its incredible how much you can mess up a game and its all because of a single berry. ive heard you can rewrite actual parts of the game's code with the pomeg glitch. this berry fears no god.
Cloning pokemon? *that's gotta be illegal* But if it was real life that's probably what would happen and so would selective pro breeding for a select color of pokemon.
In emerald some people think that there is bad egg glitch, actually its anti cheat system. If game detects cheating, random pokemon in your team will transform into bad egg. That egg cannot be hatched and cannot be released.
My method of getting rid of the bad eggs was using the cheat to steal Battle Factory Pokemon (or any warp glitch after l lend my team with the bad eggs)
From my understanding, it’s less of an anti-cheating device and more of a placeholder. It shows up when the code of the pokemon is corrupted in a way that doesn’t make sense, but explaining it requires an understanding of how the game reads code.
It's less of an anti-cheat system so much as an integrity system. When a Pokemon's code is read or stored by the game, it has that code verified with a checksum to make sure all the data it needs is there (stuff like level, stats, EXP, and shininess). How the game computes it is pretty technical, but ultimately if the checksum doesn't match what the game expects, that Pokemon is considered invalid and gets turned into a Bad Egg. While cheating *could* result in making a Pokemon with a bad checksum, it doesn't always happen. Bad Eggs typically don't "spread" either; that, in turn, can happen when you type in a cheat code wrong, since that can screw up how the game reads other Pokemon data
sorry, but you're just plain wrong, which is kinda ironic since you tried to correct "some people" who were thinking the right thing. "If game detects cheating" it doesn't. "random pokemon in your team will transform into bad egg" they won't. a bad egg is simply what the game displays when the data for a pokemon gets corrupted, and it can't be interacted with because the game wouldn't safely know how. so to fix your statement: *in emerald some people think that there's an anti cheat system, actually it's a failsafe for a glitch: if your cheating is inaccurate (e.g. by vomiting random values all over the data using the pomeg glitch) and corrupts pokemon information, exactly those pokemon will be displayed as bad eggs, which then cannot be hatched or released to prevent further corruption.* it's not the game detecting and punishing cheats by randomly taking your pokemon from you. it's the game seeing a broken pokemon in your savegame and marking it as such so you can't break more of your savegame by using it. "random pokemon will transform" because your cheat/glitch already fucked up those random pokemon by essentially taking a random data shotgun to a large portion of your savegame, that's it. which is also why bad eggs happen most of the time when you use the pomeg glitch (which, again, just throws random data into memory hoping for the best), but not when you actually use a cheat device or savegame hacking to give yourself pokemon, even if those have stats/attacks which are considered impossible combinations.
That glitzer popping description reminds me of the Gen 1 get any Pokemon by flying away from a battle trick. It sounds like one of those fake internet urban legends but it isn't. I kinda wanna try it on my Emerald to finish off the Pokedex (only missing mythicals like Celebi) but I'm afraid of having Bad Eggs crowding the PC...
You don't need to click yes when cloning Pokemon at the battle tower, you can just reset after the yes/no box appears. There's a long pause before the save option pops up and that's when it saves your party but not your box. No need to turn off the game while it's saving.
@@PaPaSea you say yes to the npc to save the party, but when the system asks you a 2nd time you can just reset. also helps not accidentally saving half your game and corrupting something
I'll never forget the time when I was a really stupid kid and I did this thing where I rubbed my head against our fuzzy couch and then put my finger on the charger port with the charger still half-in and the static shock made my sprite turn into the flipped-over water reflection version of my sprite. Good times my childhood was.
Just an extension for anyone watching this learning about the cloning glitch: you can duplicate up to 5 Pokémon and an unlimited amount of items. This happens because it saves the bag and party Pokémon during the pause. You can duplicate as many items as you have Pokémon stored in your boxes this way. You can duplicate hundreds of rare candies, master balls, etc this way.

I'm kinda surprised that cloning Pokemon in Emerald follows really close to the same as GSC with save glitching. I never tried it myself and always thought after the well known glitch they would have covered their bases
I think it’s just a matter of being quite specific and also in the end game. Most of the bug testing is probably focused on the main storyline and more so on game breaking bugs. This doesn’t really fall under either of those so not very surprising. If anything it’s a benefit to players anyways. By the time you get to the BF most of that stuff serves as a convenience really
@@hardrocklobsterroll395 I doubt that. Coding isn't exactly done in relation to the story.
