    Ok, Lydia. I'll answer your questions. Definitely not my first time hearing about the department, though this is the best ad they've ever made. Hobbies, sure, hiking, cross-country skiing, and parks with my kids. I've lived all over Michigan and in a few other countries. Michigan is an absolute wonder, but urban and suburban areas of Michigan need more natural spaces. In cities where I've lived in Asia, every neighborhood has a park, trees, and walkable small businesses. With the redevelopment of our housing and missing middle, I'd like to see more natural resources as part of creating a higher quality of life. I'm not sure if you folks at the DNR are thinking about that or not. Please let me know. Thanks.

      Hi there! First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to answer all the questions. It's great to meet you! You are absolutely right. Michigan's urban and suburban communities would greatly benefit from more natural spaces. Currently, there are some DNR efforts to address that issue in Flint with the creation of a state park in the city.

    It is good for folks who didn't know much before veiwing. Something needs to be done about the DNR's mis- management of deer into an invasive species.

    I’ve been exploring my communities local forest trails since I was really small. Doing that has given me a decent understanding of the group and people that make that happen. This video is a good insight how that happens and why it’s so important in a way I knew but wasn’t able to articulate before. The outdoors and in nature is really important to me as it’s one of few places quite enough for me to clear my head. I’ll hope to see more videos like this to better understand what’s being done and what needs doing. Keep up the good work Lydia.
    Sincerely
    -The Void

      Hey! It's great to hear about how you have been able to connect with nature from a young age. There will definitely be more videos like this to come, so stay tuned.
      : D
      Sincerely,
      - The Lydia

      @michigandnr  2 месяца назад

      Thanks for taking the time to comment. Each state has their own version of a fish and wildlife or parks and natural resources agency. Michigan has the Department of Natural Resources and we’re a state agency of the State of Michigan. Hope that offers some clarity.

      Thank you for asking. This is something that would be better handled through the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE). Their contact information can be found at www.michigan.gov/egle/contact
      Hope that helps!

      Also the fact that they got so many complaints about what rifle caliber was used to harvest deer, they had to remove it from the harvest report list. Why would they even include such a thing in the first place? It's because it was political move coming from Lansing, that's why.

    The DNR are the people that keep interrupting my hunting trips to tell me I’m over my ‘bag limit’ and that my shot gun needs a ‘plug’ whatever that means. I mostly ignore them.

    • @nitran8843
      @nitran8843 7 месяцев назад +2

      In Michigan, shotgun plugs are essential accessories for hunters who must adhere to specific regulations governing the capacity of shotguns used for hunting. These plugs are typically wooden or plastic pieces inserted into the magazine tube of a shotgun to limit its ammunition capacity to comply with local hunting laws.
      ___
      "Bag limits in hunting serve to keep a healthy population for the carrying capacity of the species' environment by utilizing hunters and fishermen to harvest only a selected number of mature game species."
