My God ! They should have called this 'Alienator' .
"Alienshit".....................or "Shitnator".................
There's already a movie by that name. Though that's assuming any effs were given about copyright law.
@@itmademesignup9508 Yes, a review of it's next up in my recommendations!
@@epiendless1128 Nice! I'd say "Enjoy", but that ain't happening.
Alienator is surely the right stuff for Dark Corners bad movie reviews. Maybe we can talk Robin into reviewing it and put it in context with other movies.
It's all about the directors who made a bad movie but thought they were making a good movie. That's how you get gems such as this.
Bruno Mattei has made quite a few of these over the years.
Nothing is worse than when someone makes an intentional bad movie. It has to be made with pure intentions and fail to be a truly great bad movie.
The Colonial Theater in Pennsylvania has an Italian Horror/Splatter film marathon every September and this movie was the high point of the night this year.
If this was the high point, what was the rest like?
VonWenk well, they did show “Tentacles”, and that...that was terrible.
And you survive this..........................lucky man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rats: Night of Terror should definitely be on the short list.
It is, now.
@@julietfischer5056 Just watched it! Saw the review then the movie. Terrible but so much fun. The review did reveal a spoiler at the end but didn't matter.
It's Apone's sister.
Looks like someone decided to make the definitive "rip-off" film with Shocking Dark. It's got an awesome poster though on IMDB.
My vote for another Vincent Dawn film would be "Cruel Jaws" (1995). I've only heard about it, but I understand that it uses actual footage from "Jaws" and other films.
This is gold.
Smoke enough dope and this is AWESOME!!!!!
Is not Terminator 2................but better than Terminator 3, Terminator Salvation and Terminator Dark fate.............and cheap!!!!
Everytime they say the Tubular corporation my mind thinks of cartoon characters from the 80s saying TUBULAR! or perhaps bodacious or radical
Don’t forget Einstein the jet bike from *Warrior of the Lost World*
Gnarly, dude!
I'd rather watch this film instead of any of the Disney star wars movies. And im being 100 percent truthful.
People are such drama queens sometimes.
"Wahhh! They changed my Star Wars!! How dare they try something fresh and new!!!"
@@SniffHeinkel
Youre being a drama queen. And Disney star wars is still a massive pile of ass.
listen both of you... ill marry you both
@@mothmanofaustraliaradio8888
Im already married.
Are you married in all galactic systems
The 80's and their shoulder pads....
That was so bad it's good!😊👍
1:00 ahh.. you _almost_ corpsed there. 😉😁
5:00 I like how his head goes flying off, only to pop back on for the exciting foam spitting scene.
It's rare for DC to review a movie I haven't seen. And man, this one looks *epically* bad!!
Look, I can tolerate awful effects, if the story works. I can tolerate a thin/flawed plot, if it's delivered with brio and panache. But this?!? Every time somebody said anything, I was cringing. I can't decide: Was it the truly dreadful acting that made this almost unendurable? Or do we metaphorically lynch the writers?
@Timinator6069 I can't disagree with your position.
WOW, the acting though.
"We make bells." HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
Love your videos dude. Quality every time.
Thank you
Watch Bruno Mattei's 2007 film, ZOMBIES: THE BEGINNING. Amazingly it is also a rip-off of Aliens and even more so than this film.
To be fair, the Marines in Aliens were also inept idiots that swiftly get massacred, so that Ripley, the only sensible one, can sort things out. Also, the evil corporation making a video presentation is literally the most realistic thing I've ever seen.
It wasn’t necessarily that they were _inept,_ they just went in overconfident and unprepared for the unfamiliar scenario they were facing. Vietnam in space.
These guys though? I’ve seen better team coordination in a Call of Duty lobby.
Any thoughts on why the Ashe/Terminator character was named after the director of Shock Corridor and The Big Red One?
The "tunnels" under Venice?
"Don't look now!"
I see what you did there....
Woman: "Why didn't you kill us before?!"
Robot man who is clearly not a T-101 rip off: "Because I was waiting for exactly the right time.
