I’m a senior at Scott high school, class of 2020, and never in my life had I seen the town in this perspective. Main Street is a dump now. It’s amazing seeing this.
Yep my grandfather passed away in 1998 it was the last nail in the coffin for Main St. Madison. I'm in Charleston have no desire to go over to Boone Co. anymore, its not only not the same the current condition of Boone Co. is disturbing.
i was raised in boone county, wv, the other side of the mountain in whitesville. my dad was the policeman there. i remember this, just like it was yesterday.. i really miss home.Lord i would love to be back there again, for i am so far away from my homeland. where i live now, it seems as if i am on another planet.. nothing makes sense on the texas southern border.. I want to go home.
I wandered again to my home in the mountains where in youths early dawn I was happy and free, I looked for my friends but I never could find them, I found they were all Rank Stranger's to me!
Very interesting video. I was about 8 when this was filmed but I definitely remember the construction of corridor g. I was most likely at school at lory Julian elementary when you drove by recording this. Thank you for posting this 👍
Seeing all the old cars and just the whole atmosphere makes me miss those days so much, such a better time in the world as far as I'm concerned, for so many reasons...I don't remember dollar general even being around in those days...although I'm on the east coast, not sure if that makes a difference or not
Wow..should have done this here ( Berkeley County ) in the 70s.... Great job....someone tell that black Chevy Blazer to turn his blinkers on sooner ... could of caused a wreck on those roads.....
Did a double take at those menu prices. Then I remembered: 1987. duhhh Some people might think this scene is grim and depressing. I don't. I've lived in Appalachia since 1999, and I've seen a LOT of places like this. It happens when you go out with women you meet on Internet dating sites. 🙂🙂
It used to! Back in the early 70’s, my Grandad who lived in Hewitt, showed me how to make an igloo big enough for a kid and his Grandpa to crawl into 😊. Had to shovel the walk, so Grandma could get to the mailbox, and the Milkman could get to the front porch: Good Old Days!

I like seeing the trains. I saw a caboose in there also. Radioshack!
I went to a Radio Shack recently. (Very) sadly lost the video footage, including the footage of all the snow falling off the roof onto my wife's car.
So much has changed with the growth of Scott depot, windfield and the new routes. Been a while since I seen what that area use to look like.
Good time, wonderful country, beautiful landscapes!

I watch these type of vids for the cars. Try to name as many as I can. Getting harder to remember those old car models.
Remember when we could all name them?

I lived in that big house just as you start down Hill Street. Moved in I think 1983. I don’t think it’s there anymore. 😢

@Black Illuminati Nature goes through cycles. Has nothing to do with chemtrails. You have to look long term. 20 years is nothing
@BLACKLUV yep you are exactly right
