  • The latest educational repercussions of Ron DeSantis's campaign against "woke" is a set of new guidelines that will have Florida middle school students learning false, racist tropes about the benefits of slavery to slaves and casting racist violence against Black people in a more "both sides" context. Jelani Cobb, dean of the Columbia Journalism School discusses with Alex Wagner.

Actually it’s it’s telling the whole truth to school children. My Great Great Grandfather was a slave in the inhumane institution. He was a black smith and was able to market that skill when emancipated by his enslaver and migrated to PA. He set up his own business. He was able to buy his daughter and wife freedom. Slavery is a sin in the eyes of God, but my family’s history has a right to be told in schools as well. as well. And not to burst anyone’s bubble but just like any other racial group black violence justified or not justified is history.
Let’s tell the whole truth no matter how uncomfortable it is.👍🏿💯

Universal healthcare, check! Exquisite dinners every day cooked by the world's finest chefs, check! The world's most comfortable beds, check! I don't think they would accept my proposal, even if I can prove to them that they will have an objectively better life, at least materially.

Instead of just listening to politicians talk about slave life we need to offer these people the opportunity to truly experience it. This would be an educational experience. After this experience they will be able to speak with authority about the "benefits" of slavery because they will really have first-hand knowledge/experience. The following is a description of this camp experience: Go to the two-week historically accurate "Slave Camp". There you will eat what the slaves ate, live in slave quarters, wear what they wore, perform the work they performed, and blindly follow the orders of your "Master" - again historically accurate orders.

It's mind boggling that Americans who claim to be all for freedoms and rights try to argue that slavery is somehow good for the enslaved. The act of enslavement itself is an inexcusable violation of a person, regardless of how well they are treated. I don't think any slavery apologists would find it appealing to be forced away somewhere far from their families and their homeland, and held there against their will, even if they will be served the best food in the world, get the best healthcare in the world, be treated as good as possible. Americans of all people should really understand that, especially Republicans who rather want to be free than to save their children from school shooters, and to save themselves and their loved ones from dying from covid.

He was referring to all the dark and corrupt forces that culminated in Trump being elected. His quote was actually the title of the article as it wasn't just about his career, but also our being in the world. So whether "absolute morons" or psychopaths we're in a bit of trouble. Nothing about what they did to the Koreans, the Chinese, the Filipinos, and so on, nothing about the unspeakable horrors they perpetrated on millions of defenseless people. The Hiroshima memorial museum mentions the attack on Pearl Harbor once in a tiny near unnoticeable sign that said, Japan was THRUST into the war in the Pacific after the attack on Pearl Harbor....Didn't even mention they're the ones that did it or that they did the "thrusting"! I think I may know 2 people that are like that. One of them used to own a church and would have the congregation stand up and recite the pledge of allegiance before church services. Yes and they were black trying to prove something. I would go to the bathroom and wait till it was over and then come back out to my seat.
Now I nolonger go to church since I came into the truth. The Most High Yah is my fortress not the Anti Christian that some of us been taught to be live in. You know that picture and image they taught us to believe in.

Accept it like you clowns never accepted the FACT that Cheeto Jesus lost the election? Nahhh.... we'll pass. There are 50 other states, plus all of the HBCU's that offer not only a better level of education, but a education that is founded in THE TRUTH, regardless of how you SNOWFLAKES feel about what your ancestors did. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
