Thank you for your insight nick. I understand a lot now when you say to not look at my ocd through the lens of a victim perspective like I would other situations where that’s necessary. It would instinctively tell my brain it’s ok to have these thoughts because I have no control. Ocd does.
It’s just very hard. I was open to a woman I was in a relationship with about my hocd, childhood rape and my compulsions. Even a real life impulsive act I did going on Craigslist. This was when it all first started 8 years ago before mental institutions. Jail. Prison. Over stupid things like trying to kill myself and LAPD acting like assholes about it. Other stupid mental health crises’ that turned to legal issues. Thus my mentality that ocd is an underserved mental illness and that being from an impoverished community. I won’t ever get help. Luckily I’ve always been pretty intelligent for being a first generation. But back to my “trauma” well all my old friends her and all those people laughed at me, told me I was gay and I got cheated on in that relationship so it FEELS like trauma but you’re right. It’s more like I have a specific experience these people didn’t understand and unfortunately it ended up intermingling with my OCD struggle. Then my personal life. I’ve really worked on focusing on my peace despite having been in horrible places like skid row or sleeping on the la metro. But I got it together enough to get my own privacy and work on this issue. It’s just hard still wanting to be a normal human pursuing love and normal human desires while dealing with something most humans don’t understand cause I feel 80% of humans are in touch with their personal desires. And with scrupulosity ocd that’s the number one thing you do. Be a buzz kill to people’s desire to just live.

Awesome. So wear the depersonalization and derealization.
This means that if I feel dehumanized by the OCD or unfortunate real event, to get underneath it and move on, is this correct?

I think so. It the reaction we gotta get under control. It's all about tolerating what's coming up and not getting wrapped up in the whole thing

Absolutely! It’s almost always a fear of the sensation being present!

This now has me wondering when Grieving through "trauma" is necessary, vs. when to move on emotionally as if it didn't happen, and how to do this.
Gonna watch the videos on self-compassion more to see if I can find the answer.

Hey Nick! So yes we can't actually physically work ourselves out to eliminate mental compulsions directly and instantly but what about those very subtle physical compulsions we do? Like sometimes it is very hard for me to differentiate whether or not is it a physical compulsion or not? And because of this confusion,i sometimes also ignore those things too which aren't the compulsion

Terrific question! So 2 parts here - 1) Feeling the confusion of not needing a line in the sand (is this compulsive or isn’t it), making a decision to cut and see how it goes! Second, getting comfortable with digging deeper into discomfort of cutting all those little ones out! Yes, all of them! You can do this in time !

ISO agree with dropping the word trauma. Is so overused and it is an excuse for people's behavior
