Dave is really becomming a good interviewer. Normal World rules!
It's like he cares who he asks on to the show.
Any company that sponsors Normal World has to have awesome people working there
Or very naive people working there.
@@greatestytcommentatorit’s both. Awesome employees, naive management
Can Matt carry Manjela out every episode? That would be fuckin amazing. Thanks, guys.
Next ep, he body slams him 😂🎉
I hope the younger audience members look up all these bands/singers being mentioned. They’re all so excellent!
The variety of guests is insane! I absolutely love it, especially when Dave talks music, he’s got great taste. Never leave us Dave!
Love the Pietasters, and these 90's Conan skits have been killing me.
18:40 that story was awesome. When he said they chase him down and beat him for the remainder of the song. Lol.hilarious.
Best show ever. Definitely bring Steve back.
Oh my God! When you said “I had to spray down a suitcase with Lysol” I nearly died! Just an hour ago I had to Lysol my son’s tablet because he had it in the car today. My wife nearly made him change his clothes because it touched his pajamas.
Creepy!!
(Because you give your son a tablet) hahhahahahahahahha
huh? elaborate
@@truthonly7699 they were referencing Matt’s wife as being OCD. My wife is as well. She has the need to use Lysol wipes on anything, has several pairs of socks for multiple situations throughout the day all over the house. Washes her feet if when she returns from the outside and/or is in a bathroom, washes her hands 3 times (and feet) after using said bathroom, and washes her hands and feet 6-10 times before leaving the shower. Is that enough elaboration?
Oh my!
Very 😢
I remember seeing The Pietasters back in the late 90's. They rocked!
I love that Dave is such an music aficionado and he has all these different artists. Come on and talk about their work. It’s really cool. I learned a lot.
About Henry Rollins, I just wanted to say that the guy has changed a lot. I ran into him at work a little over a year ago, and his kindness, openness, and lack of ego was amazing. He is honestly more down-to-Earth than a majority of people you’ll run into on a daily basis that AREN’T popular. He was a regular at the place I was at and EVERYONE told me that I would have no issue approaching him to just say, “Hey, you’re awesome, your work has meant a lot to me.” AFTER he was done doing what he was doing there. He happened to have the time (he’s usually busy and at wouldn’t expect this out of him) and he literally talked with me, unprompted, and just like a normal guy for like 2 hours. Unreal. I asked if he would be down to take a quick video to say “Merry Christmas” to my mom because she loved him and he said, “Of course, I love mom’s!” The dude is amazing, he appreciates everyone who is kind, he’s kind to everyone else, and I’ve heard the exact same thing from everyone else. Henry, if you’re somehow reading this. Thank you! My mom nearly fainted, she said it was the best Christmas gift she’s ever been given! Again, he’s busy, don’t expect him to have that kind of time, I just caught him at the right moment, we had a fascinating conversation and if you do see him, just say “Hey, you’re awesome.” or “I love your work.” and move on. He will appreciate it as long as he’s not in the middle of doing something. In other words, have some common sense, when choosing to say hello and ensure that it’s brief because he doesn’t have time to be stopped by everyone lol
Time changes people, it’s only made him a better dude, and I haven’t heard anything different from anyone else who thinks he’s “somebody” or even just “another guy”.
Age and wisdom changes most of us. I hate THATS people cannot understand that. I am not the same moron I was at 18 or early 20’s either and thank god. Lol.
3rd wave ska represented on Normal World ? Merry Christmas.
It’s on par for Dave but it was a very cool surprise.

The most insightful thing Ive heard in atleast a year ,"it's just walk hard" . Literally ever ill fated musician's story movie made by Big Corp Hollywood ever.
This might be my favorite podcast. I grow up listening to Ska and punk. Op ivy and the Aquabats get me in.
You're awesome, Matt!
I can’t wait to take my wife to your Billings show so stoked your coming here
Great show!! Bands on the Bus on the road...yep, its always an adventure, And I will always look back with a big smile😄
Dave's totally right about music biopics, how they all hit the same beats. That's why I really liked 8 Mile. I'm not really into rap past Dre and Snoop's early 90s stuff, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good 8 Mile was. He wins the rap battle and then has to go to his shift at the car parts factory. Brilliant on the part of the filmmakers.
Me and my friends got pulled over in Detroit once by Michigan Highway Patrol. We asked why we were pulled over. The cop said he thought we were drug dealers since we were of lighter pigment in a darker neighborhood. We got reverse profiled. He let us go. Memory's.
🎶When I go out, I lay in the street, I eat mashed potatoes, I GET HIT BY CARS!"🎶 -Five Iron Frenzy
Moon Records!!! I listened to OoLooLoo 10,000 times
Amazing episode. And no one reads ads like Dave.
He's so entertaining that you almost forget he's reading an ad.
A crossover I never expected and I love it. The Pietasters are one of my favorite bands and Steve is one of my favorite singers. So much grit and passion in his voice. A pleasant surprise to find out he's not a douchebag like members of so many other bands I like.
Steve is my hero!!!
Mangela is back!! Yassss👏👏👏🤘😎
Dave! Prison 10, well done sir very very well done.
Spread the word, Amazon seems to be hiding it
I remember Ska ! Loved Madness from the UK and UB40 ! Had The Mighty Bosstones on my playlist for a very long time. I
matt and derek need to be regulars. they add so much to the show and are both hilarious as hell
Love some Reverend Horton Heat. Favorite song of course is Big Red Rocket Of Love.

