OMG, I never knew that they like Kristin Hersh! I love Kristin! I just met her before a concert and she's the sweetest ever omg! (Kristin Hersh and Sleater-Kinney are my first two concerts with women artists!)
that was totally an intentional song choice on sk's part. the producers of the show probably didn't even realize they were heavily criticizing them, and that's the genius of it - plus they reached an audience that has something to gain from the song.
wow there are no back up vocals on that song! didn't really notice that! I love how Carrie smiled at Janet, I just love how Carrie always throws Corin or Janet a smile, they really love each other, they had such amazing chemistry as a band and you can tell they're SO close and they brought that love and chemistry to the stage every night...can't believe it's over
@XebecOH I sorta see your point, but a quote on politically progressive rock from Tom Morello fits here: "We're not interested in preaching to just the converted. It's great to play abandoned squats run by anarchists, but it's also great to be able to reach people with a revolutionary message, people from Granada Hills to Stuttgart." Also of course the hosts aren't "bitches", they're people.
@McHipster Yeah that's what I was thinking. Corin's attitude is definitely of the "fuck you" variety, IMO, haha :) Of course that could just be because the lyrics are too.
Ok three things; one thanks for posting this even though it's cut off, two Corin's voice is amazing it makes me want to rip my clothes off, and three I can't believe this is Oxygen they were actually trying to be feminist at one point?!
this video is a hidden gem. their style is timeless
Only S/K sounds like S/K....great sound....
