On one hand I applaud your creativity in thinking through a solution. However, it has to be the most work harder (not smarter) thing I've watched. They literally make steel drains you could have installed easier and cheaper. There is also a plethora of pvc options you could have done here again cheaper. I guess I hope it's working for you. Best of luck.
Take a piece of pvc pipe and cut it in half, heat the half piece up and lay some bricks on it to flatten it out, make 4 foot sections and drill some fastening holes to mount the 4 foot section but before you do cut slots at a angle for water and paint them black and then mount the section across the top of the wood drainage that you built. Your welcome.
Hey Jared, I’ve seen people use a metal grate to go over a concrete trench like that. But that looks like it will do the job for a while. Great job on it.
seems like it would fill with rocks after rain or driving over it, but good idea ... I’d try a big piece of metal C channel or I beam and just sweep it out if it got full of debris
Good effort but 1) just use a schedule 80 pipe or something 2)When running that skid steer and doing work you need to run the throttle all the way up. It was made to run like that and will actually do some work. Not saying it would dig a trench in compacted gravel without a tooth bucket but it might do better than just idling. Also an old guy told me once and it has always stuck with me, He said "let the machine do the work" and "work smarter not harder".
Great things about solutions #1 - you have one. You didn't before #2 - it can always be improved #3 - they invite criticism #4 - even harsh criticism may have merit that can add value to a future iteration #5 - all solutions are flawed. Some more than others #6 - reread #1, you got off your ass and did something. You have a solution. You didn't before.
Out of the infinite possibilities available to you brought to you by countless men over hundreds of years to simply divert water and stop erosion, you chose to slap together some untreated wood, bury said wood in the moist ground, seal it up with some calking, leave the top open, and, while in the process ensured that water would surely get under it so it will have that untreated wood sitting in mud for the lifespan (albeit short) of your invention? I'm gonna need you to hand over your bobcat keys... I just don't feel like you really, truly thought this through.
Why do it this way? You could have just carved a channel in some marble then used that as a prototype to guide your design when you build it out if mdf. Then you could paint it with Kool aid packets. I prefer wild berry since it seems to have hydrophobic properties. It would need a dome constructed just off to the side with fire bricks. Then buried so it serves no purpose at all.
I watched this whole thing and it hurt my brain.
I recently saw a couple guys use old guardrail for this. It's heavy duty and galvanized, so it won't rust. I'm thinking of using a 10' pvc pipe.

You never did that
Wtf the video would be 7 mins long whats the point
Plus that wood will eventually rot. Then he'll be back to square 1. Plastic pipe would've been a much better solution.
But you'd have to bury plastic pipe several inches down or traffic would break it.
This was painful to watch. It’s like saying, “I need a ceiling fan here” then building a doghouse with a spoon.
Lol lol
That's hilarious buddy, lmfao.
😂😂😂

@17:53: Ok, I'll admit...I have a whole new respect for leaf blowers.
try cleaning your gutters with one.

The instant you said “I’m not sure what this brown thing is” I knew I would be watching this video solely for entertainment purposes only… lol ;)
Ps. Contrary to popular beliefs, a gutter splash block IS meant to be used with the rectangle end catching the spill.
Yes and that's why it's called a splash block people have put them in backwards for years.
Sorry bro, but this is a perfect example of "all the gear, no idea" 😅

Why didn’t you just put a culvert pipe Wow
I agree, I think the issue he's trying to solve here would have been better served with a culvert.
Why didn’t just use a culvert??? And a culvert catch. Do it one time!!

Thanks for this. I’m dealing with exact issue on my driveway
Hopefully you ended up watching other videos first lol
Don't do it. I paid good money to have this done, and it's worthless.
Love the bronco 🔥💪🏻
nice channel .. check
for NDS drain sections ...
You could of used 4” or 6” pvc pipe

Wont matter to him since he just used a shovel and pick anyway..... smh
Your running out of patience, you said. Plan to do this driveway project with a 12" pipe next time.next year. And never worry again.
That's one way, the absolutely wrong way but still a way. But I can't talk I was stupid enough to watch this so there's that

Welcome to the Internet. DDIY
A for effort. Got find some old guide rails. No real labor but to dig trench!
Last about forever.
that was painful to watch, please take the video down so no one actually considers doing this instead of just using a 4'' plastic pipe
Leave it up. After watching this no one would consider doing it his way. It’s like watching birthing videos as a form of birth control.
This guy's hilarious!
I can't stop smiling 😃
Well it works for now!.
I get it......its a comedy right!
Happens to the best of us😂
Please no one ever do this to your driveway. This is not a proper or maintenance free solution to driveway wash out.
ummmmm, just no! There are so many things wrong with this I don't even know where to start....
GO WOLFPACK!!!!
At today's prices for lumber, this would cost more than a section of a culvert, but if it works for you, good on ya.
Culverts ha ha
No
как то не надежно. Более художественное значение, чем практическое.
