Ancient one threw him through a portal to the snowy place, and instead of him returning, one of the students get him back to throw him off the place. Thus, making him learning dark magic to heal his hand.

The sorcerer flying through America's portal is Defender Strange. An effects shot of Benny C as Defender Strange leaked and the character had a ponytail just like that.
At 3:51 thats a variant of dr strange with long hair ponytied, you can see his gray streak
I have a feeling that “missing” bit of cloak is just a shot where that part of the cloak is meant to be cgi but hasn’t been done yet. It’s way to clean of a break and it has this defined rim around it similar to the patterns on mocap suits

As someone who looks at the little details, Kingpin is not dead because when you look at the angel where Maya points the gun a Kinpin, it looks like it was not pointed at the head and another thing is "if you don't see the character die, he's alive".

Events in What If are related to events in MCU, and vice versa
I think just a cameo of Dark Supreme Strange at the end would be nice enough. Dark Supreme Strange is basically a god now and he works with The Watcher to protect the multiverse.
The person falling through the star portal is “Defender Strange”, likely a Strange variant. His toy got leaked and we know it’s real because it’s wearing the same outfit black with red lining as the person (defender strange) falling through the star portal.
There's also a bts video clip of DEFENDER STRANGE (with a ponytail) spinning around in front of a green screen.

I always wondered why they called the What If variant “Strange Supreme” but I guess they wanted to save the much better “DARKtor Strange” for Multiverse of Madness

hey. really important detail that is at 1:33 in the original trailer in the marvel entertainment channel when mordo says "the greatest threat", if you go frame by frame ( which you can do on youtube by pressing '' to go forward and backward ) you can see that the scene is somewhat repeated. when mordo hits doctor strange when he is handcuffed, you can see that he hits him again as if time was rewinded. i don't know how to express my particular thought in the comment but i don't know if the editors did it on purpose or it was just a mistake that has been slipped. you can reply if you want to know more.
What would be cool is that if Strange is really the "evil" here since he has done most of the meddling with time. Also when he saw the 14 million possibilities where they were able to beat Thanos, but What If he was actually holding back information in order to get Christine Palmer back and live happily ever after? Since we have seen another Strange, if this isn't the same Strange from What If then this could be his half that split from him or this is a mirror image of him with that split personality.
Hence the Madness in the title is Stranges descent into Madness.
Strange Supreme isn't split into halves though. At the end of that episode they fought and came back together to be whole again and Strange Supreme became the dominant Strange and destroyed his reality because of it.

OP suggested this could be the other half of Strange from What If and I wad saying it's not because the astrange from What If merged with his split half after fighting each other and that's what gave us Strange Supreme.

I’ve noticed when Dr. Strange conjures the chaos magic at about 8:50, it seems to depict the dark dimension, with the planets strung together. In this moment he could be planning a journey to there for some sort of help, or that’s where he finds the dark dr strange.

I really hope the line "Let there be mutants" never gets spoken by anyone in the MCU, it sounds extremely forced.

@@murk4552 No one that I know of, but these videos keep saying it any time a reverse house of M comes to mind as a solution to bring mutants to the MCU. I'm just saying "Let there be mutants" makes no sense in the MCU currently and it would be really forced.
@@Brazdon83 It would be forced but what if the story naturally leads to it? What if Wanda says something else related and relevant at the same time, but it is good enough to bring Mutants? I mean MCU has to bring in mutants at some point..
@@hari3556 Yeah, having dialog about the mutants will be needed. It's specifically "Let there be mutants" that sounds forced. It reminds me a lot of dialog a 1980's action movie villain would say before releasing their goons on the hero.
Actually like the concept of one of the post movie videos being trailers for the follow-up film instead of it always having to be like one is the setup and the other is for comedy,,I like the basic idea of a world premiere trailer and instead or just being in the mix of things they do

If you look at the design of Strange in this movie, he more closely resembles Strange Supreme than our main continuity Strange. What if this movie actually centers around Strange Supreme, which would tie into the line, "I never meant for any of this to happen"
I can’t help but feel this is completely intentional. At 7:07, the “X” on that door, implying this film will ‘open the door to the x-men’ and mutants in general. Or a ‘strange’ coincidence ;)

I find it odd that towards the end of the first Doctor Strange film, Wong warned that the Ancient One's death would spread throughout the multiverse... Could the dark version of Strange be here for conquest? Could we see alternate versions of the Ancient One too?
Also, the scene with the cape missing a piece of itself... could that be from Thanos ripping it on Titan? We heard something rip for sure.

At 8:49 the hand seems to not be shaking so it could've been one of the darker strange variants that didn't lose his control of his hands but lost Christine instead so he wouldn't have the shakey hands
When in Infinity War Strange went forward in time to see the different outcomes ... 14,000,605 different timelines or universes. He changed the fate of their universe to do this. Doing this not only could have fractured the timeline, but also allowed the coming of Kang. Thats why the TVA was to allow it. This one act changed everything allowing Tony to snap everyone back changing the timeline and not only killing one Thanos, but also another in another universe also with killing variants of his army and allowing a variant of Gamora in their universe.
It think this is going to be based on house of M storyline loosely because there’s so many Ms in this movie ex: Multiverse, Madness, May

I think its cool that strange wearing the eye a little higher combined with the cloak, it looks reminiscent of his cloak from the comics with the design of the eye in the center of the cloaks collar
