    I think those that try to keep up with their expectations, and push bigger miles sooner than they are ready to do so, are more than likely to be the ones that get hurt early on in their hike. Mama K ain't going anywhere. She'll be there when you're ready. Have a great hike!

    Everyone feels the pressure of bigger miles but even Taylor and Stella will say take it easy and enjoy the first few 200 to newfound gap. You're doing awesome! 🤘
    Love your vids 💛

    Yes don’t feel pressured to push the miles especially if your feet are giving you any kind of problems. My hiking partner in 2022 developed PF and had to hike with it for a better share of 1500 miles. You’re in this for the long haul and they’ll be plenty of friends made the whole way to Katahdin 😊

    Well crafted vlog / style. Liking the discussion points. Hiking at your own pace will lift a great burden from you…it’s freeing. I play both sides of the rectangle 😊 OMG honey bun asmr!!! Do those as shorts and link to the main vid…exceptionally cool. 😎 you’re doing great, keep on hiking!

    You will end up doing 20 or more mile once you get your trail legs. You will just do it without really trying. The days get longer and you will be around more people.

    I don’t think when I was on trail that I felt pressure to hike big miles from myself, but I definitely felt like I didn’t want to feel behind from the group

    Love your videos. Totally right about starting slowly. Listening to your body is always the key to success. You will see either your friends or make new ones many times on your journey. Stopping and enjoying the trail will make your journey easier and more rewarding. BTW The look on your face when you took the first bite of the cold chicken and your comment were priceless! That made my day. Hike on Jess.

      I love to push big miles daily, including out the gate. …but not for “no reason”
      Big goals require big days, and there’s aways better camping right past the next crowd. Also, I started the day after the 2-22-22 bubble😂
      This is your hike, enjoy your hike.

    Dramatic content, occasional insight, a good eye for beauty in nature, and a little storytelling and/or humor make the best trail vlogs. Miles are pretty much irrelevant (as long as you’re moving at all), and can actually result in boring content-who wants to see someone trudging doggedly through the woods with their head down?
    Measured by that standard, I’d say this was a pretty successful video. 🙂

    A guy from New Zealand, trail name "Bear Grylls" (because he looked and sounded like him) thru hiked in 2018. He got most of his foods from Hiker Boxes. His channel is Matheson Brown. Take your time. The last one to Katahdin wins. This is a great adventure, savor it. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick

    You’re well over 1000 subscribers so could monetize your channel to make a few coins to afford more hostel nights as needed or maybe some Filet Mignon dinners in town. You’re doing the work filming and hiking so you might as well receive a little compensation, monetarily, for it. Remember the tortoise 🐢 won the race, not the rabbit 🐇.

    Haha it's so funny that you mentioned the honeybun ASMR, because I was gonna mention how - even though the music adds a nice touch - I oddly (or not) find the crunching of the leaves and the sounds of hikers' feet moving along the trail to be cathartic lol.

    The pressure to keep up with others or make it to the shelter that they are headed to, is real. Maybe it's something to do with survival instinct. It took me a few weeks to let that go and be happy that I met good hikers along the way knowing we may not cross paths again. I think that's the beginning of hiking your own hike.

    8:35 One of the RUclipsr's you mentioned didn't even finish her thru-hike. Actually they have both had problems finishing their hikes. So yeah, they are probably not the best examples to try and emulate. I love your videos, but if I could make one suggestion, do you think you could balance out your audio? The sound goes way up and down. Generally your background music is too high and your voice is too low. Good luck with your hike. 😎👍

      @JessHikesTrails  6 месяцев назад +2

      I hadn’t noticed the sound bouncing back and forth! I’ll try to look out for that. Thanks!
