I’m just happy seeing Three do a pack that takes a long time. I’ve only really started watching recently but he’s almost too efficient. Every episode is like 40 hours of progress and the pack is done in like a week. I want to see hundreds of three episodes.
Yea when I watched atm 7 to the sky I watched it from vhosen architect first and then three (threefold is much better) and on episode 2 chosen had like auto sifting and three had like me system. He is a crazy grinder
You call it a side project, but upgrading your EBF coils is one of two things you should always keep in mind and, where possible, be putting on your to-do list if not outright doing. The other being upgrading circuits. Speaking of which one quirk with Tungstensteel coils is that once you have them you're only an EV mixer (which you already got) and an IV assembling machine away from being able to craft the better HSS-G coils, which are very worth grabbing early due to their increased energy discount and perfect overclock on nichrome-tier recipes. "But IV Assembling Machine is really expensive!" you say? I mean, yes, it certainly isn't cheap, but you've got the Tungstensteel and the IV circuits. The biggest catch is Advanced Glue for Graphene, but that's literally just oxygen, ethylene and one piece of calcium/quicklime/calcite through a half-dozen or so LCR recipes. If you *still* have no steady source of oxygen be really glad that this advanced glue situation pointed it out, because the upcoming chemistry lines would be hell itself otherwise. "But how am I supposed to power an IV machine without a single block IV gas turbine?" you ask? The same way people used to before those OP AF single block gens were added: IV battery in the machine, or if you can't afford one (IV batteries do require Epoxy, you might not have that on hand quite yet), at least a 4x EV battery buffer and a transformer. You don't need the IV assembling machine to run continuously, just run long enough to get HSS-G coils assembled. Note that the above is no longer true as of 2.2.8, with the introduction of the (eye-searingly ugly) TPV coils. They don't require Tungstensteel, and so much of it as to imply the presence of a T2 rocket to hit up Scheelite veins at that, meaning you don't necessarily have a source of tungstensteel for an IV assembling machine and mixing up the HSS-G itself. Of course TPV coils have their own reasons for why you want to rush them ASAP, aside from the usual ones, and the same is true for Tungstensteel coils in 2.2.3: You need that tier of coil to cook Enderium, which is the tech gate to opening up Thaumic Horizons stabilized rifts, pocket dimensions, and Planar Gateways. If you're very diligent and dedicated to magic - and yes, more than just mildly insane (Soul Brazier setups notwithstanding) - you can indeed have interdimensional personal teleportation as early as T2 rocket (2.2.3 for tungstensteel coils) or post-Moon (2.2.8 for TPV coils). Want to head back to Mars real quick to fetch some more Creeper Eggs, or swing by Phobos to pick up your miner and plant it elsewhere? At this point in progression that is possible without constant rocket trips...not that Cetane-Boosted Diesel is that difficult to produce, or that the stack you get for free from the questbook isn't going to last you a while, but rocket fuel will become more challenging in the very near future...relatively. Some of you might be looking at that beacon and thinking that a Magical Feather from GT++, which gives creative flight in an area around an active beacon (area size depending on the tier of the beacon), would make building a lot easier. It would, the problem is that the magical feather takes a half stack of emerald, diamond, ruby, sapphire and gold blocks. Diamonds at this stage of the pack are in short supply, between Compressed Chests (which require Diamond Chests) and Engineering Processors, and just being relatively rare in general. That problem will be resolved come Ross128b, with it's super rich diamond veins, but getting there requires a T3 rocket, and that's going to be a while away still. Industrial Diamonds would also help, but the conversion ratio is a stack of coal dust per singular industrial diamond, so getting a half stack of diamond *blocks* that way would require absolutely ludicrous amounts of coal. It's definitely something worth crafting if you have the resources, but with Three's anaemic ore processing (and generation, for that matter) situation it's better to solve problems before investing very heavily into expensive QoL upgrades. As I mentioned before, and several times during the livestream: Gather your tools *before* you start working. The Alumite plates on the hammer could have been replaced several times over by now, and while replacing them might not have made a significant difference in terms of manual mining it definitely made a major difference in terms of this building project. Upgrade your tools and see what more can (and needs) to be done *before* mining out literal tens of