Lmao what’s wrong wit yall …OP is saying they’ve had her/his bird for 5 years. Within having it for the first time they tamed it after 4 days of having it but even with OP’s bird already being “trained” they are still watching this video.
If your Conure is using a water bowl to take a bath in then he needs a birdie bathtub to do his bathing in, one that is big enough for him but not too big. Our Sun Conure loves his. It attaches to the side of the cage. You can get one at a pet store. Thank you for the tips. I agree about the feeding containers being sharp for your bird's feet.
Hi, great video I tried the way you fed your conure at 2:21, mine immediately goes to my finger and bite me and ignore the food ,but when I feed him by holding it with my fingers he eat it without biting :(
My Conure will step up, but flies away from my finger. She loves to be on my shoulder and play with my hair. She's sweet, but I don't know how to train her to step up and stay or come when I call. Do you have a video that can help me? Thank you in advance. By the way this video was very helpful.
Im not quite sure if you know the answer to this but I'll ask it anyways. So i used to have a black capped conure and a budgie they both bonded really well together they would eat together the budgie would eat out of the conure's mouth they would fly together basically everything together until sadly i accidentally killed the conure 😢 that day was the worst and the upcoming ones too but the thing is i never showed the budgie what had happened to the conure so it never knew and now after 2 months of it's death i got a new black capped conure it does look a bit different than my last one but when i presented it to the budgie it got sooo happy it instantly flew to it and stayed on top of the cage bobbing it's head like it used to with my last conure 😔😔 but ever since my conure died i got the budgie another budgie and it never rlly seemed that happy until yesterday when i got the conure and well the question is, Does it think it is it's old friend or does it know it's a different one? If it does think is it's old friend is there any consequences or will it ever find out it's not? Oh last thing i forgot to mention my budgie was able to mimick my old black capped conure's noises it has been doing them everyday even when he wasn't here with us 😔 and when he saw the new one it also started to do the noises
U should cover the windows with the curtains so that the birds don’t try to go outside and accidentally hurt themselves because they can’t see the window as it is clear.
Hi! Thanks for this video! Do you think I can use the same strategies for two parrots at a time? I'll explain. My first parrot was already hand trained and I got her a friend after a few months cause she suffered heavy separation anxiety when I wasn't with her. She passed away soon after.. I got a new friend (his sister) for my second sun conure, and let them be for a few months. Now I need them to be in the cage (cause of renovations around the house) but they're not hand trained at all. They also have completely different personalities. Do you thin it is possible to hand train them at the same time? I see it might be quite difficult..
Hi 👋. Yes you can definitely train them both together. Your training might even encourage the two birds to get even closer. So to some extent, training both together can be very helpful.
I got my first Sun Conure Yesterday, he has had very minimal interaction with humans despite being captive bread. He was bread with the intention of being used for breading but due to having a abnormal foot the breeder gave him to me. He seems comfortable with me in the room but when I have approached the cage to change the water or food he becomes very scared. I am worried that this will not help us to bond, what should I do?
I assume the bird has a subconscious mindset abt getting scared of human beings. It is most likely due to very less interaction with humans. Since he is already an adult, i believe it would take quite a bit of time to get used to you being closer to the bird. All he needs is time :). Stay in the same room very often everyday so he recognizes that you are his friend
@@FuadPhenomenon Thank you for advise, I know its still very early days yet but I am optimistic. His cage is in my bedroom for the time being as this where I do all my work when at home at the moment. Literally in the last hour I have done nothing but sit as close as I can and when he seems comfortable I move an inch closer, I am also moving very slowly. I can now move past the cage without upsetting him. I am so excited 😆 and impressed with him, I will carry on tomorrow.
