"Ye best start believing in sci-fi stories, Ms. Swan. Ya living one!" This was such an interesting concept at the time. Instead of Tidal Wave, I imagined them with that Beast Wars Sharkticon battleship. I called it Threaher because his tail became a whip in robot mode. Like Flying Mind, Thresher had a will of its own. And its primary goal was to be able to transform again. So it sent raiding parties to find anything that might help. The pirates have no clue. They think they are pillaging of there own free will. The hero of the story at first seems like he wants revenge against the pirates, then betrays the knights to join the pirates but in reality he wants to save the crew from Thresher's thrall.
Some of the details about their ship, The Thresher reminds me of the Super Sentai series, Seijū Sentai Gingaman(the Japanese counterpart of Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy).
Oh gosh, the pirate voice...This was really fun; the Star Seekers feel like they could use more love in more continuities. After all, who doesn't love robotic space pirates? We already have plenty of robotic ninjas and samurai. Now cowboys on the other hand...

I like to imagine that the rest of the Star Seekers were also original characters inspired by other rival 80's cartoon & anime franchises (Ninja Turtles, He-Man, etc.) instead of just other pre-existing, obscure Transformers.

Lockdown, in my show, is already the leader of the mercenary faction and hates the pirates/star seekers.

Doubledealer isn't a mercenary... cause he's the guy who gives OUT the jobs. Bugbite isn't a Mercenary cause I don't know how I would make him any different than just an evil Bumblebee. Nightbird is apart of a drone army of Nightbirds led by Shockwave.

From how Thundertron's description, I felt like he's like a Sci-fi Davy Jones from Pirates wanting revenge for the Rust plague being unleashed and Cybertorn abandoning all of the colonies.
Ulysses, Spaceship Yamato and the good guys from the Wheeled Warriors will be looking for them. Also, why didn't Hasbro include the BW2 Seacons in the Star Seekers story, possibly as rival space pirates?
@@primalconvoy Maybe they are the descendants of the Star Seekers, since BWII takes place in the future. Although they could at least make Coelagon a member, since he's the equivalent of an old man compared to the rest of team God Neptune.
The fact that the only characters who could hold their own against Transformers Prime Megatron were Optimus Prime, Soundwave, and Thundertron instantly proves that Thundertron was a viable and serious threat that even Megatron would be more wary of facing in combat. Because Megateon probably sees a lot of both himself AND Starscream in Thundertron. And THAT is a VERY DANGEROUS Combination that NOBODY wants to have to deal with and would much rather avoid all together. If the Star Seekers had made it into a fourth season of Transformers Prime or as a main antagonist cast in Robots in Disguise as the eventual final villains then that would've been awesome. They probably would've also been the ones to expose Cybertronians to the world and blown the Autobots cover and further complicate any and all actions taken to counter them by involving humans into their threats. Steeljaw would've honestly fit perfectly into this as the Starscream to Thundertron's Megatron if you will. Only the key difference being that Steeljaw actually gets results and would be much more dangerous because he's better at hiding his true motives and constantly scheming nature, having fooled his leader whos much more unstable then Megatron. Now THAT could've been awesome conclusion to Robots In Disguise 2015. It'd also be a subtle nod to the Aligned Continuity Steeljaw being a completely different character and total departure from the Autobot Minicon from G1 as having Steeljaw frequently bash heads against his leader Thundertron with the back and forth Lion and Wolf alt modes. I would've loved to have seen thus character dynamic and it would've made people a lot more receptive to the cast of rag tag Decepticon stragglers and escapees being the villains if the series. But instead they were more isolated and on their own which proved to not be as developed of a plan to carry out. It also would've negated the need to bring Optimus Prime back so early and have Bumblebee and his new team more time to grow and develop on their own into a more fluent team working alongside Optimus in the final season only. And it would've added more mystery and intrigue to what happened to Optimus and why he was purposely choosing to leave Bumblebee to his own devices and to discover his path to leadership himself instead of having to firce friction between them when they were perfectly capable of working together before in Transformers Prime. And it would've negated the need to effectively "write out Decepticons" from the plot of the Aligned Continuity and would've seen more beloved characters return from Prime and be featured more regularly. Like having Knockout potentially join Bumblebee's team as their medic and further developing as a redemption arc to becoming an Autobot in nature but still proudly more Decepticon. Acknowledging his side lost the war but there were now more important things to worry about and as such becoming more acceptive to toning down his cruel and sadistic nature even opening up to a potential human ally cast member and learning from them. It also would've been amazing to see Knockout interact with Steeljaw and Knockout probably would've developed conflictions against him as he probably saw Starscream very apparent in Steeljaw but also a bit of himself and further reinforcing Knockout's choice to become an Autobot instead. Realizing that he made the right choice and can't go back to being just an opportunist with no real substance or stake at risk. That also would've been an amazing character dynamic with Steeljaw as we saw him still be like in Robots in Disguise 2015. Steeljaw in that show is just a great similar yet contrasting character to have interact with these other characters with different hints of his personality. Maybe someday we'll see something like this with the Star Seekers when they eventually make their grand maiden voyage into a form of main media for the franchise. Also last little side note, Enemy would've made for a hilarious potential brief cameo episode with the Star Seekers before Thundertron would've gitten fed up with him and taken him offline. Just an incredibly mouthy small angsty and volitile Minicon who could've transformed into a reusable Bomb projectile to be thrown by the Star Seekers in battle would've been pretty hilarious and amusing. And mark the first time this quite possibly most obscure character in the franchise made an actual TV appearance.
This is by far the coolest and most fascinating episode so far,I wanted to learn so much about these awesome transformers, thank you Star seekers and thank you Chris ❤😊👍👏
This is a very unique faction of Transformers that I would have liked to see in a Transformers TV show or movie, either animated or live action, because it's rare that we ever get a big enough faction of Cybertronians outside of the Autobots and Decepticons. I really hope that with new Transformers projects on the horizon, we could possibly get to see the Star Raiders in full, glorious and detailed animation that really does them justice. Love the pirate-speech in the intro! Avast there! I'm relatively new to Voltron, but Thundercats I've known for a long time. Knowing that those were the basis for the name Thundertron is super cool! I also love the revelations of who was a part of the crew in the different stories. My friend and I are gonna depict the Star Seekers as a ragtag group of Cybertronians from the colonies, led by Thundertron, aboard the starship Eternal Flight, with members from different colony worlds, not belonging to either Autobot or Decepticon. Who knows what the future has in store for them as they launch themselves on a quest to find a far-off place to call home.
I do like Thundertron as he was unique peg-legged Cybertronian who seeks revenge. Too bad the Star Seekers couldn't appear for the next series of TF: PRIME.

