    2017 2018 ktm 250 or 300 Xc, 2018 husky 250 te250i ktm 250xcw tip, Yamaha yz250x (my phone goes dead?), ktm 2015 300xc, 2012 300 xc w, 2017 sherco sef-r, 2016 xc-f 250, 2015 Yamaha 250 fx, 2017 beta 300 rr, 2017 ktm 150 xc w.
    Looking into buying my first bike. I watched your first bike video. Your videos are so helpful and fun to watch. Heal fast Brothersen!
    I have an fz 09 Yamaha. Used to ride race sleds three wheelers and four wheelers. I can't decide between the older 250, 200, and 150 Xcw and a 250 or 350 xcf. I wish I could test ride them all like you have. A local guy is going to let me test drive an 2008 xc 450 and a sxf 250 so there's a start.
    I'm buying used so it's a very tricky process. I just asked a guy with a 2011 xcw if he has shop records for the top end build he just had done. I keep wondering if I should just suck it up and buy a brand new bike

    Kyle I know KTM doesn't make them anymore but have you tried any year 200? I've been wanting one since 04 but have never ridden one. Would be interested in hearing your thoughts if you have tried them, really wish they would bring it back or at least do something bigger than the 150 like the 167 big bore they make for the older 125's, the 150 didn't do much for me. maybe test that next in the Beta version?

    Hi Kyle. Great channel. Any plans to update this list now in light of the TPI bikes and changes to the XCW chassis? Also, have you ever considered testing the trail bikes? A lot of people get started there or that's all they are looking for. May not be enough differences among the bikes to matter, but good for some views none the less. Bikes like the CRF250F, KLX230R, KLX300R. Keep up the great content!

      Your right it's time to move up from 2006, also an E-start wouldn't be stiffed at either. My X has way to much compression when kicking it, I've found a nack for kicking it over time. But it doesn't have that 2T smoothness like most Ts have when kicking. It can be very frustrating when your tired, it's still my favourite bike tho, I can beat 350s-450s on it.

    Interesting,
    I figured the Sherco 300ser would've topped the beta based on yours and Sam's review of them. I think your opinion would've been stronger for the Beta had they sent you a race edition. We know they didn't have one available. I also think Beta would be wise to hook you up with a 19 250 or 300 race edition and maybe a 390 race. ARE YOU READING THIS BETA??? TIM??

    Test the beta RR 350 EFI. I'm from the netherlands and I do a lot off riding in france close to where te ISDE was ridin. I have had a couple of 300cc two strokes the last one was a husaberg TE300 so basicly it's a ktm exc 300 or (XC-W) 2012. I wanted to try the newer 350 efi 4 strokes and ended up with the beta rr 350 EFI and I love it! as you say with a sherco 300 sefr it's enough power to do the nasty stuff and it will not suprise you.

    I'll go my favorite by decade as I'm a poor motorcycle shop owner and I started ridding big bikes in the 80s as a young rider. I get a bike build it pretty much withen the first year and than ride it for 8 to 10 years. But I ride all kinds of customers bikes so I have lots to chose from.
    80s cr 250/500. 90s xr 600/kx 500. 2000s kx 250,ktm 200,ktm 525. 2010s ktm 200, ktm 250 xcw. Still waiting for the tpi 250 300 to surpass my 12 250xcw that's built in tune perfectly for my next pick. Hope they get there soon as in at the 1000 hour mark on my 12.

    Interested to hear your take on the husky and Ktm 350s You mention that the sherco 300 is a great mix of weight to power. Do you put the 350s in that category also or is there something holding back the endorsement?

      I certainly know what I'm talking about....I'm a motorcycle mechanic, I've been racing since I was 10, and your Yamaha 250 thumper will get EATEN APART by a 250 two stroke.
      Have you even ridden a 250 two stroke motocross bike? It makes a 125 look like a toy. Four strokes killer motocross. The fans love two strokes...the sounds, the smells, the obnoxious factor that racing at it's highest level should have. Things like shifting, and what line you take are super critical on a smoker, and it's a more skilled machine to ride. Period. There is no arguing this, it's a fact. Same thing happened with Formula 1, except they did it for safety reasons, not financial.
      Go ride a proper 250 MX bike from the 2000-2005 era from the big Japanese four, or a KTM/Husky motocross variant. They are downright scary. I've never been apprehensive of a 250 thumper. They are quite tame actually and easy to ride. Yeah, they are alright, but they don't provide that insane acceleration that you get from a two stroke on the pipe.

      Rick Feith what a good friend once told me it’s not the bike that wins it’s the person a 250 four stroke could easily beat 250 two stoke it just depends on the rider but I see your point

      16-18...my guess he had probably rode one with a 4cs witch would blow through the stroke and cause the front of the bike to dive and bottom out easy. It also is heavier and not as light as a 300xc two stroke and while the '16 350xc-f is only around 5 pounds heavier than a '16 300xc 2 stroke, the motor weighs more and puts the mass down low witch makes the front tire more planted witch makes it harder to ride through the more technical stuff and, also fourstroke's are harder to keep running/not stall in the more technical...that's why you see most guy's with fourstroke's run recluse clutches.

    • @dustinenduro44
      @dustinenduro44 6 лет назад

      He put the 2016 250 XC-F as his #7 bike tho.... Also, I have had Kreft Suspension on my 350 since I bought it so I don't know how stock 4cs feels. As far as stalling, I put the JD Tuner on mine and it helped a ton in technical stuff. I have no problem lofting the front wheel either.

    • @hornefoundations
      @hornefoundations 6 лет назад

      Dustin Woodbury Rcs forks are terrible they have no mid valve at all and blow through the stroke. I have heard that the kreft valving helps but, still does'nt work great. I put a pair of '09 300xc closed cartridge forks on mine with one size stiffer springs than stock and they work great. I believe most of the reason the 250xc-f is on his list is because it is/feels alot lighter than the 350 and is easier to ride. And, yes you can loft the front tire on a 350 easy but, a 2 stroke lofts alot easier. A fourstrokes weight is in the engine and down low so, you ca'nt ride through really hard/rocky terrain as easy.

    Unfortunately KTM also passes all those R&D costs onto the consumer with a $10,000 price tag on a new bike where as something like the yz250x is $7500. KTM's are pretty awesome though and keeping the 2-stroke alive and well.

      Enduro Pik I've been looking into the yz pretty heavily and from everyone I talk to they still have a top notch suspension and frame on them. If they added a few more goodies from the factory like a skid plate, hand guards, and electric start option and lowered first gear and could keep the price between 7500-8500 I bet they would out sell it.
      Yamaha seems to be one of the few manufacturers actually trying new and innovative things, on their 4 strokes anyways. I've never been much of a Yamaha fan before but the more I look into them the more I like them

      Where I live the prices were way closer. The yamaha was $7000 and an 18 KTM 300xcw was 8399. I think the e start and headlights were worth that. If yamaha had estart and headlight, I would have one now.