thousands of blocks 🙃. I would just like everyone to imagine how hilarious - and suicidal - it would have been to go on those block placing runs if Three hadn't invested the time and effort into cooking food to gain more hearts. And to also consider the question of "If Three had died during one of those block placing runs how would he have gotten back to his grave?" Remember, the hallmark of a well designed base is accessibility. The hallmark of a proper modded Minecraft base, however, is having to dirt pillar all over the place if you end up without your source of creative flight 🙃. Note, by the way, that Botania does add an item - Resolute Ivy - that you can apply to all manner of items to allow you to keep them after an untimely demise, such as a Flask of creative flight. The only caveat, as is always the case in GTNH when Botania gets involved, is that Resolute Ivy not only requires an Elven Gateway, but specifically Pixie Dust, for which you need Sunnarium in trade. You can get Sunnarium in EV using glowstone rod breeder IC2 reactors, in fact that's more or less the only practical use for glowstone breeders that I've found, but it is a hefty investment for just assurance that you'll be able to conveniently reach your grave at this point in the pack. Surely you won't be *ever* be foolish enough to snipe a Witch Spider without thinking, or get dragged in by infernal mobs and ganged up on, or forget your hazmat suit when dealing with highly radioactive materials, or otherwise die at this point...right? Look at all of these items that would have been useful earlier, but were left to sit in limbo for want of some time taken to organize it. Needless to say, prepare to keep yourself organized if you play GTNH. Because AE2 is not going to save you, at least not for a very long time 🙃.
Your non-linear way of storytelling is so awesome! You’d think if the stuff wasn’t in order you wouldn’t be able to follow it but you bring it in such a clear and entertaining way! Awesome video as always!
I think you mentioned in the stream that you are progressing slower than last season, and I want to say, it doesn't feel like it! The episodes are very entertaining and they do not lack content at all. Remember, this isn't a race, but a marathon! One that we have fun running, too!
The agon in the walls is such a good addition, amazing how much difference a theoretically quite subtle change can make to the overall effect of the build but yeah, base is looking great!
"Every 37 seconds", right 🙃. I picked apart the math last episode so no need to go over that again, but keep those details in mind if you're working on setting up a process where throughput is actually relevant. *Especially* anything related to power generation. For the record, the various Magic Energy Absorber blocks will generate a steady 1A of their respective tier, given a high enough tier Egg on top (Creeper Eggs for LV-HV, Dragon Eggs for LV-EV). The efficiency rating listed in their tooltip is relevant for some (though not all) of the other methods one can use a MEA to generate power, but the Egg method is not impacted by this fuel efficiency. Another example of Three not checking recipes closely enough, by the way: MV Field Gens only require two (molten) ingots worth of Tungstensteel in an assembling machine as opposed to four ingots worth in the crafting recipe. Admittedly for LV/MV this isn't as much of a savings, but for HV/EV the assembly machine recipe is going to be more important, and for IV even more important still. Always double-check straight crafting recipes to see if there's a cheaper alternative 🙃. You might be looking at that recipe and thinking "that is way too expensive for an HV tier energy generator", and yes, it is perhaps a *tad* bit expensive for what it does. But Magic Energy Converters are not to be underestimated - they are one of the kings of remote power options, only held back by the fact that their gating puts them in an awkward spot tier-wise. Otherwise if you have some kind of Diamond Spike (or similar) based Nether mob farm you'll find yourself drowning in Sloth Shards, which you can turn into quite a bit of power through magic energy converters. Of course in addition to that magic energy converters are a crafting ingredient in Magic Energy Absorbers, which are *exceedingly* expensive...but for good reason. And there go four Niobium-Titanium plates Three is never going to get back 🙃. It should go without saying that moving around jars manually is outdated by this point. Alchemy Golems are available as soon as you've got infusion set up (as obnoxious a recipe as golem cores are in GTNH), Advanced Alchemical Furnaces to significantly speed up essentia smelting are likewise available pre-Moon to those dedicated enough to magic (and insanity), Titanium in theory opens up the possibility of using Essentia Mirrors alongside Essentia Locusts to centralize Essentia distribution using Essentia Mirrors (and using Essentia Pumps from Witching Gadgets to provide that which can't