- Volodymyr Yezhov was killed defending the city of Bakhmut in Ukraine's Donetsk region on December 22. He was one of the developers behind the successful video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, which was released in 2008. One of the game's characters, Loki, was based on Yezhov's face.

Stalker was/is massively monumental in gaming history.
Not just for coining the term 'Slav-Jank', it introduced a generation to the life & world of Slav Culture through its massively influential Indy Game community.
When I think of Ukranian video games, I think Stalker 1st, Dying Light 1 (2 blows, btw imho), & Metro 2033-34 (even tho it was based on a Russian Book).

For that to happen, they have to win. And we need to give them the support they need to do that. IMO we should be doing more, they should have been given more and better weapons. We need to give them a handful of some highly specialized weapons to bring down that stinking Kerch Bridge, for one, maybe even six to do all three surfaces once, and the day they are fixed, do it again. That is costing Ukrainian lives all over the south. Most of that supply, virtually all of it in a large swath of southern Ukraine, comes across that bridge and up by railroad through Crimea. Later it will be supplying Crimea. In fact it probably is right now, to build reserves of ammo, etc. The Ukrainians can shut off the supply lines from Russia across that corridor, but with the bridge operating, it won't do that much good.

Over the weekend I lost a good friend in Ukraine, someone I even served in the US Army with before he went back to Ukraine to fight. He was born there and was not part of the US military anymore when he went home. We played the Stalker series in base whenever not on mission. Hearing about his death the other day, and now I'm just learning about the death of Volodymyr? I'm almost in tears.

@@lowskill2 Browsed STALKER first version, kinda not my kind. But I had been from Wasteland, then discovered Fallout 2, and ever since on Fallout until FO4.
As for latest STALKER version, maybe I will see where to download and see how. Cos Fallout is smart... ... they base the game on actual replica of real cities, and with cities there are tons of possibilities, where else if in a Chernobyl-like environment, very restricted. Also, FO4 use VATs for those with issues aiming perhaps also due to GPUs and simply hard to spot targets, not sure for STALKER.
But I got the system mainly for the coming war around Feb, and with this might as well so I get a 3060ti so the max potential of FO4 can shine.
Nowadays you just can't buy the game and get the best system of the day to get the best of the games, you gotta wait for better systems at cheaper cost for best gameplay.
