Hardest day of my life. Fred tells a story that needs to be told.

I remember the day well. I was in AMAB just after returning from TK. Still reeling from Smithy, Herbie and Snowy.

@@unjiegays8722 you're a legend mate. Keep up the amazing work. I wish I was still in the service but I now serve in a different way.

I wonder if it would be wrong to put Fred Smith up there with the legendary C.E.W. Bean ?
Bean was in the trench's of Gallipoli and France and reported what it was, although heavily censored . Smith gives the story to us through his song's.
I challenge you to read Beans writings and listen to Smiths song's without getting emotional.
I also wonder if Mr Iian "Fred" Smith is related to the author of a book named THE ANZACS, by Patsy Adam-Smith ?

Fred’s songs that tell the story of the Afghanistan war are just chilling & awesome. He tells the truth, and tells it so well.

Beautiful. Simple. It says it all whilst remaining poignant.