Here’s my idea for a crew. Thundertron(Captain) Flame war(First Mate) Filch Oil Slik Lockdown And Glow-strike(there’s no real reason for that last one I just think she’s a criminally underutilized character)
I think this space pirate crew is a perfect place for characters that are either unaligned or have conflicting feelings in the Autobots-Decepticons war, like Lockdown, Knock-Out, Transmutate(with maybe Rampage), Dreadwing, etc.
Always love the idea Star Seekers (kinda like the Star Raider name better)using the capsule line. I’ve been a fan of non-Decepticon or autobot factions happy they got some recognition in legacy.
In fact, I imagine The Star Seeker Pirates singing the Club Penguin song, Anchors Aweigh among their many pirate shanty songs while sailing across the stars.

I can see a story about cybertronian treasure hunters/explorers (Star Seekers) becoming desperate and vengeful Pirates (Star Raiders) after the plague of rust shuts off contact from their homeworlds, and cybertron itself.
I was very surprised that Thundertron was brought back for Legacy United. With him being a cut character for Prime/Aligned and emblematic of the demise of Hasbro’s plan for Aligned, wouldn’t have expected him to come back for a big major toy before other characters from Prime
I really liked the "crew of clones liberated from a science lab" thing from the botcon star seeker vehicons, they kinda remind me of the pirates from Larklight in that regard.
Fascinating stuff as ever; and hearing the inspiration behind Thundertron's name makes me wonder whether we'll get an official Transformers/Thundercats crossover figure in due course - I mean, a Thundertank that transforms into a cat-headed robot who carries his own giant Sword of Omens would be pretty darn cool in my view at least, yes...?
It's always good to add another faction to the Transformers Universe. Especially when you could pretty much do whatever you want with the characters. Leave them as pirates and raiders. Or even turn these scattered Transformers into an all powerful empire. That keeps the Autobots and Decepticons fighting for their existence. Like the Huns did over the Western and Eastern Roman Empires.
I'd love to see some of the predators from G1 UK as Star Raiders like Skyquake and Stalker, maybe hooligan and RID 15 clampdown along with Cybertron thunderblast, dirt boss, crumplezone, and ransack
The idea of a 3rd party transformers group comprising of abandoned or disgruntled Autobots and Decepticons has so much potential. They’re basically a wild card. It sucks most writers and Hasbro never use them. Maybe one day.
It’s pretty sweet, whether it’s the release of him by himself or that multipack with him. Especially if you’re a fan of Zoids, his lion mode has a lot of similar design inspirations.
I REALLY LIKE the idea that originally Dreadwing's vengeance would've had a less fully lethal wound and he would've turned up 2 seasons later with the unaligned third faction
I really enjoyed this video today. I'm 45 years old and know G1 the most. Star Seekers are new to me. I would like to see them in a more mainstream setting. I like the Renegades too.