Well you got my attention when you brought up Harpos.
Mid 90's in my opinion was the best era for ska punk and hardcore

This show! This one. Thank you for this one.
Another super entertaining show guys, love y'all at Normal World
I GOT MY FUCKIN PANTS FROM FUCKIN NORMAL WORLD!
My uncle used to be the drummer for reverend Horton heat
Control was a decent movie about a tragic musicians life and death but it did not follow the usual tropes. Then again Ian Curtis and his suicide were far from the usual musician tragedy story, plus he died before Joy Division quote unquote made it big (although they were on their way and probably would have been just as big as New Order became), plus it was made in England and not Hollywood, I am sure that helped.
Great show Angela!!!
Angel-A has such an attractive laugh, a real infectious chuckle ❤
29:08 lmfao “the best kind”
🎩 ello 🙋🏼♂️ great show...
Watch the "Bite it you scum" live video....theres that one guy there they keep showing like nonchalantly bobbing his head while poops getting flung all prepped out its too good
OMFG, "Marion Barry and James Brown is not a night most white guys would survive" Dave, you are hilarious
Hepcat is absolutely the greatest trad ska band, rip Greg
Thank you Dave for bring up my two favorite punks, Darby Crash & GG Allin. It was their music that got me to do a band. They Steve mentioned Tesco Vee. it made my night

16:18 Me, a big fan of ska and big band: “Why would the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies’ audience hate you???”
Tesco Vee is the greatest!!!
the Meatmen Suck, haha you know
Immediately on the news of her death. Rumours had it that Winehouse had been suicided (snuffed) because.? Like Hendrix. Morison and Cobain.? Her material was worth more if she was dead than alive. That and more acceptably compliant "artists" like Adel and Duffy, were being pushed to the curb by her uncontrollable popularity.... And that both Adel and Duffy posed with similar sounding vocalisations as Winehouse.. Eventually, Adel coming out on top, over all!
There is a YT channel called “Barely Sociable”. He did a great video on “The Death Clause”, which is in nearly every musician’s contract. Highly recommend.
Morrison I'm highly dubious about, but Hendrix and Cobain definitely;Hendrix's manager was ready to drop him over some personal sh!+ about Mitch Mitchell and his jealousy over Hendrix supposedly hitting on his girlfriend, and as for Cobain, well, all I can say is Courtney f!@$in Love.
check out Against All Authority, Less Than Jake, Operation Ivy, these bands were not main stream mtv boring radio friendly shit
No one likes Henry Rollins because Henry Rollins likes no one.
Precisely why I like him;Rollins
gives ZERO f!@$s. 🤘😝🤘

With attitude like that I don't know if I want to try your perfect jeans
Manager at a laser tag
Who is piscali?
That guy is only 41?! Daamn
I turned 60 next Friday and I look younger
Only 41* is the oldest thing I've read this week
Please start a company like forever 21 but its called "only 41"
I thought he was my age or older. Lol. I am 52. Lol. A hard party life seems to effect people hard. Lol.
Unpopular opinion, but Amy Winehouse is just like River Pheonix and James Dean. A flawed person that EVERYONE would be calling a junkie if not for showing some real potential. But because of that potential, they are labeled "tortured geniuses" instead. They are also treated as though they actually lived up to that potential or were guaranteed to live up to that potential. Practically nobody can or ever has lived up the "legends" people assume these 3 would have become if not for their untimely and, to varying degrees, self inflicted deaths.
That's like 99.9% horns, right?
I don't understand ska. I like it but I don't understand it. What is it? It's like getting cancer that makes you better and then goes away. It's like watching a train wreck but nobody gets hurt. If ska had never existed the world would remain unchanged. Fun music, I like it.
I've never heard that song, but when we see fat people as long as I can remember I've said "who ate all the pies?"
Matt is now Dave's enforcer an it's hilarious. Also, there is no joke that goes too far when it comes to the amish and mennonites. They are a joke to begin with.
WOW, what did they ever do to you?
Fr it's not like they can defend themselves.
@thewisceeeggg1624 Mennonites and Amish screwed my Dad out of $180,000 and 4 years of time and effort. Also they treat women like cattle, they treat anyone who isn't Amish or Mennonite like subhumans especially non whites, and they generally are unpleasant people. I have no respect for them.
NOOOOO! Men don't wear leggings! (perfectjeans)
Sublime was the biggest ska band.
No 100 on likes!
Henry Rollins is a Legend
in his own mind
Wonder if ANTHONY CUMIA for once would be a guest
Just replace ANGELA with LAUREN CHEN & have a superior product anyway
