This could all be in the works, but we wouldn't know that because the number one thing this game needs is better communication between the devs and the people who play the game.

I've come to realize that AEW FF is exactly the game they intended for us. When you think about it. It was our expectations that made this game fail. Along with the radio silence from Yukes, THQ, and AEW Games. Since the beginning, they did a terrible job going into detail about what this game will have and what features it will add. All they did talk about, however, is it's an arcade game that will remind you of No Mercy. Kenny Omega and the team were set on giving us an arcade game. Hints the quick matches, mini games given a lot of attention, and Stadium Stampede being a fortnite reskin. Our expectations and lack of communication lead to a failure of a game. If they would've pushed this from the beginning things would be different.
I said this to people on Twitter who just saw me as a 2K schill, AEW FF had a lot of ambitious ideas but it felt like a demo it had zero replay value. It'd be essentially taking Universe and the creation suite from 2K games, without them those games die a death in a month. AEW just did not offer enough variety to give this game any kind of longevity.
The only way this could be fixed is to sadly deliver a competent sequel (if it even arrives at all). But the biggest problem AEW Games have now is NOT delivering a good patch or even a good sequel. It's earning back the fanbase's trust. I bought the game with the season price at full price. Even pre-ordered it. Yet, I only had 6 hours of playtime with it. I was SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED at what I got. I really want AEW to succeed, especially this game since it's their first game...
Nobody bought the game outside the hardcore AEW fans who will buy anything with the company name on it and claim it’s the greatest thing ever. This game had awful presentation, AWFUL dlc practices, terrible roster decisions, no modes, an overpriced deluxe edition, mediocre gameplay, lame graphics etc. The developer isn’t going to support a game that nobody played.
i didn't get aew ff, seemed like fun to play but lacked in other areas, thq nordic and yukes may go silent and had poor dlc management but i'll give them credit where its due they post full patch notes something 2k needs to do a better job at with 2k we get a few notes and a general fixes note lol.
😅🤣😂 ...the way a gamer plays Fight Forever with all the jerky moves and button-hitting that creates odd "no contact" moves, glitches and just looks messy and crowded...and ACTUAL matches on AEW... ...i see NO difference at all...
The game was fun for a week or so but there wasn't anything to really play for. By completing the story once, you pretty much had enough points to unlock everything, not that there was much in the way of unlockables that a player would actually care about.
I still support this game & play daily on my switch. They need to add more matches, more online features for mini games & updated roster. Cuz i dont own PS4 & PS 5 at home so this is my only wrestling game i can play on my OLED Switch...
I was observant and you’re right on lack of consistency; I hope a roadmap is considered, otherwise I was in fact right about not buying this game; if no roadmap happens, hopefully the sequel will be more classic transparent and improved then on end
Lol. Damn, I didn't even know they dropped the DLC's. I guess it's cool to finally have 'em, but since it sounds like they still haven't done anything to address the wack pin system and short matches, I can't say I'm overly excited to go back.
I would not say that the "next no Mercy" thing was a miscommunication. For me it was bad faith from the beginning. I bought day one and felt scammedbecause of that.
I actually think the game is pretty good but thats it its just pretty good not great. I pre ordered the Elite version and honestly it wasn't worth how much it cost if it was about half i wouldn't have any complaints. No way should it have took something like 4 years to make and one of the excuses for all the delays was they wanted to make sure it was perfect and not just something thrown out there.
Honestly they should have had Yukes build off a base 2k19. Have Universe mode, GM mode like be the EVP, better arenas that show more fans, more match types, Community creations, better creation suit and decent graphics. I prefer my modded 2k19 game I have way more wrestlers better aew arenas which sounds bananas since the companies in game arenas are meh. I want to feel like it’s a real event with fans in the rafters not a black hole like this game has. They just need to try again and maybe lean towards the market leader and do sometimes they do but then also put your own spin to it. A good game can have a loyal fan base for years to come. Instead of playing this years down the line we will be having more convos about where it went wrong.
I was so excited for this game when I heard about it and I even had a lot of fun with it for the first week or so, but quickly got stale. The graphics are good for the kind of style they were going for and the gameplay is decent. The grappling controls should've been done more in the style of the WWE 2K games to make it a little easier to pick up and play. The countering is so damn frustrating....even playing against the computer on the normal difficulty it just seems like the computer was able to counter and reverse all the time. I hope this won't just be a one off for AEW, but the next game should be a complete overhaul.
The problem for me is, the game is way to similar to those OLD N64 games but with updated graphics.... it doesnt have enough match types what so ever (We dont even have a standard cage match) and the CAW mode is so limited... it's like this game would have done amazing in the year 2000..... BUT we arent in the year 2000 anymore, Look at how much more options we get with 2K23? It's just not enough for the year 2023.