I think Deep Dive from Reveal the Shield would be an awesome addition to the crew! It's a weird obscure character who really hasn't gotten any spotlight anywhere else, so his story can be told freely there!

The whole story of the Aligned Continuity by Rik Alvarez's account is so funny. He created this whole vast bible full of concepts and characters and claimed it was going to last the franchise ten years, and then nearly every other person involved, especially those working on the franchise's big flagship of Transformers Prime, went "hmm, no, that sounds kind of dumb", and ignored it. Then again, Alvarez's big post-Transformers work consisted of a failed Kickstarter for overpriced third-party Pretenders that he insisted weren't just the Pretenders, so maybe they were on to something.
These Star Seekers should get their own animated series, either made by Hasbro, or some YT animator. Either way that would be one heck of an awesome show
While not canon; I think Seacons (The first space pirates from BWII) were part of the Star Seekers but Thundertron and Halfshell didn't see optic to optic (Cannonball secretly weeping fake rumors to Thundertron and Halfshell so both would eventually fight each other in hope both would destroy each other, Cannonball would take Sate seekers) so Halfshell took his crew and broke out from Star Seekers.
Considering the BWII is set in future I prefer to see the Seacons as the descendants/successors of the Star Seekers/Raiders as I doubt Thundertron and Cannonball would still be around considering Cybertron is at peace
Thundertron being a resentful survivor in a way, makes sense. If there are knights, there are pirates that resented the very people who were supposed to defend them. What be overthinkin' a blue curtain does to ye mind, scallywag! Being a combination of two franchises that failed to adapt since one became a punching bag for cartoon critics (thundercats roar!), and the other was fed to a remorseless side of twitter (fandom, netflix voltron). Thundertron barely escaped the carnage and hated the surviving IPs from the 90s, upon noting that TMNT and DuckTales was thriving as well, not just The Transformers. Very meta.
I mean... obviously Beast Wars Lazorbeak would be gunning for the captain's chair. But that might also be a bit of a deep cut, depending on who read that comic.

just did a one shot around these guys. my star seeker crew was wildwheel, lockdown, alpha strike and shadow striker. lockdown was the head of the whole thing, they were trying to get a key what turns velocitron into a giant weapon to start raiding other planets with velocitron.
I can imagine a episode or even a movie similar to POTC where the plot revolves around the Autobots chasing down the Star Seekers/Raider who have the similar goal to Springload where they kidnap him and took the Sphere to find Doradus and claim it untold riches not knowing the city and the treasures are cursed!
I think I'm wrecking my brain trying to think about members, but g1 chop shop would definitely fit, since hes essentially just a kleptomaniac. Also I think g1 finback becuz hes described as an old sailor or something if i remember correctly. As for anything non g1, well im kinda drawing a blank, beyond inside joke characters that have been canned irl (like the g2 flipchangers) because that fits the original aligned backstory