That is to say, now. Why don't you try to escape?"
wat
I was feeling some Resident Evil vibes as well, but realizing this came out 7 years earlier just goes to show that RE was not exactly the most original thing story-wise.
Resident Evil was based on a game though.
As a cheap ripoff of Aliens but with inept soldiers, this is more like Alien: Resurrection (aka Alien 4).
‘Tubular’ is American slang for ‘Awesome’ so I kept expecting the guy to play air guitar or something
Good ole Bruno Mattei!
Like Rambo II? Watch his Strike Commando!
Like Predator? Watch Robowar!
This was a fun review to watch.
0:19 So it's a rip-off of both Terminator series and Alien series, but this is more focused on the Alien series instead of Terminator series.
The Tubular Corp has a lot of pipes in it... unsurprisingly.
Have you seen "hands of steel"?It's also a weird "terminator" rip off from '86 by a director named sergio martino. It even rips off "over the top" a bit
Who would want to rip of Over the Top? Main things i remember from that film is Stallone training his arm while driving and the fact his dying wife gets better looking the closer she comes to death. the only arm wrestling scene we need to see was in The Fly.
Haha yeah, well i think it's worth a laugh
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Sure, a movie thats roughly 75% arm wrestling and 20% arm wrestling related drama probably isn’t the BEST idea in the world, but.... Anyway, John Saxon was in it and thats alright by me.
Ah yes, with George Easton (the cannibal from Grim Reaper, aka that movie that beings with "A" and I can't hope to spell) as the arm wrestling opponent that turns out to be a very sore loser.
@@DarkCornersReviews Not a fan of John Saxon armwrestling Marlon Brando over a scorpion in The Apaloosa, then?
It's not a bad title, though (shocking dark, that is).
5:02 I didn't notice, but watch how the falling dummy LOSES ITS HEAD! Oops
I love that at 5:03 (of the review) the falling dummy meets decapitation. Then, at 5:05, when the body hits the floor the head is back. That is one efficient self repair.
The Space marines custom is like "Power-rangers" prequel..................
Why does the guy in the thumbnail look like a young and pre winning Charlie Sheen?
I know, right? 😂
That's the only reason I clicked on this vid. Charlie Sheen in a Terminator rip off?! Holy shit!
anutter spaghetti-spined macaroni
It's hard to make a film so bad that it's unwatchable. It has to be a subconscious effort, and this movie somehow pulled it off (it was probably the acting and the obvious rip-offs of Alien and Terminator).
Bruno Mattei's _Strike Commando_ would give you guys a field day. Why? Two words: *_REB. BROWN._*
I've always thought that Strike Commando would make a great twin-spin double feature with Deadly Prey. I've been too scared to do it, though.
Bad? Movie looks awesome...
Robin, I was going to commend your restraint in not remarking on "Samuel Fuller," but then you worked in the "Don't Look Now" comment 🤣
The TUNNELS OF VENICE? Venice, the city built on pilings, that doesn't even have sewers (they have communal septic tanks)? Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade has a LOT to answer for. And don't get me started on the high-speed car chase in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
I’d say it’s still overwhelmingly an Aliens rip off, almost scene for scene. Really shameless. I’m surprised Fox didn’t sue. Even the “terminators” were really just copies of the androids from Alien.
I only today discovered about this mega-cheese! Oh boy, must see for a Cameron fan.
Oh! This in "famous" in Italy.
I Just wonder if the soldiers uniforms we're made by the same Ace Frelhey's (Kiss guitar) stylist.
5:41 Aqua Regia 1(HNO3) + 3(HCl) ?
Can even dissolve gold & platinum, & of curse stainless steel.
This is pure MST3K material. What Cleveland steamer!
1. Inept Marines
2. Pro-pollution
Answer: A movie produced with Chinese money.
This terrible movie is OBSESSED with VENICE! Was it made there or something?
Let's find a good setting for a city with tunnels... Venice!
The one city where the water level is sometimes lower than the floor... good luck with tunnels.
Terminalien or Alienator?
Terminalien, definitely.
//////this one is on YT,
you may be shocked to find that it's REEEALLY bad!
