I believe you have been the only person in these tutorials that has mentioned “accommodations “ for our ELL’s and “diverse learners “. Thank you 😊!
This was probably the BEST PD I've had in years. You are so incredibly helpful and you do not waste time. Really appreciate your videos.
Thank you for this so helpful! I used mote in the spring and loved how much time it cut down on giving feed back but I didn’t realize my students didn’t get to hear my voice. The random name picked-that’s a game changer! 🙏
Thanks so much, John. This is extremely helpful. As always, you communicate clearly and I can go right to the things you are talking about it and follow you step by step.
I love this video, so informative, creative, and entertaining! The pop-up animations are the best, would love to know how to do that.
Thank you. This just streamlined my use of Google Classroom.
Terrific job, John!! Keep them coming!
Thank you. This was very helpful. I agree, we need this type of tutorial that mentions "accommodations" for diverse learners.
I'm late but this is a great resource tool! I want to master Google Classroom, Flipgrid, Google Slides, and EdPuzzle this year. I feel like those 4 will really help me improve engagement and student learning.
I could seriously hug you for sharing such great tips that will save soooo much time! Thank you!
Thanks so much, John. This is extremely helpful.
Thank you for all the great educational videos; I work from home and I teach others how to work from home, your videos help me to refine my skills. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for all the helpful information. I appreciate it,
Thank you for so much for providing the accommodation for ELs.
I’ll be re-watching this! Thank you!
Omg this was a lifesaver! Thank you so very much!
Hi from the Philippines. Thanks for the tips! And great video!
Great tips, 1st time I’ve heard about the # for comments and student selector...thanks!
Love the Mote extension!!
Thanks for the great information. I definitely am going to check out the Mote app. I am a school librarian, so I love that your students are characters from Chronicles of Narnia. 😎
Love that too!
This video is a game changer! Thank you so much! So many gems.
Another excellent video tutorial John... thanks!
*Thank You!* Awesome time-saving tips.
During this distance learning fad (totally going to go away soon right?), I'm really liking the guardian email summary feature of Google Classroom! It's been great to keep parents informed regularly in a concise and timely manner. It also helps to keep their kid accountable.
Thank you for this video! I appreciate the help.
Hi John! I was wondering if you had any videos on how to teach students how to use the basic features of a chromebook? I am teaching a 3/4 split and I’m sure many of them don’t know the basics yet. Thank you!
Thank you! you are incredibly helpful!!
Very helpful and will save me time. Thanks!
I saw another teacher also recommend using the shortcuts in Google Docs also as a way for putting in the really common comments.
That’s awesomeness! I used a rubric, but it wasn’t on the side as you show it. My principal wants to see everything.
This was super helpful! Thank you!
Thank you for all your videos. Very helpful!
Very helpful tips! Thanks for sharing.
I like the idea of having the GC on my phone. Thank you!
Really helpful! Thank you 🙏🏽
On a macbook > system preferences > keyboard > dictation to turn on speak to type (like on a phone or tablet) ✅
These are all great to know! Thank you! How do I make the extensions appear in the toolbar?
I always enjoy your videos. Thank you so much!
🙏❤️
Fantastic tips! Thank you!
Killing it as always!!!
Loved this video! I've been using Google Classroom for years and never knew about the student selector! Question: on the mobile app, there was a button that showed me notifications. Now, it seems to have disappeared but I don't even know how it got there to begin with! Any ideas? Thanks!
I really enjoy your videos..super helpful and informative. I have a question about your filming set-up. Do you have a video or blog post where you show/explain the software/equipment you use to film your videos? Thanks!
Not yet, it has been a popular request though. I'll add it to my video queue!
Thank you for the great information.
Very helpful! I am ever so grateful!
Thank you, John!
Very helpful video. Thanks
V helpful, thanks for posting:)
you're amazing!
Love Screencastify!!!
🙏💚
Could you do a tutorial about setting up breakout groups/rooms in Google Meet?
Sure thing! ruclips.net/video/2if3dOw5pKo/видео.html
Great video! Thanks for sharing such good ideas!
Great tips, thank you!
Hey, John, I love your videos! Such great info all the time. What document camera are you using?
Hello John, I just want to echo this question. What is the doc camera brand, and do you recommend it for teachers who want to teach remotely using their doc cam? Thank you!
Looks like an Ipevo wireless HD document camera!
@@davidraabe3665 Thank you!
I am loving the gifs!
Thank you for this informative and engaging video.
Thank you, Karen!
Thanks so much for the comment help. The # trick to add comments is SO much faster ! Plus Mote is great !
🙌
Thanks so much Very helpful
Thank you!!!
Thank you so much!!!
How do you get the transition slides into your video? I would like to use screencastify.
I also bought the same overhead camera as well. What do you think? Im a bit dissapointed that it only has direct wifi rather than bluetooth, but it looks very promising.
I am repeat commenting here again on this most recent video hoping you will see it :) Thank you so much for your great and super helpful videos!
Can you explain how to "see" students on my laptop during meets when I can only see myself on my screen? The recording has images of kids I call on pop up when they answer but I do not see them!
Also, I did not realize I was being recorded and show up on the side while I was sharing my full screen....!
Hi John.
Thanks for sharing the useful tips. I have a question regarding Mote extension that you recommend. Is Mote same as Talk and Comment extension? In order for students to received the voice recording, do they need to install the extension as well? Please kindly advice, thanks. Amy
P.S. Also, I try the Talk and Comment on jamboard, copied the link but there is no where for me to insert the link to send the recording.
