I have been getting mixed results. I use Xcap batteries with Xcap pre-programmed tag flex, also JD ID tag flex with programmer. Around 1 in 4 repairs are unsuccessful. When booting the phone for the first time with the power cable inserted and tag flex attached the phone shows '0' percent and does not charge. The cable is attached to a good power adaptor. I follow the same process for each repair. I just don't understand why some work and some fail. Any ideas?
@@VCCBoardRepairs I’ve just done a bit more research and to help anyone looking for the same answers I was: - this works with any new battery, as long as you have the original bms - it works with all tag on flex brands and they’re safe to remove after the initial calibration.
@@AureaBulgariayea but when taking out the tag 3utools will still show the original battery capacity read from the bms, despite the fact that the phone will now display 100% and also, after dealing with few devices i have replaced the battery in with this approach, i noticed some significant drop in the phone's battery capacity percentage after some 2-3 months of time, which leads me to believe that it would be better to leave the tag inside. but for now i can't be 100% sure about that
So we can remove the tag on flex cable once the iphone has boot up with ? I mean, the second time iphone boots after the process, we can remove the ToF cable ? thanks

i do bms swap on xs max several months ago, it doesn't work. i dont have a programmer and the battery indicator is 1%. did i mess the bms or only needs programming?
Nice video :) However doesn't the battery life reset to the previous health after actualization or restore of the device when you disconnect the tag? Do you have experience with that? Also the phone was not charging because your charger is not MFI therefore after turning on phone you have to reconnect cable :)
it won't restore to previous maximum capacity after restoring the phone but it definitely will if you connect any other battery or power supply (which of course leads to the "important battery message") then back to this "original" battery. also i noticed that not leaving the tag-on flex inside the phone after the repair probably leads to faster capacity degradation from the programmed 100% to the original percentage. but for now i'm not 100% sure on that, plus there's a chance this percentage drop will never quite hit the original percentage and just stabilizes itself on the actual level after a longer period of time because the battery's capacity is periodically measured and calibrated over time. so i noticed this fast drop on some devices after approximately 2 months from battery replacement but i can't tell how the situation will look after next 2 months or a year p.s. also the 3utools keeps showing battery's original data even if your iphone displays the 100% capacity

That's strange. I haven't had any issues with all the batteries I've done. Maybe the spot welds are not good? Or maybe the BMS board gets damaged?
