    I racked up quite a few hours on a D17 in the 80s. Highly recommended.

    We have a D17 and it is a BEAST!!! 63 hp is plenty for what we do. power steering is awesome as well as the power shift. I took out the calcium in the back tires and filled them with winter windshield washer fluid. I added almost 1000 lbs to the back of it and it pulls really good. I'm still surprised what it will pull. Tractor data has some great info on the D series tractor. Great video. Subscribed!!

    Great info ! Thanks for video . The D series tractors are easy sellers . I think for the guy that wants to bush hog and plow snow they are easy to get on and off . I have a D -14 that is growing on me for that reason alone . (Old guy here)

    We had a MM G1000 Wheatland that we disked with, I think it was a 22’ disk. Pulled it very well even with worn out duals.

      @RJ1999x 5 лет назад +3

      When the G1000 Vista came out MM had it at the farm progress day in Wisconsin and we're pulling a 6 bottom on land plow, they thought they were the biggest baddest tractor there, so the next day Allis Chalmers showed up with a 220 and a 7 bottom on land plow, and that was the end of the G1000 being the big dog on the block

    The 190 & 190xt had transmission and final drive issues, did not like being jerked around. That is new to me about the D19 camshaft. They did have Diesel and a drank a lot of gas version in the D19. Enjoy your Channel!

    • @bobdoesthejob2774
      @bobdoesthejob2774 Год назад +2

      The 190XT series III fixed the transmission problem. I had one for over 30 years. Pulled a 5 bottom at 6 mph in clay soil. We had a two row chopper up and down the hills. That was a great working tractor for me.

    My memories of the d21/220 ac tractors was that of replacing clutches. If you started plowing,with plow on ground,letting out the clutch,you would come back to the dealer rather quickly.

  • @clarencetrice4442
    @clarencetrice4442 Год назад +1

    alot of tractors wouldn't pull the plows in the mid west the ground wasn't the same 😮😮 alot places the ground was just like clay and it took alot of power 2 plow that land and turn the ground over 😊😊 that's why years ago the steam engines was used 2 plow the the land back then they didn't have big tractors 2 plow W it was years later 😮😮 OMG 9 1 2O23

    We had a D17D 60hp and then some Good tractor despite the hand clutch and snap coupler but you had better cool it down gradually before you park it for the night or you'll have a leaking head gasket very soon The 19D was overall a good unit but if you're unfortunate and get a D19G ....get ready for 55-60 gallons of gas a day if you run it under load.

    • @bradhaenitsch1145
      @bradhaenitsch1145 3 года назад

      Hey mr long that hand clutch works great if you know when and where to use it and the d 19 we had wasn’t too bad on gas even under a load also worked that 17 really hard for many many years never blew a gasket

    • @robertlong7033
      @robertlong7033 3 года назад

      @@bradhaenitsch1145 it was alright and like so many other equipment you adapted to it however when chopping heavy corn or baling heavy windrows I preferred the 2 stage clutch on our AC5050 and AC6080. Then again AC's couldn't have been all that great given that they ended up being cobbled up by Deutz and AGCO and now a brand name that has been gone for upwards of 30 years.

    The D12 is one half of an inch longer than the D10. Because of the larger tires. Pretty much the same tractor. D12 was a two row tractor, while the D10 was a one row tractor.

    They never made a D-14 diesel. Allis wanted to put a diesel in them but the frame rails were too narrow, hence the D15 as a replacement.

    I think you forgot or at least didn’t mention that the D21 was later turbocharged and cranked out 126 horsepower

  • @countrygent4
    @countrygent4 2 года назад

    #1 There was no D-14 Diesel.
    #2 The original D-15 gas had the same cubic inch engine but higher compression than the D-14 and more horsepower at Nebraska 30.91 for the D-14 and 35.33 on the D-15.
    #3 The D-15 Series 2 had a 160 cubic inch gas or LP engine in place of the 149 cubic inches engine on the Series 1. Which upped the horsepower to 38.33 verses 35.33.
    Lots of D-17's in our area. If you were orange you had a D-17. The D-19 was a great tractor but had lots of problems keeping it in the field. It did not have the reliability of the D-17. You could plow as much ground in a day with a D-17 as you could with a D-19. Why trade up for the same production and more problems.
    #4 The early 190 gasoline engine tractors were the same tractor as a D-19 with new sheet metal. Nebraska University caught them and made them pull the new 190's tractors off market. Then they came out with a 190 revised and the 190XT. The original 190's were shipped back to the factory and crushed. A friend of mine in high school dad got caught up in this mess in 1963-64. He got the 1st 190XT Diesel in the county for $1,000. difference trading in the 190 gas that got crushed.

    Our D14 narrow front has the black steering wheel with the square emblem and the grille that is silver expanded metal with black bars across it. It has no serial tag, so I am trying to figure out what year it is? I think ours has good power for its size, very comparable to 600 series Ford Workmaster!

    • @mikekf0eap16
      @mikekf0eap16 4 года назад

      Serial number is stamped into rim of torque housing found near air cleaner. Tractor Data has the numbers and dates listed so you can find the year.

    You need a real website!
    Not Facebook which I am not on
    And many others in your target market are not on.
    I am not on it on purpose not because I am afraid of technology
    Or can not load an App.
    Link it in each video.

      If you beating on any tractor hard enough it breaks enough to call it a pos its either a already worn out tractor to small for the job or more than likely a driver error tractor is only as good as the the operater thats got time in the seat and knows the limitations and workes to the fullest capacities inside of its boundaries.