My conure still is nervous when it comes to close contact and backs away and it's been a month and a half, is that normal. He does stay close but doesn't touch. He also eats from my palm
My bird will walk out with ease and stand on the cage but getting him back in he backs up and won't hand step and doesn't like to be picked up or backs up. What can I do
Hey I have a question. I am planning on getting 2 male budgies for taming so I want to keep them in my room but the problem is that I turn the ac on at night so is that a problem? If so what should I do?
it is okay to get the birds out temporarily and keep ac on at low. I would not recommend to keep the birds in ur room if u plan to keep ac on overnight tho. It is okay to some extent if u keep the fan on (at low speed) with a heavy cloth or curtain covering their cage
My conure would bite me when i let him out.I am guessing he bites because he is curious and playful,or because he isn’t familiar with humans. My conure grew up in an awful environment with no toys, proper perches and diet so he doesn’t play or shred toys.He would walk on the floor and bite my feet😣When i put my hand near the cage,he doesn’t seem scared but he tries to bite me.Please help :(
Ur right, the conure is probably scared of humans and its just a matter of time and patience. My bird had a rough childhood as well..If urs see u very often and doesnt get bothered easily, it should soon trust you :)
My conure does not want to get out of its cage, he sometimes steps up to a perch, so I can take him out, but immediately wants to go back to his cage once I bring him to more distance. Will this change by time he feels more comfortable or am I doing something wrong? Did you take out the food of your bird for a certain time in order to lure him to you?
Your conure has feather shafts on its head. This may irritate the bird when petting it. The bird might bite you if you irritate it’s head. He needs another bird to pick away at the shafts.
I just bought 2 green cheeked conures, one male one female and they both are very afraid of me and moves away from me instantly :( one 1 year old and one 2 years old, they seem to like eachother alot
My friend feeds her birds breakfast, snack, lunch, usually tv dinners with meat. Then later snack then snack before bed. Is she doing all things right. They also bite her.
I gotta give it a try. My bird is so timid . It’s been 3 months and we spend lots of time out of the cage and snacking and talking and traveling . He jus don’t like us
BROTHER, as you know winter season is coming up in Bangladesh...so what should i do if my 1month old baby yellow cocktail catches cold, and I had to hand feed it, PLS REPLAY ITS URGENT...
winter is a sensitive period for baby parrots if not kept with parents it is rather best to keep it indoors separately and occasionally bring it out in the sun during the day
Bro my pineapple conure, I brought him yesterday and he trusts us, he even let’s us pet him and all but whenever I bring my hand towards him he bites,he never let’s us touch his foot,so, what do you think we should do to get him step up?😅
Its the beginning stage where the bird still needs to build that trust. I'd say it will take a while and to not rush with the step-up process because they might feel intimidated. Start with feeding from your hands and spending more close times with the bird :)
Got a conure yesterday. It is continously trying to open the cage and wants to come out.we feel pity and from morning 5 times my kids had let her out.now its nt willing to go inside.since we hve only one not to make her feel lonely kids used to play birds sounds every now n then. And the bird wants to roam the house dnt wamt to go inside even at night.can you help us how to get her back to cage without hurting her feelings.
Hi Pooja, I completely understand your bird's situation. A single bird would always want to hang out with us. Is your bird trained enough to eat from your hand? If yes, you can feed your bird and slowly approach towards the front of the cage and eventually get her inside slowly. It would be useful if your bird hasn't eaten anything for a while so she would have no other option but to eat from your hand. Birds need to learn that spending time outside is only for entertainment reasons and not when they need to sleep at night :))) so she could feel sad at first.
Good question. I normally don't let the bird eat treats for too long- maybe like 5 seconds. It desperately wants to eat but I retreat it once it performs a trick or step
It’s a taming process so they need to keep it in the room. From what I’ve seen from this person they will not be clipping their bird’s wings. Plus I personally think clipping is bad for birds, especially fletchings.
Taming of a conure bird is excellently explained and is very much useful for all beginners to get close with their pets. Stay blessed.
My bird and I bonded after like four days and it’s been five and a half years since then and I’m still watching this 😂

So using a perch or stick to get him to stand on and get him back in since he's not comfortable stepping on hands yet?
Yes! Just to indicate its safe. Because they are getting back to the 'safe zone'
Great tip.. what is your parrot’s favourite food…
Hi there, thanks for the video! What are you sing as treats in this video (besides the seeds)? Is it cooked sweet potato? Thank you!