The fact that the only characters who could hold their own against Transformers Prime Megatron were Optimus Prime, Soundwave, and Thundertron instantly proves that Thundertron was a viable and serious threat that even Megatron would be more wary of facing in combat. Because Megateon probably sees a lot of both himself AND Starscream in Thundertron. And THAT is a VERY DANGEROUS Combination that NOBODY wants to have to deal with and would much rather avoid all together.
If the Star Seekers had made it into a fourth season of Transformers Prime or as a main antagonist cast in Robots in Disguise as the eventual final villains then that would've been awesome. They probably would've also been the ones to expose Cybertronians to the world and blown the Autobots cover and further complicate any and all actions taken to counter them by involving humans into their threats. Steeljaw would've honestly fit perfectly into this as the Starscream to Thundertron's Megatron if you will. Only the key difference being that Steeljaw actually gets results and would be much more dangerous because he's better at hiding his true motives and constantly scheming nature, having fooled his leader whos much more unstable then Megatron. Now THAT could've been awesome conclusion to Robots In Disguise 2015.
It'd also be a subtle nod to the Aligned Continuity Steeljaw being a completely different character and total departure from the Autobot Minicon from G1 as having Steeljaw frequently bash heads against his leader Thundertron with the back and forth Lion and Wolf alt modes. I would've loved to have seen thus character dynamic and it would've made people a lot more receptive to the cast of rag tag Decepticon stragglers and escapees being the villains if the series. But instead they were more isolated and on their own which proved to not be as developed of a plan to carry out. It also would've negated the need to bring Optimus Prime back so early and have Bumblebee and his new team more time to grow and develop on their own into a more fluent team working alongside Optimus in the final season only. And it would've added more mystery and intrigue to what happened to Optimus and why he was purposely choosing to leave Bumblebee to his own devices and to discover his path to leadership himself instead of having to firce friction between them when they were perfectly capable of working together before in Transformers Prime.
And it would've negated the need to effectively "write out Decepticons" from the plot of the Aligned Continuity and would've seen more beloved characters return from Prime and be featured more regularly. Like having Knockout potentially join Bumblebee's team as their medic and further developing as a redemption arc to becoming an Autobot in nature but still proudly more Decepticon. Acknowledging his side lost the war but there were now more important things to worry about and as such becoming more acceptive to toning down his cruel and sadistic nature even opening up to a potential human ally cast member and learning from them. It also would've been amazing to see Knockout interact with Steeljaw and Knockout probably would've developed conflictions against him as he probably saw Starscream very apparent in Steeljaw but also a bit of himself and further reinforcing Knockout's choice to become an Autobot instead. Realizing that he made the right choice and can't go back to being just an opportunist with no real substance or stake at risk. That also would've been an amazing character dynamic with Steeljaw as we saw him still be like in Robots in Disguise 2015. Steeljaw in that show is just a great similar yet contrasting character to have interact with these other characters with different hints of his personality.
Maybe someday we'll see something like this with the Star Seekers when they eventually make their grand maiden voyage into a form of main media for the franchise.
Also last little side note, Enemy would've made for a hilarious potential brief cameo episode with the Star Seekers before Thundertron would've gitten fed up with him and taken him offline. Just an incredibly mouthy small angsty and volitile Minicon who could've transformed into a reusable Bomb projectile to be thrown by the Star Seekers in battle would've been pretty hilarious and amusing. And mark the first time this quite possibly most obscure character in the franchise made an actual TV appearance.
This is by far the coolest and most fascinating episode so far,I wanted to learn so much about these awesome transformers, thank you Star seekers and thank you Chris ❤😊👍👏

This is a very unique faction of Transformers that I would have liked to see in a Transformers TV show or movie, either animated or live action, because it's rare that we ever get a big enough faction of Cybertronians outside of the Autobots and Decepticons. I really hope that with new Transformers projects on the horizon, we could possibly get to see the Star Raiders in full, glorious and detailed animation that really does them justice. I'm relatively new to Voltron, but Thundercats I've known for a long time. Knowing that those were the basis for the name Thundertron is super cool! I also love the revelations of who was a part of the crew in the different stories.
My friend and I are gonna depict the Star Seekers as a ragtag group of Cybertronians from the colonies, led by Thundertron, aboard the starship Eternal Flight, with members from different colony worlds, not belonging to either Autobot or Decepticon. Who knows what the future has in store for them as they launch themselves on a quest to find a far-off place to call home.

I think this space pirate crew is a perfect place for characters that are either unaligned or have conflicting feelings in the Autobots-Decepticons war, like Lockdown, Knock-Out, Transmutate(with maybe Rampage), Dreadwing, etc.
Sky-Byte would also fit perfectly into this group.

