It wasn't toxic. They were raised on the south side. That's how they'd have been taught to resolve problems. It was really just Mickey having a hard time accepting himself because he was taught that it was a bad thing.

@@kurkindal1234 I mean the show itself and the upbringing that these characters have aren’t ideal situations or circumstances so it’s not really a surprise that some aspects of their relationship have been toxic. But compared to their neighborhood where they grew up and their separate dysfunctional and abusive families that they grew up with, what they have managed to find and create and build with each other is really something special and it’s no surprise that they had one of the few happy endings in the show.
This is one of the best edits I've seen of my favorite fictional couple ever! Thank you. I was worried with Ian coming back for season 10 that Mickey wouldn't be back, but I'm screaming now getting the news that he will be. Can't wait for more Mickey and Ian moments!! I hope Shameless continues to keep the characters together, because their beautiful (imperfect but perfect together relationship) will always be endgame in my eyes.