use mirrors access to mirrors anyway), but I say in theory because Titanium likewise opens up Thaumic Energistics. And I probably don't have to explain that investing in the latter is a better idea than the former. If I do, GTNH has an add-on TC mod that adds the Infusion Intercepter. Which, if you're able to divine how it works despite the terrible to non-existent ingame documentation, greatly speeds up arcane infusion in combination with Thaumic Energistics. It is at this point that you're going to run into more and more recipes that require Helium. That's fine, though. You should have a good stockpile of the stuff from centrifuging endstone dust, and if not you know where to get more of it. I'm *pretty sure* arcane infusion drawing essentia towards itself is purely visual, so long as the jar is in range of the infusion matrix it's fine whether it has a clear path to it or not, but don't quote me on that. Thaumcraft isn't Thaumcraft without the cool visual effects anyway...even if they lose their luster five minutes in 🙃. For the record you can place Creeper Eggs on GMEAs, but they'll only produce 1A HV. They can output 1A EV if they've got enough power stored up, and GMEAs do have a ~32M EU buffer (related to them stripping off enchantments to turn into power), but it's just not worth the material cost to place a Creeper Egg on a GMEA. A MMEA plus a 16x HV battery buffer full of Lithium batteries would accomplish basically the same thing, but be *significantly* cheaper in terms of material cost. It's best to measure AE2's power cost in either EU or in RF, whichever of the two you use to power it, since converting between the two is wonky if not impossible. Specifically in GTNH a Vibrant Capacitor Bank being fed 512 EU/t will report an energy income of 1841 RF/t, whereas converting RF into EU directly is impossible (and largely pointless considering that RF producers in GTNH are by and large dwarfed by EU power costs). Note, however, that AE2 assumes the usual 4:1 conversion ratio of RF to EU despite this not seeming to be the case in testing. Also keep in mind that a Network Tool will only report the power cost of the network you're currently accessing, if you're using the main net/subnet approach you need to check both (and any other local subnets you have) in order to accurately calculate how much power your AE2 network in consuming.
What do you mean 'from the golden days'? GTNH is still being actively developed and updated. Minecraft versions are like consoles, you just play the version that the modpack or mods you want to use are on. Chasing the latest update is foolish, as most 'new' features were not only mod-inspired, but some have existed in modded minecraft since before things like potatoes, carrots, anvils, and zombie villagers were ever added to vanilla.
@@TheSphero I know. 1.7.10 best version for modding. You're right! Excuse me if my comment was a bit unclear. If you have a gtnh in modern Minecraft the TPS and overall game tick lag would be horrible. ( I'm a modder with 2,7 MiO Downloads, so I know a bit about modded mc )
You should make a temporary room, a room where you put all the temporary stuff and once it gets full you put the temporary stuff in a permanent location
I always love the recaps at the beginning of the episodes. With how complex the mod pack is it can get a little crazy to keep track of as a viewer and that helps a lot. 👍
21:16 - I've been really curious about the Sacred Oak. (Although, it looks like the Redwood Sapling you ended up picking also came as a single item. Now I'm curious about that one too.)
Love the videos, three! You got me into GregTech and now I'm addicted. Greg now rules my life. Greg is making me fail college. But it's all worth it for more Greg.
@threefold so the master energy absorber can get energy from an energized node. Which confirms that this is my favourite thaumcraft version. I hope you set up an hungry node feeding system and energize it once its grown to ridiculous proportions. Thats lots of fun to get into and takes care of all the vis you could ever want
Oh and if anyone wants to setup the system. You have to find a hungry node encase it in obsidian (which is the dangerous part) leave a hole open through which you can feed it with crafting tables, because those grow all primal aspects in it. That should be done from a few blocks away so the node doesnt eat the feeding system. Once the node has grown to the desired amount, I grew one of mine to around 1000 of each primal aspect, seal the hole put wood on top equal trade the obsidian and quickly jar the node. Afterwards you can energize it with the advanced stabilizer and energizer, youll have to be quick though cause the node can eat blocks before the energizing happens. Once its complete though its completely save and has basically infinite vi.
Perfect timing! I had fallen behind on this series and spent most of today catching up! Just finished 5 minutes ago! Can't wait for this one! Great series, not gonna miss another again!!
