I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your videos I love that you are so knowledgeable and you really just want to help people You're not out to hurt anybody or take anybody for their money and I appreciate the information you put out there for those of us that actually enjoy the hobby in general but you really help dial it down to reality and a lot of us need that! Great advice. I didn't know just anyone could get greysgeet.
    Also that $2499 bid was almost certainly a drug deal or some illegal sale. That money wasn't for the coin. They want to be able to put the money in the bank and pay the taxes without the any problems from the government. There should be people cracking down on those sales. Not only is it criminal activity, but it creates problems for people who might think they're rich because they have an OBW of '56 Lincolns.
    Thanks again for all the education!

    I recently came into possession of my late father's coin collection. It's a modest collection. I've spent the last couple months doing an inventory and lots of research. Your videos have been a great help in this. I appreciate all the information and warnings. I've decided to keep the collection, it's fascinating, and pass it on to my son someday. I will have it appraised for insurance purposes. Thank you so much for all the information.

    It wouldn't be surprising if that kind of listing is a money laundering scheme. It would be an easy way to send money to someone in fashion that looks perfectly legit. Those kinds of sales also have the problem of influencing those who don't know how to research a coins value. Those people will likely see what the coin sold for and think that is the case for their coin as well.

    I am very new to coins, my Dad got me into it, but I am embarrassed by my lack of knowledge while watching videos. Do you have a video that explains basic things like what's the difference between uncirculated and non, proof and mint, and on your coin shop listing, what is EF? AG? VF? And the difference between S Morgan dollars and O Morgan? You really the only coin person I watch on RUclips, can you please make a video to help me get more informed or point me to another video that can? I am so embarrassed to even ask that, but I really enjoy the Time I spend with my Dad coin collecting and I just want more of that.

    pass money. I just don't understand how this could happen w/o them being caught.

    Thanks Daniel. I knew right where you were going. It's not difficult like you said, just take your time and look them up. Get the best key date grades you want, and then the rest are much easier. Key dates go up in value in ratio much fast then the commons. Base the collection off the key dates. If you were to want to sell the collection, the keys are first to be looked at.

    • @TheWinstonDouble
      @TheWinstonDouble 26 дней назад

      Penny is a common colloquialism. Like you'll have a thaler, and then people call a crown a "dollar" because that's just an anglicizarion of thaler. Then Spanish 8 reales coins get called dollars because they're about the same as a crown. And big silver world coins get called "crowns." So long as people know what you're talking about with context, does it really matter? Am I less of a numismatist because I call a $20 bill a "dub" and a $10 a "sawbuck"? Coins have always had nicknames. In medieval England, well-educated people would call the tiny little silver farthings an "obol" in reference to the small silver coin of ancient Greece. It's a perfectly acceptable tradition to use unofficial names of coins. We're humans. We like that sort of thing.
