Out of curiosity, what is the main ethnicity that ruled Nanzhao?
Since the Burmese army was the ethnic group who invaded Pyu city-states, the evidence is that it's the Lolo-Burmese people who were the main ethnicity that ruled Nanzhao. It is a common misconception that Nanzhao was ruled by the Tai, please watch the 'Origin of Northwestern Tai' in this channel.
Burmese call them Nansaw.Their name is Nuosu or Nosu.
What happened to the Pyu people? Weren’t they simply absorbed by the Burmic and are now part of Burmese ethnicity? So Burmese are partly indigenous to Burma.
From what I read, they escaped to the nearby Arakan plains (present-day Rakhine province). What happened to them after that is not documented.
@@eastasiaorigin7754 1500 years old civilization of Pyu people was quickly absorbed by the Lolo Burman immigrants of Nanzhao within a few centuries. How come? So controversial.
@Cobidbeksin The Burmese people are the Lolo Burmese migrated from Nanzhao which is the G.H. Luce's theory in colonial times. His theory is based on the Manchurian chronicles, highly flimsy and controversial. I doubt if he intentionally wrote the Burmese history to look inferior. There is another theory based on later excavations that the Pyu people were proto-Burmese. However, much more evidence is needed to prove the theory.
@@minthura9053 which manchurian chronicles is that? Tang period records clearly mentioned Pyus and how they were under Nanzhao domination.
