The sun was shining,, you spent some time with Mother Yuba and you found some gold. That makes it a darn good day. Everyone else tends to put the gold on a scale at the end of their videos. I haven’t been doing that because as TopCat teaches “It ain’t all about the gold”. However, If you want more gold on the scale, or just more gold period, ditch the classifier and the smaller sluices and get an Angus. Just dig and dump. You will be able to move more material which usually translates into better clean ups. I’ll be back up there in the Spring and you can try mine and see if you like it. See you then. Aloha
It's definitely more about the good times and being outside than how much gold you get. Looking forward to spring. Hopefully we can make up for the missed trips last year! 👍⛏️
@@MountaineerMatt You’re way ahead of me this year in both gold totals and good time mining adventures. Until I get back up there, all I have to treat my gold fever is the videos you guys post. Thanks! Sluices are still in production. I have the material and Shawn will fabricate them. We have had some unexpected delays come up unfortunately. I haven't forgot about the winners and will get them out as soon as I can 🙏

amazing vid, dont feel bad shawn always kicks my ass out on the yuba even if we dig next to each other. ive tried a few mats out there and shawns have always done better.
Not sure how he does it. I'm always impressed by how much color he has in his sluice. Hopefully the three of us can get out there one day 👍

Thanks Geno! Shawn is the first to show me the Maverick pan. It's great for cleanups, since the corners make it easy to pour your cons into a container.

Hell yeah Matt, glad to see you getting out and doing some sluicing. That fine gold can sure add up, nothin better than hundreds of colors in the v-mat! We're planning to get down to the motherlode again in the next few months, hopefully we'll be able to meet up and do some prospecting!

Yeah the V matting is at the top. The picklepuss is the bottom mat. It's basically a stepped v matting. Pretty cool to watch how the material moves and drops in the mat
