  • TheVRP Archives - Reissue UK Pressing - "The Beatles - Help!" - One Box EMI ‎- PCS 3071 - 1969
Concerning the Side-by-Side at the end of this video, you will note definite distinctions in sound between the rework of the original analog disc cut master sound from LegacyVMP Studio and EMI's/George Martin's 1987 remix from 4-track sound and the 2009/2012 Stereo Remaster work by Sean Magee at Abbey Road, as well as, the original 1965 stereo mix and Stan Ricker's Stereo Remaster work he did for Mobile Fidelity's 1985 release.
Lathes Used - It is important (very important) to note that the '69 One Box EMI labeled reissues(repressings) of the Help! album were still born from the same metal masters created in '65, as the matrices confirm, and so ALL of the One Box EMI's of that album pressed in '69 were from the original tube cuts.
I believe Ricker for the Mobile Fidelity used a highly customized solid state Neumann:
"The GAIN 2 Ultra Analog™ system is comprised of a Studer™ tape machine with customized reproduction electronics* and handcrafted cutting amps that drive an Neumann SX74 cutting head on a restored Neumann VMS-70 lathe."
"GAIN 2 Ultra Analog™ is a proprietary cutting system built and designed by legendary design genius Tim De Paravicini, with consultation from one of MFSL's founding fathers - Stan Ricker, an audio engineer responsible for many of MFSL's most heralded past releases."
    Which version do you prefer?
I hope you enjoy the additional Side-by-Side demo at the end of the video to help you discern the critical differences. Something to think about. To learn more on how this studio is helping fill a vital need in the legacy audio industry, please visit - www.legacyvmp.com.
    Sixty Year Anniversary - The Beatles - 1964 - 2024
And so Calderstone Productions, the UK sub of UMG that owns the rights to The Beatles music, is allowing some Beatles music to now be played on RUclips for the time being. Not sure for how long but we are grateful to them for allowing it.
And now we are in the process of looking through our Beatles archive and releasing those uploads that were previously put on hold from years past. This is good news folks. Enjoy!
    +1st Pass
    *'Tru-192' - A true hardware 192kHz/24 bit hi-rez transfer
+1st Pass - Usually indicates that a lesser audio source(vinyl pressing) was used to create the transfer. Also, very little, if any, audio restoration treatments are applied on a 1st Pass. Therefore, it is highly likely that you will hear various degrees of audio distortion throughout. If and when a better audio source is acquired, a second transfer/restoration project will eventually ensue as part of a 2nd Pass and depending on the results, a full scale audio restoration will usually also accompany the 2nd Pass for much better results.

"Esto es solo amor" en la voz de John Lennon, cantante de la banda The Beatles, sonó en la cinta "Help" filmada en 1964.

Lennon does some real good double tracking on his vocal during the refrains

I much prefer the second version although less bright however it doesn’t have the amount of distortion the first one has therefore I’ll choose the second one on this one
Although I like better the stereo separation in the first one
