621bhp Audi RS6 GT - £180k IMSA-Inspired V8 Estate

- Is the Audi RS6 GT the ultimate V8 super-wagon? Well, if you’re a fan of trick suspension and garish liveries then it may well be. And with the RS6 GT you do have to have the wrap, though you’ve a choice of two. Your GT will also come with manually adjustable suspension from the excellent RS4 Competition, a 10mm ride height drop, new 22-inch ‘Avus’ alloys, standard ceramic brakes, and a roof spoiler inspired by the 2020 RS6 GTO concept.
What it won’t come with, however, is more power. Under the bonnet, the twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 delivers exactly the same 621bhp and 590lb ft of torque you get in the regular £130k RS6 Performance.

Do you think this justifies the price tag?
No not at all especially after hearing you must have the wrap on it. I just feel underwhelmed by a vehicle that used to be so, idk, special. Anyone can get their 22” wheels plastidipped white, new badges are just boring but asking that kind of money for a gain of what, 20HP up from last year?? No thx

Oh, yes!!! It's gorgeous. I think the rare wagons available mostly look great.
Paying $50k extra for a bodykit, coilovers, stickers and nice wheels sounds like one of the deals of all time. Liked the GTO concept.
Wish they'd gone all the way with that instead.

Get the Abt Legacy instead. New Abt turbos, intercoolers, exhaust and tons of carbon. I got an allocation for mine, tango red, due in two months. Way better than Audi's attempt.
It's a lot more than they did with the TTRS final edition.

@@henryhealy Agreed, but the 3.0 CSL is vastly diffferent. The Audi is what? Suspension changes and a sticker kit. A lot more cynical.

Plenty of mugs out there willing to pay for extra crap. £200k for an estate and over £50k for hatchbacks. And you have to buy 20 normal porsches before they sell you a GT3 RS. 😂😂😂😂

Why pay extra to modify your Audi to Hyundai?
nah, sometimes they just put stickers and badges on. At least this has some mechanical upgrades.
Reviewer needs to get his facts straight given it’s his job. Torque on this car and the identically engined Performance is 627lb/ft. The discontinued regular RS6 was 590.

They haven't done enough to justify £50,000 more than the standard car. No Interior upgrades, no engine upgrades, no roof racks, no bigger or wider body panels. £50,000 for some stickers and white alloys. Seems a bit half assed to me.
It's a possibility that there are bigger decisions (resulting in not more power for these RS cars) that are taken inside the VW AG to protect the higher cars, right inside Audi, you've got Lambo and then you have Porsche and Porsche has some big control with Remac on the Bugatti, so Audi branded cars probably shouldn't upset their top siblings. With Merc their AMG is the top division (Maybach is luxury) on performance and BMW's M division is also top on performance (Rolls Royce is ultra luxury). So all in all in the VW AG stable there are cars that the AMG and M cars are not in the same playing level with. Not saying that is what's happening just saying RS is not the top in the group, unlike its direct competitors.
Exaclty why cars like the golf R never got 400bhp like rumoured, because it would then destroy the rs3 which is obviously the top hatchback in that VAG group and why they wont make the rs3 more power when they could easily do that as they use a 2.5 5cyl but then it will beat the rs4 and rs5, a45s AMG has squeezed more power out of their 2l 4cyl engine lol

Not having "Aero" wheels is a huge miss.
Lets face it, as this is (unfortunately) JUST a "styling homage" to one of Audi's most iconic motorsport machines...and the dish wheels still are one of the most beautiful details on the IMSA GTO, AVUS 22" kinda look that they don't belong there...at all.
180k for a livery, some bits and bobs in carbon and a limited production run does not make much sense, but then again, what do I know ?
Hopefully it wont be instantely forgeted like the S1...

