I love my P226 Legion SAO, it was my "2011" before I actually got one. My favorite feature on the Legion is you can camber a round with the safety on. My night stand gun is my HK45. Great review as always sir! 👍
Thank you for the nice thorough review. When I first started watching , I was kicking myself because I had purchased the Sig P226 ZEV, which despite its high cost, does not let you into the Legion club. It too is a SAO, but with several Gucci upgrades. I’m not sure the higher “ZEV PRICE” is warranted, but for home defense purposes, it sports everything you just articulated, but in addition it comes with a red dot, with back up sights that co-witness and the most incredible G-10 grips; you won’t ever want to put the gun down. Neither gun is cheap, but I would definitely recommend handling both before laying down that kind of $$$$. I would say that for home defense, a red dot with backup sights is a must, for me. Thank you again, you did a really nice job on this video.
@DoctorTactical I haven’t had the opportunity to handle the P226 ZEV but I’m sure it’s an awesome handgun. I am very happy with this P226 Legion. I really appreciate your kind words and thank you very much for watching!
I concur! Last August I bought a P226 SAO Legion RXP with Romeo 1 Pro, and sent it to the Sig Armorer in (Oak Point) Texas for a competition action job, and a super strut. I then installed a lighter sear spring and a low mass hammer from Armory Craft. Now it has a 1.12 pound trigger with perhaps a millimeter or two reset. Finger needs to stay away from the trigger until you want to let loose. What a great gun, but so isn’t my 229 legion, and 220 legion. My P226 is the most fun to shoot other than my Nighthawk Shadowhawk in 9mm. With my best regards.
I’ve mentioned before that I used to own the P226 Legion, and it’s a very accurate pistol. I carry at home, although not visibly. I buy Haggar dress slacks with a pocket large enough to completely conceal a 3” 686+ revolver, and even Glock 19. DeSantis makes pocket holsters for both. My home defense plan entails not opening my door if I’m not expecting someone, and I’ve installed an exterior door on the master bedroom. My safe is within arms reach of my bedside, so I have quick access to an arsenal of pistols, shotguns, and rifles. In the event of a home invasion while in the bedroom, my first response will be to call the police. We have a fantastic PD (Middletown Township, PA), and I would rather they take out the trash. During evening hours, the task would be mine.
I have the 229 legion and it's one of my favorites , it also shoots very soft and has a nice grip . My only gripe is that the slide fit is loose , but I guess they made it that way to be reliable if it gets dirty . Great gun though .
I recently bought the P226 legion RXP SAO in all black LE, military, responder only version. Shot 5 mags yesterday break in and wow what smooth fast pistol. Extremely accurate. The only upgrade I added is the Armory Craft sport take down lever which I absolutely recommend if you need a more pronounced thumb index rest. Great carry and night stand combat pistol. My favorite sig so far out of 5 models.
Very, very nice...thank you for sharing. I have/keep a variety of handguns around bedroom/house. Generally at the bed side is a Dan Wesson .45/AR-15. Others include HK 45/HK USP .40/Staccato P 9mm
It’s funny that you had a G41 as your home defense gun and moved to this because I had a P226 Legion SAO as my home defense gun and am now using a G21. I sacrificed my P226 to help fund a more expensive purchase but I plan to pick up another one when I’m able. The P226 SAO is my favorite Sig by far. Nothing beats a 1911 trigger in my opinion but man this thing is excellent! Great choice for home defense. I just pray you never need it.
Sig makes quality guns. The straight single-action-only trigger elevate it head and shoulders above a regular P226, but it still can't quite match a 1911 trigger. So, that 226 won't replace my Staccato P any time soon.
I just bought one and can’t wait to shoot it. I’ve been carrying a Sig p228 for a few years now. I’m starting to get a little touch of arthritis in my hand and that DA for the first shot In my 228 is getting to me. Plan on carrying this once I get some trigger time with it
One of my all time favorite guns is 226/229 sao. I don’t have one at the moment but have been contemplating trying to trade for one. On another note what’s your take on optics? I noice you don’t have optics on nearly every firearm like a lot of other gun channels. I’m still contemplating getting that SFX9 and selling my C2 but what holds me back is optic or no optic. At least on the C2 there’s a plate to use if you don’t want to have an optic on. Wilson doesn’t have that. I’m not good with optics right now and I do have them on a few guns but not big for me. I don’t know if that will change as I become more familiar with them and don’t really want to handicap myself on a $3k gun. Great content btw. Some of the best fast in handguns on RUclips for sure!
And you for your kind words. I’m slowly working on transitioning to red dots. I guess I’m old fashioned in that respect. I like and I’m good with my iron sights. However, I currently have a red dot on my Glock 48, Shadow Systems MR920 CZ P07. I really enjoy the C2. Sold it for other guns for the channel but wish I still had it. Thank you very much for stopping by!
Where was this one made? Have you had the chance to compare Austrian/German Sigs and the US production? With the P210s it was lacking, especially slide fitment.
I have the same firearm. In its stock configuration it’s already an amazing firearm but I wanted a slightly better trigger. I wanted to eliminate or reduce the slack leading up to the wall so I sent my firearm to MK3 in Nevada and had them install the “single stage trigger”. Best $225 I’ve ever spent! You have an immediate wall with no slack and a crisp break. I am willing to go as far to say that my P226 Legion SAO now has a better trigger than a Staccato and IMO will even out shoot it. Something to think about. ruclips.net/video/MxtO4ABjbFc/видео.html