I can see a story about cybertronian treasure hunters/explorers (Star Seekers) becoming desperate and vengeful Pirates (Star Raiders) after the plague of rust shuts off contact from their homeworlds, and cybertron itself.
I was very surprised that Thundertron was brought back for Legacy United. With him being a cut character for Prime/Aligned and emblematic of the demise of Hasbro’s plan for Aligned, wouldn’t have expected him to come back for a big major toy before other characters from Prime
I really liked the "crew of clones liberated from a science lab" thing from the botcon star seeker vehicons, they kinda remind me of the pirates from Larklight in that regard.

It's always good to add another faction to the Transformers Universe. Especially when you could pretty much do whatever you want with the characters. Leave them as pirates and raiders.
Or even turn these scattered Transformers into an all powerful empire. That keeps the Autobots and Decepticons fighting for their existence.
Like the Huns did over the Western and Eastern Roman Empires.
I'd love to see some of the predators from G1 UK as Star Raiders like Skyquake and Stalker, maybe hooligan and RID 15 clampdown along with Cybertron thunderblast, dirt boss, crumplezone, and ransack

The idea of a 3rd party transformers group comprising of abandoned or disgruntled Autobots and Decepticons has so much potential. They’re basically a wild card. It sucks most writers and Hasbro never use them. Maybe one day.

I think Deep Dive from Reveal the Shield would be an awesome addition to the crew! It's a weird obscure character who really hasn't gotten any spotlight anywhere else, so his story can be told freely there!

The whole story of the Aligned Continuity by Rik Alvarez's account is so funny. He created this whole vast bible full of concepts and characters and claimed it was going to last the franchise ten years, and then nearly every other person involved, especially those working on the franchise's big flagship of Transformers Prime, went "hmm, no, that sounds kind of dumb", and ignored it.
Then again, Alvarez's big post-Transformers work consisted of a failed Kickstarter for overpriced third-party Pretenders that he insisted weren't just the Pretenders, so maybe they were on to something.
The Aligned continuity was a mess.

While not canon; I think Seacons (The first space pirates from BWII) were part of the Star Seekers but Thundertron and Halfshell didn't see optic to optic (Cannonball secretly weeping fake rumors to Thundertron and Halfshell so both would eventually fight each other in hope both would destroy each other, Cannonball would take Sate seekers) so Halfshell took his crew and broke out from Star Seekers.
Considering the BWII is set in future I prefer to see the Seacons as the descendants/successors of the Star Seekers/Raiders as I doubt Thundertron and Cannonball would still be around considering Cybertron is at peace

Thundertron being a resentful survivor in a way, makes sense. If there are knights, there are pirates that resented the very people who were supposed to defend them. What be overthinkin' a blue curtain does to ye mind, scallywag! Being a combination of two franchises that failed to adapt since one became a punching bag for cartoon critics (thundercats roar!), and the other was fed to a remorseless side of twitter (fandom, netflix voltron). Thundertron barely escaped the carnage and hated the surviving IPs from the 90s, upon noting that TMNT and DuckTales was thriving as well, not just The Transformers. Very meta.

I’ve been rewatching G1, and recently got to the episode where they introduced Sandstorm so it was a shock to hear his name on the roster.
Not even the most surprising thing to happen to Sandstorm from around this time. Look up Sandstorm in IDW.

just did a one shot around these guys. my star seeker crew was wildwheel, lockdown, alpha strike and shadow striker. lockdown was the head of the whole thing, they were trying to get a key what turns velocitron into a giant weapon to start raiding other planets with velocitron.
T-Wrecks. I think the Generations Tankor would work as a generic soldier for the crew.
I can imagine a episode or even a movie similar to POTC where the plot revolves around the Autobots chasing down the Star Seekers/Raider who have the similar goal to Springload where they kidnap him and took the Sphere to find Doradus and claim it untold riches not knowing the city and the treasures are cursed!
I think I'm wrecking my brain trying to think about members, but g1 chop shop would definitely fit, since hes essentially just a kleptomaniac. Also I think g1 finback becuz hes described as an old sailor or something if i remember correctly.
As for anything non g1, well im kinda drawing a blank, beyond inside joke characters that have been canned irl (like the g2 flipchangers) because that fits the original aligned backstory