I don't think manually adjustable dampers are the way to go. But Christ this has to be the coolest looking Audi. In my eyes, maybe even better than the R8 GT😅. Should've had about 680HP if it wanna compete with the still ongoing M5 Comp or CS😊

Love those seats! Yes I agree they should have done more unique bits in the interior - maybe some silver (looks white) carbon fiber trim; perhaps red leather or alcantara on the doors? Certainly red seat belts! I kind of like how they did the blue weave CF and blue seat inserts on the Ascari Blue Performance meself.
Honestly I’m not a fan of the manual suspension option - silly really, as if you’re really taking this rare and heavy bird for track days (also to chew up or burn up your 9K CCB’s). Wondering if it’s money better spent on some ABT body kit and engine upgrades?
As attractive as the thing looks,
Will be waiting for fenders, new bumper and new rear difusser (OEM or aftermarket). These parts are just perfect. Then mounting on your regular RS6, and you have much more cheaper, sleek and elegant avant. Of course glad that this one is even going be made, but could have been much more. +20hp is a joke.

I love this car
The RS competition seats would cost you about 17,000.00 USD if you were to order them on your own, plus the cost of installation. That makes up a good portion of that price jump, in addition to bespoke carbon front panels, which would also not be cheap at all, even on the aftermarket. But anyone buying one of these super limited models knows exactly why they're paying the price - exclusivity and rarity. Out of 660 total offered, I bet maybe 50 of them will see more than 25k miles.
Why Audi, why don't you ever add more power to upgraded RS models?? Especially when AMG and M cars have more power to start with?

I read a lot of negative comments, which i think can only be made by those individuals who either cannot appreciate why Audi have made it, what it represents, and most probably people who could never afford to purchase one.
Audi definitely on the good crack when designing this. As a life long RS6 fan I'm deeeeeeeeeply dissapointed in this version. So much so that I feel robbed of my childhood. This is the last production run of a legendary car and you give us something that comes out of a lucky packet. No man Audi... Sis
Can’t lie, the day I seen the m3 touring whoop this my heart broke, I’m a die hard Audi fan and still am even after that disappointment, but they definitely need to do something about it.
on the track or in a drag race? i haven’t seen either of those tests yet but i assume both

They already answered back with RS6/RS7 performance last year, which it done quite well against direct competitors

Audi has understood one thing : this is the end of big engines, people want limited edition cars to speculate, and they're offering it at big prices because it will be sold easily.
But in the end that's just a RS6 with a body kit

Only watched this to see the GTO. I know it would never had happened but it would have been amazing if Audi had sent the end of the gas RS6 era out with a swan song to the original UrS cars. A stripped down version of the RS6 with a longitudinal 2.5T. Instead we get some stickers, carbon body panels, and Avus remakes.

Love it. Is it a bit ridiculous? Sure, but it's much cooler than the Urus its owners would have bought instead.
I used to be a pretty serious Audi fan, but this is definitely a bit underwhelming. I honestly feel like they're too far into their next (awful electric) products to bother doing much to this one.

Can't use the concepts aero blades on wheels for the street, because laws in most countries prohibit any part of the wheel/tire from protruding beyond the fenders/wheel wells.
The M5 Touring will eat this things lunch.

XM Red Label is top tier (by hp). If you would have even little knowledge about bmw, you wouldn't say that. Even BMW top engineer said it already. (Read bimmerpost)
New m5 will have around 700hp. The power train will be the same as XM.
550e (inline 6) is already 2,3t. M5 hybrid will be 2,4t+ for sure.

Audis are so sexy, anything RS. The RS6 estate is about as cool as can be, i'd rather have it than just about anything, but will never own an Audi in my life, im too low class for that. At least i know.

When BMW showed m5 CS everyone was happy and mad, they don't even cared about over price with the same 625hp. Why AUDI can't do same? I like it)
But bmw m5 cs is 70+ kg lighter then normal m5 and +10 HP whilist rs6 gt has same stats like rs6 performance but with higer price.
@@markopavic9054 both compet and cs has 625hp and 850nm. Yes, cs us lighter. But rs6 gt has other body parts, made of carbon ans aluminium. Other words, rs6 gt is totally the same situation with m5 cs. Bоth were made to earn money.
