This car Kevin is a fantastic car. I have driven many cars in my lifetime and can honestly say this is my favorite car in the modern era. its a scalpel on the track.
EVO magazine published its first issue in 1998. In 2010, EVO named the 997.2 GT3 RS 3.8 their car of the year. EVO magazine had a special edition in October, 2014 for their 200th issue. They picked 20 cars over their 16 years of publication to represent the best of what EVO stands for. Numerous journalist spent days, driving many miles in these cars…. In the end they picked the 997.2 GT3 RS 3.8 as THE car, the best among the best. Chris Harris is a motorsports journalist and an incredible driver. In a recent video named “The future of the Porsche 911”, the hosts asks Chris if he could only pick ONE 911 to have/drive, only one, what would it be? His response, the 997.2 GT3 RS 3.8. Side note, he owned a 997.2 4.0 RS and still picked the 3.8. This machine is legendary and will go down as one of the greatest analog driving experiences ever.
I think from the standpoint of a better more raw experience I think the 997.2 was the last of that. The new cars are faster etc but hard to beat the 997.2, mezger engine, last of the 997 body etc.
@@porschalism2785 Agreed. Really not even close. Sure, 991.2 is faster, but that is the end of it. In my opinion, the 997.2 GT3 RS provides a greater driving experience and is more visually appealing. It’s the GOAT.

Manual on a 997 GT3 RS is the best
only way they came but its the more rawness of this car and the way it communicates to me is why I love it
@@porschalism2785 yes 997 is the last analog 911 and combined with a manual it's pure fun
I'd give anything for this car..
I can help you acquire one if you would like
@@porschalism2785 Man, if I wasn’t 14 yesrs old and had a crap ton of cash, I’d definitely love to own one of these in Grey Black or Aqua Blue!
but what about the RS 4.0?
what about it? its at a bigger price point currently and an even better driving experience but just substantially more $$$
