I just spent 3 days in the Dolomites. Came down by train from Switzerland after a week there. Grabbed a rental car in Milan and drove up to Bolzano for the night. Headed out early Friday morning and headed to Alpe Di Siusi-Seiser for the most of the day, then drove to Ortisei (stayed at Hotel Dolomiti Madonna). Saturday morning walked to the cable car up to Seceda (Mind Blown). Sunday morning I drove up to Sella Pass and took the “Coffin Car” up to the notch. Weather started to come in so I went back to town. Headed back to Milan on Monday. When I go back, I’ll take the train up to Bolzano and grab a car there, instead of Milan. I’ve spent a lot of time in both the Rockies and Sierras in the US, The Dolomites are the most beautiful mountains in the world (unless you want to strap a Big backpack on and hike for days).
Selva di Val Gardena "the jewel of the Dolomites": excellent choice! I guess going from 50 to 1600 meters above sea level is a bit tiring, but I hope you enjoyed it.
Hello! Your travel series has inspired me to visit the Dolomites with my friends in a couple of months! We have started planning our trip and would love some guidance if possible. Did you create an itinerary while in Dolomites and would you be willing to share? Would you recommend the Airbnb you stayed at? Any modes of transportation? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for watching our video! We are so happy that we’ve inspired you to go to the Dolomites - it’s probably our favorite place we’ve ever been. We don’t have an exact itinerary, but in videos 19-23, we cover in great detail what we did while we stayed in Selva. If you want the link to the Airbnb we can provide that for you. It did not have Wi-Fi though. Thanks again for watching!
Did you take bus number 350 from Bolzano to Selva di Val Gardena? Did the bus has enough/limited space for luggages? Carrying with you or under the bus compartment? 🙏🏻
Yes, I’m pretty positive it was bus number 350! And there was room for luggage. We both had a large suitcase and backpack. I think it was with us. Thanks for watching!
Yes, we traveled around by train. Italys train system is fantastic. You can buy train tickets online via ItaliaRail’s website(TrenItalia). You can also buy in person. Thanks for watching!

Were the hikes accessible by public transit as well?
Yes! For sure! All of the gondola’s were within easy walking distance of a bus stop. Thanks for watching!
Did you travel in that area without a car? If so, how you managed?