I agree with you. It’s a 1911 for those who want more capacity and don’t want a 1911. Good choice on the HK 45. As always, thank you for watching!

I have t experienced a P226 SAO worked as you describe but it sounds awesome. Thank you very much for watching!

Alway good to have a home defense plan and be prepared. Good job. Thank you for watching!
You have a top 10 collection of all time... It is just Epic tbh
Thank you very much!

I have not shot the P229 Legion. I saw a P229 Legion SAO at the gun shop the other day but did not take the plunge. Thank you for stopping by.
@@MDpolo I have many handguns and the 229 legion shoots probably softer than any of them .
I have this same weapon as well as a Wilson Combat and other high end handguns, My go to home defense gun is still a sub $200 Maverick 88 12 gauge

My favorite sig so far out of 5 models.
Sounds like a really nice set up. Thank you for the info. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by.
I would like this pistol! I have the Da/SA Legion Sig 226 and I think it is Awesome. Maybe someday I will pick this one up too. 🤠👮🏻♂️👍🇺🇸👏👋👻
B9USA Sr.
I highly recommend it. You’d love it. Thank you for watching brother.

All good choices. Thank you very much for watching!

Both good choices. I too pray that we never have to use them for their current intended purpose. Thank you very much for watching. I appreciate it.
Now I feel very special because it is mine also!!! And I have the fancy send away for display type case
Good choice. Thank you for watching!
Same, mine is the Sig Legion p226 SAO RX with Romeo 1 GREAT Choice 👍🏻
Nice! Thank you for stopping by.
Very nice setup. My carry gun is my bedside gun, a CZ-P07 with an Olight PL-Mini Valkyrie attached. Cheers!
I really like the P07. As always, thank you very much for stopping by.
@@MDpolo You're welcome. My pleasure.
I need one of those! I need to do one for my home defense setup.
They are awesome.
It’s amazing I love mine
One of my all-time favorites. Thank you very much for stopping by.

Mine is a Walther Q4SF w a Holosun 509 and a TLR7A.
The Q4SF is such an awesome gun. I had one some time ago for a video. Resold it and regretted it. Thank you for watching!

Oh Yeah, I love my P226 Legion SAO. A 90 degree trigger break would make it perfect.
My home defense setup is a Gen4 Glock 41 with TLR-1 HL Light.
Sweet set-up. Thank you for watching!

You said you got the 20 rd mags off sig sauer website?
I did. That was at the time that I found the video. Not sure if they still saw them. Thank you for stopping by.
Where was this one made? Have you had the chance to compare Austrian/German Sigs and the US production?
With the P210s it was lacking, especially slide fitment.
Other than my Swiss made P210, I haven’t paid much attention to where they are made. Thank you for watching!
Which insert are you using on the TLR-1 HL on your Sig as I was thinking if picking up that light.
I’ll have to check. I just grabbed it out of the box and installed it.
What holster do U use? I have the same set up!
I have not purchased a holster for the set up. It is either on my bedside safe or in the main safe. Thank you very much for stopping by!
Do you know of any duty holsters for it?
I do not. I have not looked into that. Thank you for stopping by.
Same as yours, but no light.
Congratulations. Awesome handgun.

That sounds absolutely amazing. Thank you very much for the information and for taking the time to watch. I appreciate it!
Put a shotgun beside your bed instead of this peashooter
OK…