No Mercy is outdated as a grandmother... that series was amazing for it's time....we arent living in those times anymore which is why Fight forever has failed , once again Nostalgia proved everyone wrong once again... I also remember a steel cage match in one of the n64 games.. something we didnt get in Fight forever. list goes on and on as many have stated.. @@Adamtendo_player_1
Just like AEW the game showed big promise. Just didnt deliver. Mostly cause it lacks game modes. Like no tornado tag matches. I think that would been awesome or atleast more options to change matches. Just feels half arsed just like the shows. It sadens me cause i was really hoping for more
This game is great to play with your friend when your hanging out but what kills it for me is I NEED MORE MATCH TYPES! I mean Steel Cage, A Single Player Stadium Stampede like on TV, Backstage Brawl. Man why tf didn't they give us back stage fighting and crowd fighting and fucking fighting in the stands and merch table. stuff like that would make me always wanna go back. More room to do shit in a match other than just being confined to a small play area. Give me an casket match. So much they shouldve added. Also Road to Elite but in style to road to wrestlemania would be so good! I LOVE THE CORE GAME just like Halo Infinite. It's a great look and feel but the lack of content is killer
The content takes time to make I just wish they would let us know if there's a road map because if they plan to support this game for the next couple of years we need a roadmap hopefully in December or January
@@MR.__G I don't know but I know that they have a small development team I'm hoping they can eventually get more people involved and maybe help work on content I don't think that they've necessarily stopped working on potential updates to the game we just need more members to add to the dev team for quicker updates
@@positiveproductions6699 how big of a team do you need for the most basic match types in wrestling games ? Handicap, first blood, ironman, last man standing, multi man ladder, submission, special referee, cage, tables, tornado tag. I could play almost every match here on no mercy, a game that came out 23 years ago. There’s no excuse for a wrestling in 2023 to not have the bare minimum. They had the audacity to charge 60-80 for 7 match types. That’s unbelievable
The graphics got me before release but I bought it anyways. Majorly disappointed honestly. It seemed dodgy to me. Felt loose with a lot of difficulty plateaus, the timing seemed off in both the matches and the mini games. Then the career mode felt like a mix of ps1 wrestling games and tekken. And the creation suite was beyond underdeveloped. I wanted so bad for this to be a good game but they proved Cornette right once again. How long was this in development? I’d rather play the TNA game
The game is fun but it needs more meat on them bones. I honestly wouldn't mind if they just delay the game and not give a date until the game was FULLY finished and talked about a roadmap for content. WWE All Stars shows that people like cartoon style so it IS doable. AEWGames not not actively talking to the community hurts and the remaining supporters already BEEN hungry for stuff. Hell, I brought the deluxe version because I wanted to support the future of AEW video games but the games a No Man Sky/Cyberpunk 2077 series of updates to get blood into the veins of Fight Forever and the future
i think it was a great game for what it was it’s just suck that that’s downfall whatever when I get the game I get continue playing it so yeah, I like the game in my opinion
I like the game but it's so buggy still on PC. Characters still do T poses when I do signature and specials. The ref sometimes doesn't count when I pin, there is a lack of a roster compared to the actual AEW roster, lack of arenas, lack of variety in modes and pretty much everything. I like the gameplay but man it's rough, still some fun to be had and I enjoy playing it but damn, such a wasted potential.
For me it's the lack of creativity and depth. I wish I could custom CAW to my liking. The of being able to make my own arena with logos and being able to play a universe or gm would make it so much better. Back to play wwe 2k 23 gm again
It feels like they put a lot of their eggs in the Stadium Stampede basket, especially as it was the only ongoing source of monetization, and when that flopped it was over as far as ongoing support. That's so much wasted development time that could have gone into making the core experience outside of that mode better. It's a shame.
I think if it had twice the roster size, community creations, better arena templates, more detaield story, and their own version of universe mode or something similar, i rhink it would be awesome. I know i basically kinda said they should donall the wwe game things but fr those are the staples that make that game playable and this game didnt have those so the boredom came quick.
