to me the 80’s and early 90’s has some of the best metal/hard rock music ever,so glad i was born in 1971 and got to grow up in hay day of the shred guitar hero 🎸🎶🤘🏼 and i absolutely love your guitar collection especially being a fellow lefty rock on 🤘🏼 chris
Awesome Nick! I grew up on all these bands and WASP is the only one of the 15 I never got to see live. All killer riffs and you played them great! 🎸👌🏼🔥🤘🏼
Great stuff, Nick. I noticed different gear in different clips - some looked like you were using the JJ Jr, some the Headrush, is that right or was it all just one amp? Also, what's that red Kramer HSS model? Not sure I've seen that one.
You are correct different amps. I did some of these brand new and used the JJ, but several are older and I used the Headrush on those…also used the Marshall DSL 2000 50 watt on one of the riffs. The Kramer is a newer model…rerelease of the Striker.
@@Scott__C It was so so out of the box. Needed some new pick ups...also had the nut shaved down a bit by my guitar tech, action was a little high. Plays and sounds great now...but it did turn a 400 dollar guitar into a 700 guitar with the upgrades. Also would like to swap out the Floyd with an Original Floyd. But that red IS cool right? 🙂
@@NickLaytonGuitar It is. Glad to hear they're OK. You never know when the price is that low. Those Floyd Specials I've never had any luck with, so yeah, I'd replace that too.
Nick, I signed up and got to the page where the riffs were and then somehow I went another page...Now I can't access the riffs page. How I get back to that page?
I’m so sick of this. You know who started the “glam metal” tag? VH1. I’m from the 80’s. We did not call these bands glam metal or metal for that matter. They are hard rock or glam rock. There is almost nothing metal about them. Hell these bands don’t even call themselves metal when they’re asked in interviews.
Hey, no reason to get all bent out of shape. This video is about having fun and celebrating this music. Call it what you want. This is my channel and I'll call it what I want. Are some of these bands closer to hard rock than metal? Sure, but it's only a matter of degrees. Plus I'm sure we can agree the term "Glam Hard Rock" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Riffs like "All She Wrote", "Too Young To Fall In Love", "Lay It Down", "Heartbreak Blvd", "Youth Gone Wild", "Time To Surrender", etc are pretty heavy if you ask me...definitely metal, especially by 80's standards.

Agreed. Hate that they call it glam metal too. It’s like calling it “hair metal”…..lol 🙄