I have that shirt! Thanks for keeping me up-to-date.
☺️
its helpful and i want to learn more.
Great Info! Do you know if there is a work around for group work submissions? Is there a way one student can submit for everyone?
Do you use the gradebook feature in Google? I’m asking because I am wondering if you have thought about the next step in the process, which is putting those grades into a grade book. If you only assign the work to the student you want to turn it in. The other’s won’t see it on their classwork list which means you won’t be able to give them a grade. This also follows when giving feedback, the group won’t be able to see the feedback easily if only one student is assigned.
That was a lot but if you give me some more info I can help you to continue to think through it.
Excellent video.
Nice "Lion, Witch and Wardrobe" reference
😉
Great!
Hello, John. I appreciate your clear videos: they are very useful and accessible to non native English speakers as I am. I am an Argentinian Maths teacher and I use a Chromebook to get in touch with my school pupils. That's why I need some graphic tablet compatible with Chrome OS in order to write down mathematical equations and so on. I've been told about Wacom tablets, but they informed me they're only compatible with Windows and Mac. Do you have any solutions for this? Thank you for your attention.
Just buy a touch screen Chromebook! That is what I use.
@@jrsowash What model do you suggest? Take affordability in account.
We have to do Wellness activities everyday and I think this is where I post my wellness.
Great video
please tell us more....I mean it. Thank you so much, John!
🙏❤️
thank you
This is an awesome video, thank you. Are you able to explain why comments which I add to the actual pdf/jpgs, etc which are submitted by my students cannot be seen by them after I return the homework?
Will you confirm that you returned the assignments to the student? They will not be able to see the comments unless you click the return button in Google classroom.
I could not find Mote on the extensions manager nor on the G Suite Marketplace. Not sure if they've discontinued it, but I like the idea. Thanks for the great pointers.
Just do a Google search for mote voice comments.
@@jrsowash Thank you so much! I do a lot of notes!!
What stylus are you using with tha tab?
That’s what I do with Stream!
I keep wondering - How do you have a student account??? Because I'm a teacher my log in is ALWAYS as an "
administrator" but I'd love to see Google Classroom as the kids see it. How do you do that???
just use another google account to enter the classroom as a student. I have two different account , desktop on Teacher , Mobile on student
I ❤️ the Narnian class members!!!!
😀❤️
Do you know when G-Meets will have breakout rooms without the need for extensions or multiple meets?
The google education site said October
Hi there! Which document camera are you using in this video. I want to get one. Thanks!
I'm using an @ipevo document camera which works wonderfully with Chromebooks.
@@jrsowash Thank you!!!
This is what I do!
Does Screencastify have internal audio? I was using Loom until I realized that when recording my Meets, I was the only one that could be heard.
Yes, screencastify will record system audio as well.
Thanks.
👍
Super
I am a high school math teacher and we are trying to find a better way to maintain some sort of test security when giving quizzes and tests. When using Student Selector, can the Sam who is in Group A see the other students who are also receiving that assignment? I am thinking of assigning Quiz A to a group of 5 students, Quiz B to another group of 5 and so on. Can the students who receive the assignment for Quiz A see who else received that assignment? Also, do the students in Group A see that there is an assignment for Group B? Thank you.
Yes, that will work. Students cannot see who else in the class has received the same assignment.
Question: According to GC Support; I should be able to send students an Invite Link. It is supposed to be in "More" section on the class card in the GC homepage. I cannot find this Invite Link; all I see is the class code. I want a direct link I can text students or post online. Any help? Thanks!
You can invite them via email from the People tab. 2 ways to add students; they join using the class code (which you could text or email that to them) or an email invite.
Can you make a detailed video on screen castify?
Have you already seen this one?

I am not able to mute or unmute students or control their camera. Teachers that are enrolled as students are able to control my class how can I fix this with out kicking the teacher out? I heard this happens because the email is a teachers email.
I would like a seating chart in Google Meet. I have to keep looking all over the screen for kids. Thank you.
Hi, that would be nice feature! You can always try control f to search.
@12:40 What does a student see or hear if they do not have the Mote extension?
They get a link to mote.com where they can listen to your voice recording.
Good explanation, but sometimes you skip the page where to move next step to show yourself
You said the student doesn't have to have the mote extension installed, but then how do they play the voice memo? Thanks, really good video.
The link will still be displayed in the comment. If students don't have the mode extension they have to click the link to listen to the recording.
@@jrsowash So if they do not have the extension they also do not see the transcription?
How do your get mote to work with Google Classroom?
sir John i reaaly loved this tutorial , i am not yet finished meaning i paused because it catches my attention on 'plagiarism'? qouting a sample of a rubric in 7:40.....
Yes! Check out my channel for videos on rubrics and the originality report.
What am I doing wrong? I adjusted notifications in order to streamline my STREAM but when I go to post announcements on the stream it literally doesn't allow me to post...
Do you see "share something with your class" at the top of the stream page?
yeah yeah i get it
My math students are submitting their homework as pdf files. Will the comment feature work to add the "pre-written"comments to a pdf file.
Unfortunately no. The comment bank only works with Google Drive file types
I need Mote!
Omg just the first tip had me immediately messaging my colleagues
😀
