This brings back memories of when I lived in North Dakota as a child. I can’t wait to recreate this recipe! I’ve always compared pastries to the Kringle I had as a child🥰

I am glad this recipe brings back good memories. My Minnesotan mother and grandmother used to make this pastry. I hope you enjoy it!

Looks exactly like my mom used to make! I'll watch this so I can understand her written recipe better, because it's a little more stripped-down than I'm used to.

I hope it turns out well for you. It is definitely worth making.

My mom and grandmother made kringles for Birthdays, ”Midsommar” and Christmas. I love them. Good memories! / Ingela from Sweden

I've been making this recipe for decades, got it out of the Betty Crocker cookbook from the 70s.....it's called 'Almond Slice' in that book.....Imagine the surprise of this Swedish/Canadian to discover it's actually Swedish Kringle!!! Tack så mycket !!! ♥ PS The recipe is as delicious as you say it is....

Hi Karla, I am from Norwegian descent too, plus Irish, English, and German! If you enjoy an almond flavor, you would enjoy the Kringle. Take care and enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!!

I went outside today and did some yard work to work off a few of the calories. Then I came back in from working and ate another piece! 😁

This is EXACTLY how my mom and her mom & her mom were taught to make Kringle. My Aunt on my dads side of the family makes it too, however her recipe is different in that it is one dough layer and then forms it in a figure 8 or a ring- so she doesnt have the two layers like this one. My Aunt said it is a great quick dessert for tea and coffee when you are having visitors!

I love Swedish Kringle. It almost melts in your mouth when you eat it. I have another Swedish Kringle recipe that I have not yet made a video for. It is a shortcut recipe using some Pillsbury dough and it tastes very, very similar to this recipe. My Mom and Grandmother used to make Swedish Kringle around the Christmas holidays. Thank you so much for watching my video and taking the time to comment.

I just made this and thank you so much Sue. I think it's the best thing I've ever had in my mouth!! LOL Good thing I halved the recipe, because I think I will eat the whole thing by the end of the day.

I am so glad that you made this recipe and enjoyed it. Yes, I agree, it is very, very easy to eat the Kringle all in one sitting! You gave me a laugh! Take care and have a good week Mary!!!!!

This looks delicious, Sue! My husband's family is from Denmark; Grandma Christensen used to make a kringle many years ago.

It tasted really good. My grandmother has a few more recipes in her book for different types of Kringles. I might make some of those near the holidays. Take care and I hope you had a good weekend!

Is a Swedish Kringle the same as a Swedish Kringla? I remember trying Kringlas in college and they were sooooo good and not super sweet, and the dough was soft and pretzel shaped.

Hello Sue, since I have been watching your videos, I have had the same question for you; but, until now have not asked you. Now, because you shared with us your Norwegian descent and that you were reared in the Midwest, I must ask -- Were you born and reared in Minnesota. I ask because watching your videos there were clues that you just might be. I was born and reared in Minnesota in the Minneapolis/Hopkins area and my husband is also of Norwegian descent. Inquiring minds need to know. Thank you for all your videos. I really enjoy watching you.

Hi Sharon! You are a pretty good detective. I was born in southern Minnesota and when I was a year old we moved to southern California. When I was in sixth grade, we moved back to Minnesota and we lived in Brooklyn Center. One year after I graduated from high school, I came running back to California and have been here ever since. I still have brothers, sisters, and cousins in the Minnesota and Wisconsin area. Thank you so much for watching my videos!!!!

I'm surprised there is no Nutmeg somewhere in the recipe.