The game had lots of potential (it still has in a way), and a very interesting approach of having a multiple year cycle. And the game is quite fun... Until you've played for a while, then it becomes repetitive. For a starting point it was very good, but they needed to add new features, content, wrestlers and things that in the WWE games are essential (such as community creations) from the very first minute. And they massively failed in doing so; lack of support, lack of communication and the first season of DLCs arrived two months later than they were supposed to arrive. And this isn't a big franchise of a very well known game like Cyberpunk 2077, so even if in (let's say) a year you load the game up with things and it becomes amazing, most people won't even care at that point, so it's essentially gonna be no return spending. Not only that, but 99% of the content they've put out (new outfits) was put without any notice to the players, thus finding out via RUclipsrs who report on it or flat out by yourself. And Stadium Stampede could've been great, but unless you have PS Plus or the Xbox equivalent you can't even play it, so :/ So to sum it up, I had a lot of hopes with this game, and it could've been a great alternative to the WWE games in the same way AEW itself is to WWE in the wrestling world. But they only built the ground and a bedroom and expected people to act like the whole house was built. And speaking of a house, Swerve isn't in the game, same as other people who are fixtures in AEW like Toni Storm, Jamie Hayter, Claudio, everyone in The Acclaimed or even Daniel Garcia. So to put the cherry on top, the game is 2 years outdated from the start.
I have to thank you guys because I didn't watch all guys videos about AEW Fight Forever I probably would have try to buy it but after watching the content I lost faith after 3 days & just waited for the fam to buy wwe 2k23
I wouldn't know, I can't find a copy for PS4 or XBox One. Walmart only has it for PS5 and I'm not getting one of them until its around $200 because I'm not a Millionaire. I've been trying to get a copy since it came out. If it is download only, that automatically means it is trash. All online only games and digital games are trash. I want the disc. If it's only on next gen consoles, who is playing it? 5 people? Who can afford 5 or $600?
Im a huge AEW fan but extremely disappointed in what feels like an incomplete game. The game has some bright spots and was initially fun and different but it gets old fast and there are a lot of weaknesses that affect playability. Modes like Stadium Stampede only available for online users is a poor decision. Roster updates are small and spread out too far and will add up if paid over time. The creation suite is porous outside of some stars having multiple attires available. Many licensed songs for popular wrestlers unavailable and partial entrances is very ps2. The support is almost non existent and although there are numerous issues with wwe 2k23, there is so much more available to create and do that it has more replay ability.
What are you even talking about Tony? The new Hookhausen DLC is out which means I will be playing this....oh nvmed. In the span of typing this I am done with both DLC's completely...
They didn't put enough content into it, it didn't feel finished. The CAW was awful, no story mode, small roster, it turned out like the TNA game on the PS3 basically.
Ive gave up on the first hour Play 2 matches (CM Punk & Bryan Danielson) and try making my CAW and gave up Never Play it since Just Added new Character since id paid the 70 price 😟 It was more like a better version of Impact even thou id play more hours on Impact than AEW Didnt like the running animation and quick easy matches
Perhaps a professional wrestler shouldn't be making critical decisions about a game. Especially when they have no background in the industry. Simply being a gamer doesn't qualify you to be the head of a videogame division.
I never thought I’d see the day where you could ride a skateboard/horse in a wrestling but can’t do a basic match like tornado tag.. or having more mini games than match types 😅😅 this game is an absolute joke. This is the new 2k20

Kenny Omega led the game development. I have drived a car every day for the last 24 years, can I design the next car?
Changing the logo on the box doesn't change that Yuke's has been bad at this for years.
😅🤣😂
...the way a gamer plays Fight Forever with all the jerky moves and button-hitting that creates odd "no contact" moves, glitches and just looks messy and crowded...and ACTUAL matches on AEW...
...i see NO difference at all...
they did tell us what was going to happen with this game, in a way. they had nothing, said nothing, and gave us nothing lol.
The game was fun for a week or so but there wasn't anything to really play for. By completing the story once, you pretty much had enough points to unlock everything, not that there was much in the way of unlockables that a player would actually care about.
I’m still having hope for this game. If they add a backstage area this game will be a lot better. Add more RTE story lines. This game can be saved
Yeah and more DLC because the roster is small
I wouldn't get my hopes up. Nobody plays it anymore so they probably won't bother
It took them how to make the base game.....you think they're going to support it post release?
I still support this game & play daily on my switch. They need to add more matches, more online features for mini games & updated roster. Cuz i dont own PS4 & PS 5 at home so this is my only wrestling game i can play on my OLED Switch...
I still play it
I was observant and you’re right on lack of consistency; I hope a roadmap is considered, otherwise I was in fact right about not buying this game; if no roadmap happens, hopefully the sequel will be more classic transparent and improved then on end
Nothing is wrong with the game people exaggerate
The time that they put in mini games should have been more modes and match types! They dropped the ball on that
I bought day one and felt scammedbecause of that.
the game was ok but it lacked a better create a wrestler mode, more wrestlers, crossplay and it should had better game modes.
