    I cannot thank you enough for this recipe! I had tried cedarwood oil before but the dilution wasn’t right and it upset my cat, a lot. This recipe is amazing. Not only does it work, if used once a week, the cats don’t mind it that much. I used to be forced to use a chemical because the fleas were so bad.I am SO grateful to you, that is over! My cats have never shown any signs of being ill from it,btw. And, it will last forever!

    If mixing with water, a few drops of dawn or similar dish-soap help ensure the essential oils are evenly mixed. (Don't use more, because it's not needed and can be toxic to cats in high concentrations.)
    The water-mixture is also good for misting household objects with essential oils where cats sleep and fleas may be present. I'd use the same mixture and concentrations (about 10 drops per half-cup) as to not make it overpowering, and make sure the smell doesn't bother you.

    Mr Murray is getting quite sassy. My overweight Tuxedo (Mr. Moonshine) hasn't yet popped at me but he is letting me know he no longer likes being picked up or carried. If he comes inside when I whistle there isn't a problem. He usually does come quickly but sometimes he is enjoying his outdoor time and I have to lug him back inside so I can go to the store. He yeowls loudly and shifts alot but no scratches so far. If it didn't rain so often I'd just allow him to stay in the fenced backyard since he never goes beyond the fence. But I'm afraid I could come back to a soaked and unhappy boy. He doesn't realize how much I love and protect him. Lol

    On his flea remedy, 1 cup of combined aloe vera gel and witch hazel with 20 drops of essential oils is a 0.42 dilution. Not enough. IF you want a 1% dilution you need 48 drops of EO, NOT 20 drops. Ive used EOs for over a decade, mostly daily, and make my own personal care products and topical medicine. Many get dilution rates wrong.

    This was really helpful, I've been trying to get rid of fleas at home but I didn't know if it harm the cats. So I've been trying to find oils that fleas hate but are safe around cats. I don't spray them but I boil lavender liquid too to make my apartment smell good. So of I can use lavender thank you so much for the much needed info. But as to burn essential oil do I have to mix it with anything?

    I suffer from sinusitis and was recommended an EO diffuser to put on at night. Most sinus targeted eo's have peppermint, is there another I can use so I won't hurt my cat? He prefers to sleep in my bed at night and I'd rather give back the diffuser I bought than have my kitty leave

    Great info! Please make sure you use essential oils that are THERAPEUTIC GRADE only. This means they are tested by a third party to ensure purity. The price is worth it---need to know what you are getting and that it's okay to apply it to your pet. Examples of brands providing this quality of EOs: Doterra, Plant therapy.

    Any chance you could review waggie which is a natural flea collar with essential oils. Not a lot of reviews online and it would be good to know from a vets perspective if it is safe and effective

    question... idk if u mentioned it because i just paused to type this. but i noticed ur oil bottle says "Aroma" or something. i know what ur doing is not for ingestion, but since cats wash themselves up so much, people should know that some of these oils we see in the store are for use for fragrance only and shouldn't even be put on the skin, let alone ingested.
    Like we can drink lavender Tea, lavender can be eaten, but check what yall buy and make sure its something edible

    Why is my cat obsessed with eating grass & then throwing it up whenever I let him go into the backyard? That's all he wants to do is eat the grass! I switched him to 100% wet food diet, so I don't think his stomach is upset or anything. I heard that it could be a form of OCD anxiety. Is there anything effective for OCD behavior? He also over grooms himself.

      My cat also is obsessed with grass. He will eat till he throws up or I hover over him to prevent him eatting too much. He has severe food allergies that started when he was a kitten. I wondered if that has anything to do with his obsession with grass. He also is obsessed with phone cords & hoodie ties but not shoe laces, weird. So maybe just an obsession is with chewy tendril shaped things. Do you know if your cat has food issues? Or flea allergies? I think mine is allergic to both.

    Is it okay to bathe our cat's eyes in warm saline water (pinch of salt in half a cup of water) please? I think our cat could do with this every second or third day, but my 94 yr old mother is dead against it. (Sometimes she's right about things; other times she's just fruity. But she has me worried.)

    • @kymbyrly
      @kymbyrly 3 года назад +1

      Saline should be fine, I wouldn't overdo the amount of salt... and only use a good quality sea salt. I use it for just about anything and everything.
