    Good video always top notch.
You know, I was looking at some resources on the Cree website, not the datasheet, the application notes, and Cree actually lists an overdrive current for portable lighting applications for most of their emitters, except the 70.3.
Example, the xhp50.3 they list an overdrive current of 5A at 6V, normally they say 6v3A right. But they give it an overdrive spec. Cree gives all the xhp emitters an overdrive current, but the 70.3 does not have one. The reason they give is because, according to Cree, the xhp70.3 maxes out at 7.25A. That wasn't true for the 70.2, you could take that to like 20A and lumens would keep going up, but I havent seen a test of anybody taking the 70.3hi to the point of failure yet and I wonder if they're telling the truth and it really does max out below 8A, and convoys driver is pushing it too hard. Or maybe it's just a liability and cree is pretending like that's the case. Not sure but I'm curious.
Wish the m21a would fit this driver because it's a great host. Oh well. Lil heat doesn't bother me. Gonna go make an m21b with this driver and a 70.3 right now. Went with a 5700K 90CRI. See how that goes. Again, good job

I have a spare XHP70.3 HI 4000K R70 that I want to put into a new host. This driver might pair better with a bigger host like the M21C and it will also throw a lot further in a larger reflector. Nice comparison video and good to know that 8A and 5A is not that much different in terms of visual output.

Hi, i think you should to compare M21B's different drivers with the same LED's to better see the brightness difference. The 5000k version has lower current than 6500k. And maybe your upgraded M21B has LED with higher cri (even less lumens yet)..My M21B 6V 5A driver has battery drain 8.6A in highest mode for XHP70.3 6500K (5000K version has drain 7.8A only..). 6V*5A=30W it is around 2/3 of 45W LEDs max power only. I have upgraded it with new 6V 8A driver, tested, it has now higher brightness, it seems more than 1/3 increasing. The LED XHP70.3 R70 6500K should have now theoretically around 5200lm, coz i measured Uled 6,5V by led current 7,3A, battery drain increased to 14,8A. Yes, the host has lower brightness than LED's 5000lm due to the reflector, but i do not have equipment to test it. Despite this, the brightness is on LED's max and amazing now, for such small flashlight, almost no competition on market for this price. But yes, it is heating enough by max 5th level, and stepping down faster, but it will stay after few minutes on increased brightness value as well. The 4th level has increased from previous 2,5A battery drain to 4A now, i estimate around 1500lm, and that is avesome as well. 4th level has now comparable brightness like "1800lm" flashlights by turbo (with battery drain also around 4A), but M21B's 4th level brightness will stay much longer time..
Btw, your channel is super, good job.

@@weerapatkiatdumrong I received my order of xhp50.3 hi (6500k r70) and I tried them with the 5a driver but I didn’t think they were bright enough so I actually tried one with the 6v 8a driver lol. It is brighter but I don’t know how long the emitter will last being driven this hard. I have it in an m21b and compared it to my m21b with the sft70 both using the 6v 8a drivers and I think the sft70 is still a bit brighter and definitely has more range (candela). I feel like the 50.3 hi is better for multi emitter flashlights but in single emitter flashlights I don’t really like it that much. Also the 50.3 hi 6500k is cooler white than the sft70 6500k.
