This year PRX need to either win or finish top 3 more than once in Major events. That being said I would disagree in saying 2024 was a bad year, it was well below their peak of 2023, but 2nd in kickoff, 3rd madrid, 1st stage 1, 5th Shanghai, 3rd stage 2, and losing to the the literal winners of Champs 2025, is not as bad as it seems, granted they obviously have more potential which is why it probably seems so disappointing, but on paper, it is not terrible. Also basically every player on their team now is a flex, Jing is playing kj and deadlock and raze and jett, something is on jett and sova and gekko, forsaken is just the goat flex, and davai switches between initiator and smokes. The only argument could be mindfreak staying controller, but with that much flexibility and the caliber of the players, PRX I would say are in a better spot than ever to win something.
18:07 this right here is what i think about boom. I dont understand why a lot of people ranked boom in the most bottom tier of apac, but spg is ranked in a higher tier, making a huge gap between the two teams despite them having a really close result in the ascension gf. Imo boom could be the top of the bottom half of apac, like how rrq did in last year or zeta in 2023.
Prx suffered from the Neon Meta. They had Jingg playing neon, which was not bad but when taking into consideration that they had arguably one of the best pre buff neon players in Forsaken it seemed like opportunity wasted. its not like i am calling out Jingg, as they had players to make comps around that time. Lotus: forsaken neon, Jingg raze and something fade, devai KJ/viper , mindfreak omen Sunset: forsaken neon, Jingg sage, something gekko, davai kayo, mindfreak omen Bind could be better if they hadn't relied much on Reyna but tried fade. Their icebox at champs was their best map but they crumbled under pressure fast. Abyss was interesting but yeah their ascent and Haven was atrocious at that time. the one who will say their sunset has best winrate should consider that i am only talking about them during Neon Meta not the whole year. Also i was genuinely surprised with something's Gekko and Fade when he pulled them out this year, i thought they are just using him as a tape to fix but he was very solid during the games. If he can be that good on Sova too this year, PRX will be scary cuz they will have the chance to bring out Yoru or Neon on some maps with forsaken.
well i think that time jingg wasnt comfortable with many agents so that was a safe pick for him and forsaken is a good flex so i think it was more of a comp proble ngl
I explained when I talked about them that I felt the more relevant placement to bring up was Madrid and not their regional placement. But yes, technically that's the better one
They've been one of the top teams in Pacific for 2 years now, 1st in regional leagues that no one cares about should not be any sort of consolation for their dismal failure internationally this year. They are a better team than getting grouped.
fyi for boom esports losing to rrq and team secret in the off season was just a showmatch and nothing serious. they will have another off season tournament few days from now in apac predator league so we'll see their performance from there
Boom didn’t “get rid of” zesbeew. He’s not old enough to be in VCT, so they brought in a replacement until he’s old enough. Zesbeew is too cracked to drop.
Many people say prx have to change a roster but that was a stupid opinion because if prx change the roster they have to build their chemistry again and prx player are still cracked and many people say replace mindfreak what else replace davai, fuck it man you guys just watch the highlight. Mindfreak was one of the main factor of the prx playstyle, not many controller can adjust really well with prx fast playstyle, why mindfreak can like that because they already have a chemistry, mindfreak was the original squad from prx like forsaken and davai
Do you just watch the games muted and or watch any content at all with the teams..? How do you not know how to pronounce so many names? Edit: if you don’t watch any pacific content, PLEASE do, vct pacific definitely has the best content out of any region.
Dawg I try my best but there are so many teams, so many players, so many players that weren't super talked about in years prior and the spelling on some of these gamer tags makes my brain hurt. I'll do my best but I'm gonna mess up here and there it happens. There hasn't even been any Pacific games since July so haven't heard a number of these names for a minute But that is a good suggestion I'll try to find more Pacific creators to help out with that, thanks for the comment
How do u see yoman so far compared to lakia...does he lok better or has similar impact as lakia...if yoman doesnt show great impact GenG is cooked with foxy9 imo...I really hoped he'd shine but like u said he is very inconsistent
The concerning thing about Gen.G in the offseason that I've seen from them is their new recruits being for the most part at the bottom of the leaderboards/worst performing. Their old core is as cracked as ever so they will still be able to get far but against top tier teams you need those x-factor players like meteor to get over the hump. They still have at least 2 of those kinds of players in t3xture and karon and munchkin is still a great IGL and the new guys poor performances so far might just be growing pains, but they're gonna need to really step up if this team is going to reach the heights they did last year
"There definitely is abunch of unknown in this region" No they are just unknowns for you cause you don't follow the region but your still going over them as if you know and most things your saying is invalid cause of that.
The Pacific has been an incredibly top heavy region for a long time, with only really 2 teams making big impact internationally until 2024 in Paper Rex and DRX (and I guess you could say zeta/northeption but that was only 1 tournament for each of those teams). In 2024 we saw new teams like Gen.G become top dogs and the region seemingly having a more evened out skill gap with teams like talon doing well and T1 falling behind after making a pretty solid roster on paper. With Paper Rex not being the juggernaut they once were, a potential new super team in t1, Gen.G losing arguably their best player, drx going through a rebuild, and many underperforming teams either keeping their rosters or making minor changes with tier 2 talent, I'd say that makes for a region that definitely has a lot of unknowns. Same for every region. Pacific may not be my main region and I won't pretend to know everything about it but I follow as much as I can and I've been following VCT since its inception so I know the history. So apologies that I think it's an unpredictable region and I'm not as able to perfectly predict the region as you seem to think you can.
I didnt watched the video yet but in my opinion geng still would be the best team in pacific i know geng roster is kinda downgraded now but still on the other hand i think t1 is kinda overhyped some people are saying that t1 will be better than geng which is just cap because we haven't seen t1 face any of the top teams in pacific yet to make that assumption personally i think t1 will not be better than the likes of prx and drx but even if they do i think they wont be better than geng
Nah T1 still better than DRX, T1 rn is old DRX with super steroids. While i agree on T1 isn't above GenG, but at the same time gap between GenG, T1 & PRX isn't that big.
What surprised me the most in this offseason is Jinggg playing Killjoy and the aura of him SIPPING WATER IN THE MIDDLE OF A ROUND!!!
It was cold move from him...
I'd be surprised if T1 doesn't at least make it to the first masters.

As a diehard drx fan (2022 roster),i think i should prefer to buy T1 capsule rather than DRX:>>
Love stax,buzz,rb,mako,zest (foxy 9,flashback,beyn):3
PRX BEST 2024 PLACEMENT: 1st VCT Pacific Stage 1

Isn't zesbeew 25 y.o?
@raindezvous9868 yup he's definitely of age to play lmao
13:42 lmemore is pronounced L-me-more

i feel for mindfreak bro like he is soo underrated people are always saying just kick mindfreak it genuinely makes me sad

Also this maybe a hot take but I think talon will become eg of 2023 and will win champs
Maybe a hot Take is crazy
That's so obvious 😂😂😂
This is not updated but I understand cuz TS just replace their coach
Wasn't really focusing on the coaching anyway so doesn't change much

MaKo is not igl its freeing im pretty sure
