    A few very important pointers that these vids did not show:
    1. Henna should be applied on a clean hair like within 1-2 days of washing and not on greasy hair as it gets stuck with the oil and the main purpose is not solved.
    2. Henna should not be left in ur head for more than 2 hours as it can make ur hair extremely dry.
    3. After washing henna don’t shampoo it unless u don’t want the stain to stay.
    4. If u want then after washing out henna apply oil to ur hair to prevent the dryness and nourish and condition your own and then wash it again next day.
    So basically it’s a 3-day process but the results are so damn worth it..I myself have been using it for two years and the quality of my hair has improved so much.

      lol not true!! the traditional way is to use pure henna powder and prep it yourself never pre made or marketed as ‘hair dye’. my mum would use a whole mixing bowl on my head and then cling film wrap it to stop it drying then i’d sit for 8 HOURS as long as i could before washing it… its the same as henna for your skin

      I've been using henna almost 15 years and this actually isn't true, and gives people a lot of anxiety about trying henna. Just mix the paste, put it on your hair, and calm down. It's nearly impossible to destroy your hair with henna unless it is adulterated (contaminated) with PPD or metallic salts.

    Try using a bit of acidity like lemon juice or yoghurt unsweetened or acv, use a bit of normal tea leaves to the water tht u use like boil it n thn add henna powder. Put the paste in 8-10 hrs or overnight fr a better colour. Thn apply. Whn washing dont use shampoo. Use after 1-2 days. Oil ur hair first. U will surely love ur hair colour after tht

    Someone already said it but lemme just say it again… do not use metal to mix it! Wood, glass or plastic utensils/bowls. Mixing in metal gives the possibility of a green tint.
    Also it is possible to very carefully lift henna, but even if you do that successfully it will still be in your hair. Definitely not temporary, it should be a commitment.

    1. NEVER use boiling water on henna. It should be hot, distilled water. Alternatively, you can use hot tea or coffee to make the henna darker or chamomile tea to make it more copper.
    2. If your henna is 100% pure then mixing it in a metal bowl is fine. But if it has additives, don't.
    3. Add about 1-2 teaspoons of aloe vera powder in your mix to keep the henna from drying your hair out. You can also add some drops of essential oil if you don't like the smell of henna.
    4. If you want copper hair, use one part henna and one part cassia obovata. If you want brown hair, add indigo.
    5. If you have curly hair, henna can stretch your curls out and ruin the pattern. Adding amla powder to the mix can prevent that.
    6. Don't wash your hair with shampoo to remove henna (use conditioner or a co-wash), and don't wash your hair for 3 days after doing henna. Also, henna should be applied on freshly washed, damp hair (just shampoo, no conditioner).

      @mushroom.mustang 2 года назад +3

      it depends on what you mean by ‘work’. henna has been traditionally used by cultures who generally have dark hair for thousands of years - so definitely yes. however it’s not a natural lightener, it usually adds a red tint to the hair. sometimes this gives the illusion of making black hair more brown i guess ? but it’s not technically lightening it. you’d have to use a lightener

    • @jenniferibarra7737
      @jenniferibarra7737 Год назад +3

      Yes but instead of warm water to mix u need to make the water yellow/golden tint by adding chamomile tea bags and u have to add a spoon of honey or olive oil and lemon to make it lighter ! And then u leave the henna mixture in the fridge for 5 hours to really get tinted!!! Then u apply it to your hair for 2 hours

    2. Henna is not temporary (or at least not the hair dye henna)
    3. you don’t have to use a whole bottle of conditioner
    4. You don’t have to leave it on for 6 HOURS!!
    5. DONT ONLY USE LEMON JUICE AS A LIQUID WHEN MAKING HENNA DYE 😭😭LEMON JUICE IS SOOOO ACIDIC AND BAD FOR THE SKIN/SCALP

    • @miri384
      @miri384 2 года назад +5

      The henna color is a permanent dye but your real hair color can be brought back. You would just have to wait for your hair to grow out again because henna can’t be mixed with normal chemical dye.
      For example, say you dyed your hair black with henna and your natural hair color is blonde. Say after two months you got tired of the black henna color and wanted your blonde hair back. You wouldn’t be able to dye it blonde with box dye because henna is a natural plant dye and once it’s in your hair there’s no way to get it out except by waiting for your hair to grow out and getting hair trims until your hair is fully blonde again.
      So henna is permanent but that doesn’t mean you can’t get your natural hair color back, you would just have to wait for your hair to grow out again before trying out different henna colors or box dye. It’s a good thing to be aware of this before trying out henna because the whole process of dyeing the hair and then having to wait for it to grow out before trying something different takes a long time & commitment. I hope that helps. :)
