    Just a comment on the suspension front wiring round connector, design a new tray mounting it turned through 90’, it will match the read console wiring connector and not be in the way of your elbow 👍

    • @islandworks
      @islandworks  3 года назад +4

      I will do another round of design around it so it looks the same and consistent. It’s far away from the elbow, but would look better 👍🏻

    • @2of2DCH
      @2of2DCH 3 года назад +4

      Agreed.
      Or would it possible to make connector out on the front right side facing forwards, that way the wire loom has a straight shot along the side of the trans tunnel. Do the same for the read console too. The wires could be clamped down using nutserts and rubber clamps, Project Binky style.

    • @heikok.1960
      @heikok.1960 3 года назад +2

      @@2of2DCH That would be my favorite solution. Clean look, no ugly wire loops in the air. Rugged connector but loose cabling doesn't got together well.

    • @timburton1080
      @timburton1080 3 года назад +2

      @@islandworks to add on to this, the circular connector ideally shouldn't be mounted like that, where you would need to de-pin the connector to separate the connector and the wires to remove it

    When you watch ricards minty video for the Xth time because there are few cool 964 vids out there and then a Jonas vid pops up! Cool, first drive is in sight!

    • @bisondacierr
      @bisondacierr 3 года назад

      also slim fit looks to be the better fit position. But the clamps look like they could be an issue over time when taking G's,etc. Can't you make the cage side like a clamp (what you have done) but the reservoir side like the first mount (closed bolted loop, you don't have to bolt on both sides like the first variant you mande, you can just ad a bolt transversally on the end of the '8'). At the end it looks like a '8' sliced up vertically and bolted together in the middle and in the bottom end. Just a though to get the best of both solutions.

    Option 2 for the rear is the best for attaching to the reservoir using the groves, it's best not to restrict the movement of the piston in it, I found that out with my Penske shocks.

    The adjusters on the canister are high and low speed compression only. Rebound is electronically controlled. External reservoirs generally have very little oil in them. The heat generated from the divider piston is usually the reasoning for separating them remotely. Option 2.

    No weight saving? ;)
    Why not place the circular connector on the green plastic thingy on the side like for the unit in front instead of on the top? That enables the cables to be tucked away a bit nicer (in my opinion)
    Reservoirs in the back, put them high if you want to show them off else I would place them low so they are not distracting/in the way while driving.

    JRZ ser verkligen intressanta ut. Tänkte på ett par saker i din installation av behållarna. Bak: sätt dem lågt och givetvis tillgängliga för justering. Såg på andra installationer av behållare och alla kör bara med EN fastsättning, borde inte det räcka? Fram: sätt dem så långt bak du kan och lågt också för rätt fördelning. Lycka till.

      Det fungerar absolut med en hållare. I mitt fall är de dock gjorda i plast och jag ville finns ett sätt att låsa den mekaniskt utan att klämma hårt. Det finns två fina slitsar på sidorna att göra det med 👍🏻

    I think the round connector needs to point to passenger side, because your elbow will hit it everytime. I would also like to see third hook shape in the print that first ties the rear end to the big round hole, and then you bolt it in at the front.

    • @islandworks
      @islandworks  3 года назад +1

      I was looking at the hook part and think I will actually put a small thread insert instead.
      No worries with the elbow, it is a good distance in between. It would look better with side exit though!