Man I love the grandmaster magic energy absorber - it's so nice for powering ore drilling plants, fillers, HV world accelerators (kinda :p), ae2, and other stuff ... but I don't know if it's worth all the circuits! I made it at IV after unlocking quantum circuits, gg on making it with nano circuits! Also a tiny tip for anyone else who wants to make one, strontio can be gotten from scrap boxes (4 each)
This episode is particularly great; I noticed the beginning felt a bit different with more 3rd person explainers with the progression bit. A lot of great use of text as well, and integration of the stream footage and progression was absolutely seamless. Good job, Three! P.S. I got excited when you included “Someone to Rely On” :D I also thought that “one thing” you wanted to do was sing, not the quest reward claiming xDD
10:15 unless gt:nh changed it, thaumcraft actually does not check, if essense particles, like, travelled to infusion matrix. so as far as numbers on the matrix tick, you are ok
havent played a greg tech pack in proberly 15 years but somehow really enjoy watching these videos maybe now im abit older its time to take a look at a greg pack again and see if i have the patients lol
I recommend you try out Nomifactory! That is probably a simpler starting point for Gregtech, but nothing beats New Horizons in it's complexity. Thanks for watching :D
I'm almost getting tired of writing this on every episode, but I'm sure you are not tired of reading it: Your base is awesome! I love the addition of the new block too! Slowly, but steadily you will get this base built! Can't wait to see what's next! :D
Summary, transitions, split screen, flashbacks, micro-cuts, rythmic editing, informations edits, its getting more and more complex ! Huge respect for the dedication, but have you ever thought of getting someone to edit the videos for you ? Get some time to breath between sessions lol, because as you said this is a huge project, it can become tedious sometimes and people understand that
You should probably make an AD about your channel... I'm 99% sure you will catch a lot of subs/viewers. It worked for Technoblade (2015, godbless his ads played in every video lmao)... It will surely work for you, especially with the Gregtech, amazing continuity, and editing.
Me following along watching you say you need niobium-titanium and thinking that means oh boy you need a TPV blast furnace which means platline, but then my immense disappointment when you just throw it into a tungstensteel blast furnace because you aren’t playing the current version
Can you play the whole pack this season? Im playing new horizons aswell and its fun to look att your way to play the pack and your buildings machines and im lerning alot pf things from you. Keep up the awesome work😊
Three, have you ever seen celestial journey? its a remake of the first divine journey and looks really interesting. maybe try it when you take a break or maybe play it after gtnh
How do you get into this? The early game feels like such a huge wall. I've put 800 hours into Factorio and have played a few of its complexity-increasing mods like Krastorio, but this just feels exponentially more involved than that
After letting us know in discord the amount of editing this episode took, I just can't look at it the same way. Truly, there is no other word to call this other than a masterpiece. I have no poems for today, I can only sit in awe of the effort you put in for us.

Thank you for GregTech ❤️. The editing is crazy good.
I’m in awe with how fast you put this out, you are absolute insane Three!
I love the new, *snappy* editing style! keep it up!!
Even though you are one of the most famous dedicated Greggers, your channel is still underradon
you can really tell how much effort was put it into this video👏👏
Thx for another episode Three.. you’ve become one of my favorite RUclipsrs in a month :) that just shows how good you are, keep doing what you do
Thank you! I'm glad you like the videos. It's all thanks to you guys who enable me to continue to produce the series
What a nice treat! A GTNH episode to start the day.
Perfect timing! I had fallen behind on this series and spent most of today catching up! Just finished 5 minutes ago! Can't wait for this one! Great series, not gonna miss another again!!
Insane how fast this came out after the Livestream man, youre grind is noticed!!!
With every episode, the series gets better and better!
the rate at which you upload these incredibly high quality videos is insane, thanks so much for these
Seeing that activation sigil bought back some memories of old mods I miss
Uhh that wall texture variation is so nice, a little touch but helps a lot
Your base reminds me of something you would find in Doom Eternal, sort of like the cultist base.
Omg dude the base looks sick!!! Awesome work
The chill music while crafting the Beacon and stuff😍🔥
Man I love the grandmaster magic energy absorber - it's so nice for powering ore drilling plants, fillers, HV world accelerators (kinda :p), ae2, and other stuff ... but I don't know if it's worth all the circuits! I made it at IV after unlocking quantum circuits, gg on making it with nano circuits!
Also a tiny tip for anyone else who wants to make one, strontio can be gotten from scrap boxes (4 each)
Loving the base!
great episode! base looks awesome!
