My mother in law taught me all the finnish recipes. Im from New Zealand. That danish pastry we made every xmas for christmas stars(turrtus) hope my husband finnish spelling is correct. Anyway they were the favorites of our children and gingerbread biscuit. She was a fabulous cook and very creative. Miss her dearly. Great video clip. Enjoyed watching.

I used to read her delightful articles in the American gourmet magazine. Sadly, this excellent magazine has gone the way of the dodo, cannibalised by the Internet.

I thought salt kills the yeast. Should the salt been added later, after the yeast activated and flour added, then salt?