The original title of Shocking Dark was Troubling Twilight.
6:11
still, not yet to ''Zardoz'' level that would've taxed the worst of the worst in movie-making.
One I would recommend is NIGHT KILLER,co-directed by Mattei and Claudio Fragasso, and promoted in Italy as a sequel to THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE!
I really don't see why the director didn't at least reshoot the scene with the guy yelling "Die, die, die!"
One of my favorite this and robowar
So how do you fix a movie's inept dialogue ? Answer : throw in a lot of Profanities every other sentence .
*hits blunt* so. What if. We like. Got terminator. And alien. And put them together?
0:29 -> Venice should count it a blessing that the Costa Concordia didn't capsize in her waters.
2:14
Let's go back!
*moves sideways
OK very late to this video but "we make bells" made me laugh out loud for real
Anyone noticed those "Marines" are wearing shin guards on their forearms? LOL
6:40 Is that Mark Zuckerberg? Explains a lot...
This movie should definitely be on the top 10 worst movies of all time list. I do enjoy my share of bad movies and this one was hilarious! Also Dark corners review had me cracking up
A reference to Daphne Du Maurier's "Don't Look Now"?
I wasn't expecting that, somehow.
This should've been dubbed the Terminator 2 that wasn't. Talk about ripping off Aliens back then in 1989. They've already done that with Deep Star Six and Leviathan.
iitalians and sci fi doesnt mix well together
Are there really tunnels beneath Venice? I thought the city was practically under water as it is?
Hey, I though it was the Canadians whom had the cornerstone of schlocky exploitation since the 1980's, before that it was the Eye-talians
I still want to know why she kept that photo of Venice on her bra. They really wrote that thinking it made any sense?
As hilariously bad as this looks, more thought was clearly put into it than Terminator: Genyyyyysis.
You look like linus tech tips but I DON'T want to punch you.
Who gave money to filmmaker Bruno Mattei? Who?
5:13 We used to play this game at recess. The wood chips under the slide were acid.
Give me then practical effects over CGI any day
Did 'the Terminators' HEAD just pop off!?? 5:00 \/
Why does the art look way more like Charlie Sheen than the actual actor?
Where's Charlie sheen in this movie. He was in the thumbnail.
Rats, one night of terror and still no Chocolate.
It's still better than Terminator Salvation.
''Lets get the KY and shaft him'' Brilliant !
0:20 to avoid James Cameron's lawsuits.
I don't know how you do it. I REALLY tried to sit through this movie and felt all my personal human potential swirling down the drain.
It was a long 105 minutes.
Oh no, a tubular bells Oldfield reference!
"Wops" was OK but not the N word? double standard. Im sure wops is every bit an insult to Italians as the N word to blacks.
Immortal, but not to a railing death
.
I couldn't finish the last 20 minutes
No Wonder HE Dident FALL Down!
4:43 Did he kill Kenny!?! OMG!
I guess Dave Cameron said: "Suing them? Who cares?"
Dave Cameron the British prime Minister?
Is he any relation to James Cameron?... The guy who directed Terminator.
COMPLETE ALIENS RIPOFF!
5:02 😂
Lol. This is barely an ALIENS rip-off.
Are you sure? Watch it again.
5:33 Unintentionally name-dropping a much better horror movie set in Venice! Or, was it unintentional?
It was intentional. Glad someone noticed.
Wait, wait...didn't she slash the other side of his face with the bottle?
And I have to imagine some of these things are just the results of terrible dubbing, like the robot referring to himself as "immortal". He's not even alive!
And as for wanting to pollute the world because reasons...? That's why I could never get into Captain Planet. "Let's release toxins into the clouds because I want to!" or "Let's go back in time to sell Hitler an atomic bomb so there will be radiation everywhere because I really like the Fallout series!"
Dang.
2:04 SCREAMING KING !
So it’s aka aliens?
SAMANTHA!
...
ANGELA!
Totally tubular!
Ah thank you for this upload. I've been eyeing the dvd for this on eBay for a while. Deffo guna buy it now