The base looks amazing ! Can't wait to see more buildings !
The new base design looks really good, and the magic generetors were a good call on your part, it'll help you save Benzene for the later chapters
10:15 unless gt:nh changed it, thaumcraft actually does not check, if essense particles, like, travelled to infusion matrix.
so as far as numbers on the matrix tick, you are ok
This series has made me a subscriber of the channel and made me reinstall Minecraft, I hope it will go the distance
the ghost building blueprint thing is so useful!
Didn’t initially like the myst but the Agon and myst really works
havent played a greg tech pack in proberly 15 years but somehow really enjoy watching these videos maybe now im abit older its time to take a look at a greg pack again and see if i have the patients lol
Yes more threefold vids to watch
Amazing video mr threefold
Your base looks great ! I'm very curious how you will build machine rooms now, it will be glorious
your base has the perfect design for a stargate, all I'm sayin
"..and he is also very loud" - put a muffler on him! :)
10:15 it is just an animation bug, the essentia is still being pulled
Summary, transitions, split screen, flashbacks, micro-cuts, rythmic editing, informations edits, its getting more and more complex ! Huge respect for the dedication, but have you ever thought of getting someone to edit the videos for you ? Get some time to breath between sessions lol, because as you said this is a huge project, it can become tedious sometimes and people understand that
gregory technology new horizons moment
10:15 - Only the animation is blocked. The essentia moves in just fine :)
Great timing! :D
i do not mind the length of the episodes in any way. If anything i kind of wish they were longer!
This episode was really good :)
if u would the white circles in ur base 1 or 2 wider u could use architacturecraft to make nicer circles
It's time for my DDOG (Daily Dose Of Greg)
Just found the channel, really good content here. Would love to see you play Manufactorio at some point.
The cognitio aspect probably was in books or paper in wanilla taumcraft
YAYYYY HE CLAIMED ALL THE QUEST REWARDS
Perfect timing!
3:39 two dense thaumium? The one on the left is titanium if I saw that correctly
Hello mister three good work as always.
Holy, i thought it will be one or two more day before next episode especially after streams
Nice, new episode
You should probably make an AD about your channel... I'm 99% sure you will catch a lot of subs/viewers.
It worked for Technoblade (2015, godbless his ads played in every video lmao)... It will surely work for you, especially with the Gregtech, amazing continuity, and editing.
That base looks amazing, keep up the great vids, you got patreon?
Just seen it in the description, consider me using that!
Thank you Jack! The extra support means a lot to me
The assembler recipe for field gens is a bit cheaper than the crafting table recipe
You definitely need to build the crafting patterns system for more convenience.
someone to rely on!
Yay finally he claims all his Quests 😀😀
who else noticed the cosmic meatballs (avaritia item) at 7:42 through 7:44 ?????
epic video!
I love gregtech🔥🔥🔥🔥🗣🗣🗣🗣
I was waiting for a another episode
wow walls are great
Me following along watching you say you need niobium-titanium and thinking that means oh boy you need a TPV blast furnace which means platline, but then my immense disappointment when you just throw it into a tungstensteel blast furnace because you aren’t playing the current version
his skin matches with the glass so well 🤓
the title of this video is me when I pull my pants down
i do still think the creeper egg ones might be worth it once you're able to make void ingots
Can you play the whole pack this season? Im playing new horizons aswell and its fun to look att your way to play the pack and your buildings machines and im lerning alot pf things from you. Keep up the awesome work😊
I think GTNH may be a bit too large for that. Wouldn't that necessitate 200+ episodes at least?
Three, have you ever seen celestial journey? its a remake of the first divine journey and looks really interesting. maybe try it when you take a break or maybe play it after gtnh
How do you get into this? The early game feels like such a huge wall. I've put 800 hours into Factorio and have played a few of its complexity-increasing mods like Krastorio, but this just feels exponentially more involved than that
Still getting trough the live stream and new upload all ready do you even sleep
Regarding base design, i personally wouldnt place a full beacon over the hole from which the rockets exit the base, other than that no criticism
Is a nuclear reactor close/far down the line or have Three skipped past it by just using loads of Benzene?
ILY 3
how do you see all the tiers in the questbook, mine only shows the tiers I've done
why do MV field generators require EV circuits?