That’s the whole point, they’re supposed to be similar to the legendary N64 wrestling games which No Mercy is the greatest wrestling game of all time.
3 months after release has to be a record 😂
Why no tornado tag matches?🤔
I wish they would change the pinning system from button mashing to some type of meter system.
How much time they need to give match types that have been in wrestling for over 1-2 decades ?
Like he said, there probably isn’t a roadmap. Hence why you don’t hear about one.
@@MegaFinalRound what does a road map have to do with providing the bare minimum ? How old are you ?
They suck at social media entirely
Delay what? They said years ago this will be their only game LMAO
i think it was a great game for what it was it’s just suck that that’s downfall whatever when I get the game I get continue playing it so yeah, I like the game in my opinion
I love the gameplay, however once I beat career once, I was done with it
I like the game but it's so buggy still on PC.
And Stadium Stampede could've been great, but unless you have PS Plus or the Xbox equivalent you can't even play it, so :/
So to sum it up, I had a lot of hopes with this game, and it could've been a great alternative to the WWE games in the same way AEW itself is to WWE in the wrestling world.
I want my money back
"Here's Danhausen play as him now" i dont know why but I thought that was so funny
AEW as a company would shut doors
I pre ordered this game, but I only played it for 30 minutes. I didn't hate the game, but I just never went back.
Can’t wait for it to be free soon :)
They should of copied the No Mercy button control format for the game play
I have to thank you guys because I didn't watch all guys videos about AEW Fight Forever I probably would have try to buy it but after watching the content I lost faith after 3 days & just waited for the fam to buy wwe 2k23
Not much in the base game road to elite could be expanded on in future games.
Like to get it on sale but for now not enough core game modes for me to play. Rather just try out the free Challenge 64 mod for WWF No Mercy.
It's not worth it even on disc for any console.
Do not waste any money on this game
In the span of typing this I am done with both DLC's completely...
how did Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy on N64 last so long?
TBH, we made up our minds when we played the early access version 🤷🏾♂️. To me, it feels like the TNA impact game. Very underwhelming 🤷🏾♂️
I don’t understand. How can a game be “over”?
Are you going to watch AEW Collision tonight? I am. I am so excited
I think this game is fun. People are just too used to WWE games that they think it sucks.
Wrong ! People are used to wrestling games filled with wrestling content/features & not mini games
They don't have match types
Should have included backstage and a larger story than that
I told everyone the are game will fail and no one listened
They didn't put enough content into it, it didn't feel finished. The CAW was awful, no story mode, small roster, it turned out like the TNA game on the PS3 basically.
I don think it was worth the base price. They should have went the PES model. The base game free and you pay for the addtional features
What went wrong: anything!
Ive gave up on the first hour
Play 2 matches (CM Punk & Bryan Danielson) and try making my CAW and gave up
Never Play it since
Just Added new Character since id paid the 70 price 😟
It was more like a better version of Impact even thou id play more hours on Impact than AEW
Didnt like the running animation and quick easy matches
I called it dead from when it came out. It looked terrible and people were coping so hard about it
Perhaps a professional wrestler shouldn't be making critical decisions about a game. Especially when they have no background in the industry. Simply being a gamer doesn't qualify you to be the head of a videogame division.
You all were warned. Oh well.
Maybe it could make a comeback like No Man’s Sky and CyberPunk
with an emphasis on story mode creating more backstage environments and choice systems could have saved the game but alas
This generation version of the TNA game
4:12 not defending the game (I’ve never played it before), but wouldn’t you think that 2K20 had the worst support ever?😂
I'm sure sales had alot to do with how much support the game got
Love It TonyPizzaGuy Bro.
I can never seem to kick out of finishers in the game.
Don't worry it won't let me kick out of finishers or submissions either even if I have full momentum.
Don’t tell Ian from 616 entertainment that. His review seem like it was hand written by tony khan.
Different reviewers can have different opinions, my dude.
I keep scrolling past it on my PlayStation and refuse to play it, I've played it 4 times got it 1st day
So disappointed 😞
I mean... Fire Pro Wrestling World is still a thing.
aew fight forver is a great game im still playing it an dlc are still coming out
Still is similar to the show. Its to late to save the game though not enough interest. So basically a second game will never come
I never thought I’d see the day where you could ride a skateboard/horse in a wrestling but can’t do a basic match like tornado tag.. or having more mini games than match types 😅😅 this game is an absolute joke. This is the new 2k20
I hated the reversal system with passion. Annoying and unintuituve af.
This game looks absolutely awful, compared to wwe 2k23 this is $20 more and you can literally download all these characters on their game. Including a Gm mode and superstar mode
It looks more like wwe all stars
