    Thank you for the great information! I want to jump right into the commercial permit for tuna being a rookie at it think I'm going to get the recreational permit instead this year and practice on the little guys before going after the big ones.

      We definitely recommend a recreational permit at first as it is a lot of learning to be done! The size and power of those giants is incredible!

    if i hold a commercial license do i "have to" throw back an "under 73"... what if i want to keep it for myself?

      Nope when you get your commercial license you cannot keep a recreational fish.

      @@GooseHummock Respectfully this is wrong. Licensed OUPV with tuna sale endorsement can fish recreationally, charter or commercial on any legal given day. If all He is getting is 72 inch tuna and decides last minute he wants to keep it and go home, He can. Just can't legally sell that small tuna.
