Anyone else think Marx is the overarching antagonist of the Kirby series or is it just me? I mean he was the original soul boss and every other soul boss looks or has a move identical to marxs (I.e. most soul bosses have his iconic blue and pink coloration, betrays kirby for power sometime in the story) or references him directly like magalor copying marxs plan to trick kirby or star dream imprisoning the exact same nova that granted marx his wish.
Funnily enough he always seemed unsettling to me, even before he turned into his boss form. He always looked like he's trying to put on a friendly face, but not quite getting it. I once mentioned this on a video about cute character design. Someone suggested it's probably how his pupils never touch the edges of his eyes, and I think it's spot-on. It makes him look like he's constantly screaming on the inside.
