    I watched the first episode and I like it but wish Niles and Daphnie would come back just for a few episodes

    Unfortunately, this reboot will never live up to the greatness of the original. That one was a masterpiece. But we'll see what happens.

      Cheers is the original and this show is at least as good as the last one.

    The only thing I can't stand about this show is Freddy. When Martin often mocks Frasier in the old show, you could see Martin's point of view but most importantly, he had redeeming qualities to him. Freddrick just comes off as annoying prick who I wish would f-Off. Of course, I am speaking of the character, not the actor. The Writing for Freddy is just not good.

      100 percent agree. Freddy ruins the show for me

      I just feel like this new "Freddie" character is so unlike the Freddie in the original Frasier. That Freddie came across as interested in academics and more refined like his mom and dad (outside of the Goth episode). It would have been interesting if they had a Freddie character similar to Frasier and Niles, and then have given Frasier another son through Charlotte which is similar to Martin and see the two sons dynamics with Frasier, as well as each other (similar to sibling rivalry with Niles and Frasier). Also get rid of Niles/Daphne nephew. I don't have problems with the idea of bringing in their nephew, I just HATE the character they have created for him. Super annoying, like this new Freddie character.

    In the old show, when Niles goes to the hospital to have open heart surgery, the future scenes show a baby girl for Daphne and Niles, will a sister for David be added?

    I think Niles could work as him and Frasier having maybe the once a season Skype chat. With Daphne interrupting and chipping in from off camera.

    If the reboot is a success, here is an ideal for the series. David befriends a girl who reminds some whom Frasier had known at Cheers. The father of David's new friend is a highly respected politician in Boston. The fans of Cheers and Frasier 1 will immediately know who the father of David's female friend is, but Frasier had forgotten the Cheers connection briefly. David is a reflection of his father Niles. Due to his mother's influence, David is able to respect females esp. his peers. David confesses to Freddy about not wanting to rush into a serious relationship. David tells Freddy about what happen to his father during his first marriage. Oddly after Freddy meets David's friend, he recognizes that David and his friend are going to become a couple in the future.. Freddy's advice to David is to enjoy his friendship.

    They should have left well enough alone, Frasier ended at the right time with all of the characters moving on with their lives, Without Niles and Daphne, Roz and Martin Frasier seems incomplete and slightly lost, While the new characters are okay they just can't compare too the original cast,

      Your so right so many times things should be left alone just like when movies try to remake a great classic it's never as good never. Peace ✌️ from Saginaw Michigan Dontoons

      Of course he's lost. New career, new city, new friend circle, and his adult son. He's got to find his footing. That's what this series is about.

    • @brendakauffman2222
      @brendakauffman2222 9 месяцев назад

      Agreed, though I hope if they go forward they have cameo's with Niles and Daphne, and Roz, and other visitors from the radio station. I think they can make it a success if they have cameo's with original actors. Too bad Martin can't be one of those though.

  • @ardiris2715

    The new version has only one problem. The entire supporting cast.
    (:

    • @brendakauffman2222
      @brendakauffman2222 9 месяцев назад

      Yes that is the problem. Frasier had a wonderful supporting cast in the original series with Niles, Daphne, Martin, Roz and other regulars that Frasier worked with; in fact, I think Niles was a better actor then Frasier and Frasier playing off him and the others made the show what it was.
      The reboot has a young cast whose characters haven't been well developed, and who haven't had the experience the original actors did. Niles son, has a tough act to follow, trying to imamate his dad. I mean David H. Pierce is such an excellent actor.
      Then IMPO, in the reboot, they need to redo Fraises plaid shirts as Frasier would never be caught alive in plaids. He'd do dress casual, with sweater vest and less dressy jackets etc.

    If we don’t see Niles, will the show tell us how Daphne is doing?

  • @bethlitchfield8710
    @bethlitchfield8710 10 месяцев назад +2

    David and Frasier's alleged identical outfits were NOT identical...for one, different shirts.
    I went into this new show with anticipation to see how Frasier's life would be in his 'Fourth Act'...I expected advancement from the first 'Three Acts' of his life especially since he'd moved each time hoping for new experiences. I am looking forward to see how each characters life is eventually more developed with details as was the case in Frasier's previous 'life acts' experiences.

  • @richardmaclean7581

    Look: Frasier and Niles were named after rats by their mother. Niles’ marriage was destined to fail after David left. And all the speculation, just kill the character Niles off.
    Niles’ son is gay and would bring his mother back.

    A conservative teaching at Harvard. 🙄 The producers are really reaching. I love the talented Kelsey Grammer but he can’t carry the show by himself. He is the only cast member from the original series. Niles, Daphine, Roz? Anyone from Cheers? Not happening.

      He's a great actor but they need other great actors, not just young actors with little experience, for him to play off of and to interact with. They need to make Freddie more likeable because he's not anything like the Freddie in the other show.

    Frasier was hands down my favourite sitcom. But that was because of the cast and the writing. The way all the cast bounced off each other and complimented each other was the x factor of the series. This series is ok. But just no where near on the same level as Frasier. The characters just don't seem to gel like the old series. The cast of the old Frasier was on another level. It just seems like the cast apart from Frasier are overacting. Hopefully it will get better 🙏 just got to give it time. To mould into its own thing. But i really can't see it ever being on the same level as the old frasier. Not with the cast its got. But trying to replace the old school would be impossible.

    I just watched episode 5, and it was actually pretty good. I don't like the Olivia character, as she's too immature to be believable as a Dean at Harvard - an example is given in this video - she only cares about Frasier's success to make her sister jealous. Come on! We already sort of have that character type in Alan, who boasts about having tenure and not having to do any work. She was way toned down in this episode. She can be funny without being immature.

    I watched the first episode and did not like it. I simply cannot stand that obnoxious, annoying Freddie character. He is absolutely useless in the show. The writing is no where near as good as the original...I'll pass. The original still makes me laugh...no matter how many times I watch it...
