My dad’s family is all from eastern Kentucky. Beautiful area and great people.
I love this videos and you guys have some of the best great job on the camera keep them coming 👏🏻
Thank you! Will do!
As a wood worker that is some really nice looking timber.
You and pop's are putting the boots to it brother 👍 looking good !!
Thanks buddy
Loader brings tears to my eyes, long ass drag
Nice video. Little soupy in a few places but enjoy the sunshine. Nice looking timber. Thanks for the ride along. Take care and have a blessed day and I'll see you on your next video.
Thanks buddy
Really like your videos! Keep'em coming!!
Looks like some beautiful weather. Love the Blue K10. Great footage. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks brother
My injection pump went out of my 650. Waiting on parts! Keep up the good videos! I'll be cutting till dozers fixed
Will do buddy. Thanks
your videos are the real deal
Thanks man
I miss them old logging days I did logging with a friend I knew for long time thinking about logging again
Lookin good buddy
Rocking good stuff
It is amazing how you weave those logs around in a muddy mess. Great job 👏 👍
Thanks
Even if it takes 2 chockers to make clover slip knot & clips so only loosen up way till uncliped way cool if poss.
Great video sharing
catch being 1 way slip attachment using clover slip knot, hoping 2 loops for 2 trees or 4 loops little trees pulled same time or 4 on 1 super secure.
Good job
As much as I like hardwoods, lately I have preferred pulling poplar. It stacks up so quick and with it being so high right now, I'd rather be pulling it
I love working poplar.
It does add up quick, doesn't it. We are getting 1100 a thousand here in mid tn. What are you getting?
Nice bulldozer!! Whith a good winch...
And of course the operator!
Nothing runs like a Deere!
Thanks buddy
I used to log and run jd650s and bigger. They had esco or some other brand winches and ran towers.. I remember my boss saying once that the jd winches were junk so he was running different ones. Then around mid 1990s or so jd came out with a new style winches that were much better and worked better so we switched over. Bigger better and always worked good. Looks like that is what you have on yours. Is that the only winch you've had and how you like it. Also we had towers. That made it nice to get chokers up and line up outbof the way and out of the tracks and could pick logs up off stumps or off the ground sometimes when needed. But would affect heavy drags and when winching heavy logs wanting to pick the nose up. But all in all I like the advantages of the tower. Have you ever used a tower on the winch.?
Yeah we’ve had that 4000 for about 12 or 15 years maybe. I was a kid when dad bought it. Before that I think we used Carco winches. Or gearmatics I can’t remember
@@hoskinslogging9858 OK. Thanks. We would do alot of what you were doing there. Using the 650 dozers to run around and bunch. He had a Komatsu 65e grapple cat or the d7 with a winch and an old Clark 668 skidder. Among others to take them the rest of the way. Looks like fun. But we all know it's still work. Thanks
That little bulldozer is impressive what it will do in that steep terrain, good work stay safe 👍
We’ll do out best. Thanks for watching
First comment good video yall
Thanks for watching buddy
@@hoskinslogging9858 no problem thank you for another great video
Great job. You must use some fuel in the run of a day.
Some days are worse than other haha
Any chance you are related to Eddie Hoskins from anville ky?
Don’t think so
Cool video a little greasy in spots, and little ruff terrain in spots, nice ride along, do you like new skidded? Keep the videos coming I know its hard video and work too.
Yeah I love it! Thanks for watching
I like this work you need a worker there. ?
Nah buddy. Not right now
I LIVE IN FLOYD COUNTY, WERE YOU BOYZ LOGGIN AT
Owsley county
Calling it a clover 4 n1 slip chocker need a boy scout to show how.
Wtf you talking about?
Was a nice forest!?
Is that a question or a statement?
Hows the mud holdn 4 yall? We n a dam mess here.
Last week was nice and dry. Rained yesterday and more tomorrow. Cut timber today. Haha. She’s wet
@@hoskinslogging9858 big time lol.
What is Beech running these days per mbf?
400 to 450 a thousand I think
Grandfather always taught pull it from narrow end not the base it's much easier than how your doing
Just depends on what you’re pulling with. If it’s a dozer then yes, the tips are better. If a cable skidder, butts are better. I’m still trying to figure this grapple machine out… haha
@@hoskinslogging9858 butts to the grapple, light end to drag, you are correct otherwise
As a logger myself does Kentucky allow you all to fill those creeks and hollows full of brush ?? I seen alot of good timber left to go to waste ?? Please try and start to practice BMPs and if your not going to use the tree Please don't cut them ?? The recent floods in East Kentucky has alot to do with loggers not performing BMPS
No. All that in the hollows has to be pulled back out, and cleaned up. We do all state required bmps. Not sure what you’re seeing in this video that is a violation.
Exactly why would you cut trees your not going to pull obviously if you are still in business you are doing everything by the book Hoskins logging does a wonderful
Job from what I can see
54: is that a 4 way loops slip knot great w/a rope chocker wire even better hoping some 1 knows that knot, wishful thinking GOD, saver if it never breaks.
how can you go so slow and stay in business . just watching that dozer is painful.
How fast it supposed to go?
